Local and convenient. I love the value duets which are what keep me coming back. The smokehouse bbq chicken sandwich and tomato soup combo is delicious. I will say Panera has one of the best, if not the best, tomato soup I've ever had. The inside of the main room of the restaurant is usually freezing so it deters me from eating inside sometimes. The outdoor seating is nice on the patio. The food comes out quickly. However, the side door out of the building is very faulty and has been for a while. It does not open all the way and locks halfway so if you open it normally it'll snap back and actually hit you. It could seriously injure someone. I had it snap back and hit my arm and it was very sore afterwards. I told a manager about it today and she said she "believes a work order has been put in for it" but didn't seem very concerned. I'm going to keep an eye on this. The door issue also doesn't allow wheelchair access as it doesn't properly open so it is not ADA compliant, even though there is a wheelchair symbol on the door. I would like to see this door fixed to avoid all of the above issues. Otherwise, Panera is a convenient option for a quick bite. read more

Every few years I get suckered into trying a Panera location. This one has been in my neighborhood for awhile and I had no interest in going. But after deferring lunch for too long and being nearby it seemed like a quick place to grab a sandwich. I had heard about their new chicken sandwich so that was what I was thinking about ordering. As I walked in there was no one at the counter taking orders, I saw a few touchscreen kiosks where you can place your order. I've used these at other restaurants, the Panera ones were a bit wonky and harder to navigate. But I was able to place my order well before any employees came to my aid. By then there were a few groups of people waiting to order in person, and an employee eventually came out. I was told to go to pick up window and my order was just being bagged, so it was pretty quick. But the bag felt light....... At $12 this was a pretty small sandwich and devoid of toppings I thought I had added. But it was decent. I got the spicy version but with light sauce. The brioche bun was good and chicken was tender but not very crispy. It came with a child portion bag of chips. I also grabbed a chocolate chip cookie as the dessert selection seemed depleted. It was ok. Nothing was bad about my meal, but also nothing to say on a positive note except that it was indeed food. The $15 spent here could have gone much further at several places very close by. I guess I'm too old to understand the appeal of this chain, but I'm pretty sure I'll get suckered into trying them again in a decade when they feature a new burger. read more

Very poor service We ordered 2 ham, egg, and cheese on everything bagel and sat down waiting for the buzzer. 5 minutes later I heard my name (no buzzer). I was told that they had only one and I needed to change the second bagel. They also told me that the buzzer wasn't working. I changed my order and want back to my table waiting. After 8 more minutes I want to the window only to find my order was sitting there getting cold. I asked why nobody called me and was told that someone has I am a long term customer of Panera, this particular Panera has the worst service I have ever experienced. Great place to chat & have some coffee. I came here while I waited for my car to be finished at AAA next door. The cashier was helpful at recommending popular items. Following his recommendation I ordered the Chipotle Chicken Wrap w/ Brocoli Cheddar Soup. Both were very good & well prepared. Just make sure you like it spicy if you order the chipotle chicken wrap. The seating area is quite large, and has ample seating. It was quiet with ambient music. Tables were cleaned regularly, and everything was well stocked. Panera's a good place to grab a breakfast fare. I've always found the bagels and sandwiches here to be rather good. The additional options to customize your sandwich provide you the customer a method to control the flavor as you see fit. The sandwiches may be a little light on filling your stomach but the quality of the ingredients generally warrant a slightly high price point than a fast food joint. The Drive Thru's at most Panera's are consistently terrible. It is almost unbearable when the car in front of you orders a complicated sandwich. As a whole, I won't have a problem visiting most Panera's. I just wish the drive thru was a tad better read more

Sad to add on to a common thread, but here goes: I'm generally a fan of Panera, but this location is a hot mess. The organization is completely slapdash and wait times are ALWAYS excessive. Employees seem unaware of who is doing what and there is a constant lack of communication amongst staff members. The end result is inaccurate orders made up of substandard food taking an inordinate amount of time. The dining room is generally clean, so at least there's that. Panera Bread is a recent addition to the Rt. 33 food scene in Hamilton Square, NJ. Their Yelp page says it is in Trenton, but it is several miles outside the capital. I stopped in one morning last week after court while running errands before heading to the office. This stand alone shop has a drive thru and adequate parking right across from the equally new Super Wawa. It is still bright and attractive within, with large windows throughout. Seating is mostly deuces, with a few larger tables. The order counter is surrounded by displays of their very good and tempting bakery products, with coffee brewed and waiting across the room. Service was friendly and efficient, with interaction on a first name basis. Liked that. I ordered an everything bagel sandwich with fried egg and cheese. It was delivered to my table a few minutes later. Their coffee was average and completely self serve. I have had better bagels, as this one although loaded with the nibs and bits of sesame, onion, poppy and salt, lacked the crusty shell I prefer. It was decent, but could have been more. The sunny side up egg should have been grilled over easy to reduce the drip from the still soft yolk. Live and learn. The house was not busy, perhaps reflecting the string of poor reviews here. Yet, I found Panera pleasant for breakfast, with good service. Those there were working on laptops and having meetings. They appeared comfortable. I would return and try those awesome looking cinnamon rolls. read more

I've gotten food from here a couple of times recently, and it's OK but not amazing. My sandwich never seems to have enough (or any) chipotle mayo on it, and the flavors, in general, are just not there. For my most recent order, I actually went into the restaurant to pick up my food, and everything looked clean, so that's always appreciated. Overall, if I order from this location again, I'll make sure to specify that I want extra mayonnaise on my sandwich (in order to get a normal amount) :) read more

Surprised by the low star rating of this Panera. I'm a fan of the chain and the fresh ingredients they use in their dishes. This one is located right off of a main road with lots of other eateries around. It looks to be a newer location as it's a stand-alone operation offering a drive thru and delivery services. Inside it's well lit but cozy, with tables spread amongst booths and love seats. Makes for a great ambiance on the rainy evening we came in on. I haven't been inside of a Panera in a while so was pleasantly surprised by the updates it has made from the flow of ordering through a kiosk system (you also still have the option of ordering at a register), to the table service they provide (versus picking up your order.) Overall, from ordering to delivery, took no more than 15 minutes - and that's including the time I took figuring out what I wanted haha! I ordered (and customized) their Greek salad - really tasty! It was loaded with quinoa, veggies, feta, almonds, spinach, etc. I opted for the dressing on the side and didn't even use it! The flavors from the ingredients were fresh and savory. I liked that it wasn't a bed of greens with a few toppings mixed in - they used a good handful of everything and I had to actually ask for a to go container since the portion was more than enough! I held back on ordering a smoothie but all the options looked very enticing and glad that they're also an option on the Panera menu. Great experience and looking for my next Panera visit. I stop in this Panera every few weeks or so to pick up their very good turkey or tuna sandwiches when I'm on the road. I love the place. However, in my most recent "to go" order my sandwich came with a tomato that was tan in color. Tan? Yes, tan! Meaning unripe and tasteless. However, here is the rub - it's August in New Jersey. Ripe red juicy Jersey tomatoes are everywhere. I don't know where they are getting their tomatoes from, but they are certainly not Jersey fresh. read more

I frequent this Panera early in the morning when I need to get some work done because it is typically pretty empty and it is close to my house- my guess is that it's empty because it sucks. Yesterday the entire place smelled so badly of rotting garbage that I was thankful I had a peppermint roller in my purse to use under my nose. The spinach and artichoke bake was barely warm and when I began pouring milk from the pitcher into my coffee, a large-enough stream of water ran out of the top - GROSS. I may continue to use this Panera as a quiet workspace but I'll likely skip the food and order a bottled beverage. I don't know why I gave this Panera another shot. They are THE WORST. Pictured is their sad attempt at half an Asian chicken salad - 10 wonton strips and probably the same amount of diced chicken. All of the other toppings were left off. The food is what you'd expect from a fast casual place. Not fantastic, but not terrible. The reason for my two-star rating is the ice chute in the soda machine. It's got a not so healthy layer of black mold on it. That's disgusting. It's 1pm on 9/15/2019. If you're ever curious to know how well a place actually cleans, look at the clear plastic ice chute on their soda machine. You'll be shocked at how filthy they are more often than not. Adding my two cents along with the other dissatisfied customers here. We LOVE Panera in general, but this location gets your order wrong more often than not. I hesitate to even tell them anymore, because I honestly was afraid they were going to think I was just trying to get a free pastry! But they only need to read the reviews to find I'm not the only one! And the music was so loud when I was there that I couldn't concentrate... tough to have a conversation or read or write. The brocolli cheddar soup today was sour, watery, and unappetizing. The chicken noodle soup was equally unpleasant and bitter. That was too much of a coincidence to ignore. I called Panera to alert the manager of the issue. Given the fear surrounding illness and health, I would imagine the manager to be professional and open to addressing the problem. That was not the case AT ALL. Despite calmly voicing my concerns, she was nonchalant and offered no apologies. As a customer, I felt no assurance that the problem would be addressed. Instead, she claimed that the products are fresh, defending the sour soup. After all of this, the manager's response was "Have a good day." Very unprofessional and rude. Sour and bitter soup are definitely NOT a sign of healthiness, which is advertised strongly by the company. The manager's indifference toward the issue begs the questions: what is going on in that kitchen and why are they expressing so little concern for their customer's well-being? It was too chilly and windy to eat outside so we ended up having to make the half hour drive back home. Ordered half a Fuji Apple Chicken Salad. Didn't even get a quarter salad. The bottom of the container was barely covered. At their prices this is ridiculous--especially since it wasn't that fresh, not was the bread. $7+ for a quarter salad. This location leaves a lot to be desired. It's my 3rd time here and the service is terrible. 1 cashier with 3 young adults standing around chatting and 1 on his phone. The customer behind me asked if they were open and they said no....so then go do something, clean tables, refill the soda tops that were empty and I had to ask. While I love Panera, this location isn't my favorite. It's convenient because it's close to my house but I'd drive a few more minutes for better service. Entered at 11:05am to get a QUICK lunch. The one woman ahead of me in line was taking forever so I used the machine- 1 bowl of soup and drink, and took the pager. After 10 mins I walked up and saw my slip and no food but guy assured me he'd brig it. Ten mins later I walked up again and I see the slip on the side signed by someone else. Their explanation... Uhhhhh sooory? Not the first time I got slow service.
