Without an exception this was the worst food I have ever been served. Beyond shocking that a soup, which would normally be a fairly easy food to serve, would have THAT much salt in it. Normally I am a guy that will add salt to most meals, but this was beyond anything that you would feed a person, unless you had some sort of malice against them. If Yelp would only allow me one negative star rating, I would have used it here. The biggest concern here is the actual volume of salt. I'm not talking about salty, like chips or sea water but more like something to remove ice. That is a huge problem that indicates either some with malice or a major problem with training the food preparers.

It was one of those mornings that I just couldn't make it in time for breakfast. Luck would have it that I landed at this Panera where they made me eggs anyways - even though it was after their cutoff time. The food was to spec for Panera. Yummy. The facility was clean and well run. No complaints!

    Protein salad....delish......chicken noodle soup.

I loved that they had an outdoor ordering window, so you could order and then sit at a table outside and wait for your name to be called. No need to go inside and wait to be seated, which was perfect for a quick lunch. We got the pickle poppers and the Nashville Hottie, and oh my goodness. That Nashville Hottie will go down as one of our top Nashville hot sandwiches ever. It may not be a traditional Nashville hot, but the flavor is absolutely phenomenal. It's ginormous, messy, and loaded with sauces that complement each other so well. Your first bite gives you a little sweetness, and then that heat starts to kick in, followed by all the other flavors coming together. So, so good! There's also a pimento-cheese-style sauce that comes with it, and that just takes everything over the top. And the pickle poppers were an experience all on their own. They were hot, crunchy, and delicious. I was worried they might have too much cheese inside, but the ratio was actually perfect. And of course, the pickles themselves were fabulous. The service was great too. The girl working was super friendly, and even though the lunch line started getting HUGE, they moved everyone through quickly and got the food out fast. Highly recommend! If you're in Grand Haven, definitely give this place a try. Just be prepared for a crowd around lunchtime!

It is, in fact, a tiny "general store" that is inconspicuous and easily missed. It sits right on a two-lane coastal "highway," barely 1/4 mile from Lake Michigan, but would just as likely be found in some backwater Alabama swamp (not an insult, just an ambience). They have a small deli in the back and the young unassuming young guy making pizzas and other baked goods. He seemed nice, albeit so what suspicious. There was also a quintessential old farmer-type playing lottery scratch-offs by scratching off the barcode without actually playing the game on the front, then communicating with the cashier woman on a first name basis (Sarah). What a weird experience. I'm always interested in the colorful characters these tiny little towns and their stores. The pizza? Some of the best I've found south of Holland. The sauce had a hint of sweetness, and the crust had a couple of semi burnt bubbles that added to the delicious crunch of the crust. The taste may not be worthy of a five, but certainly a Midwest tiny-town-in-the-middle-of-nowhere five, and certainly worth a visit for pizza, miscellaneous baked goods... or beer, wine, and lottery.

The last time we were there was a few months ago. We were fairly surprised at the reduced menu. No Nashville hot chicken sandwich which was a staple. Yet they still have the hot honey? Only real difference is the sauce. So not sure why they took it off the menu. I ordered the Mac and cheese (and added chicken) I was looking forward to having leftovers. Well, it was very dry. Used to have a great cheesy sauce . Not this time. Barely any at all on the noodles let alone enough to cover . A bunch of dried breadcrumbs dumped on top. The chicken was chopped up and put on top of Mac and cheese under the breadcrumbs. Used to be larger pieces of grilled chicken that tasted very good. Not this time. This was not worth the $20. I ate about 5 bites . Took rest home to throw. Other entree was the chicken Parmesan sandwich. Chicken was on garlic bread ... it was saturated with garlic butter/ so greasy that it really was not good to eat. Sandwich would have been much better just on a regular bun. Our app of cheese curds is now Parmesan crusted cheese curds. They were ok but the original cheese curds were much better. We are really hoping that this was just an off night. We will try again in a couple months to see if things tip back to how railtown was. Very disappointing because we've been supporters of this restaurant for a long time. Not sure if whomever use to control the kitchen changed; but it is not the railtown we've known.

It was Canadian wildfire smoke day when we first arrived, we're talking worst air quality in the world, so we tried to find indoor things to do naturally. We dined in here with sparkling water, fresh sandwiches, and even rolled out with some gnocchi and pesto for dinner back at the AirBNB. My egg salad sandwich (classic egg salad (hard boiled egg, red onion, capers, dill pickle, mayo + sriracha, local lettuce on toasted dutch crunch) may've been the best egg salad sandwich I've ever had. The only caveat: I haven't really eaten that many egg salad sandwiches. But it was still the best! Bonus, this was during a season where packaged lettuce was on recall but their greens are fresh and local baby. We even did a to-go order on the road trip out of town to dodge fast food, and I ended up with their turkey wrap (oven roast local turkey breast, Michigan white cheddar, local lettuce, cucumber, tomato, onion, microgreens, sriracha mayo, spinach wrap) which was also very good.
