Visited Panera for a steak and arugula and was told they didn't have the proper bread to make it. I asked if it could be put on white bread instead and they said sure but it wouldn't come with the herb cream cheese on it (not because they didn't have it because they gave me a cup of it on the side but I had to spread on myself in my car) Then..my chicken tortilla soup...they added the tortilla strips in it and covered it so that when I went to eat it, it was all SOGGY! Worst customer service ever!!!! Came in they were out of all coffee products and smoothies. Ended up paying 8$ for half a breakfast sandwich with just spinach egg and bacon. It doesn't end there, first order I received was completely wrong totally different sandwich. Went back in to get it fixed, and the counter person had disappeared for a good seven minutes. They finally remade my sandwich and brought it out to me personally. When I repeated the order back they took the sandwich right back as they had messed it up yet again. The manager was extremely rude when asked about adding paper towels to the bathroom. She was even more rude when I asked about the lack of syrup in the Pepsi fountain. Avoid. read more

I was very disappointed with this Panera. The overall cleanliness was sorely lacking. The bathroom was very dirty and the paper towels were out. The carpeted dining room clearly needed vacuuming. Went to Panera Bread in Florence SC this evening to order a sandwich and was told by the drive thru girl (who wasn't at all polite) that they couldn't make my sandwich because they didn't have the BREAD. Panera BREAD had no bread? They also didn't have the side item my wife wanted and made her order incorrectly. We ordered soups that didn't come with bread (but we were charged full price) and when we drove away we realized they didn't put spoons in the bag. Hope this place doesn't go the same way the failed Atlanta Bread did in Florence (they had lousy McDonald's-style service too and were always missing menu items.) Owner needs to remember this is supposed to be a notch above a fast food place. Good service and consistent quality are not optional. read more

Stopped here on a road trip, worst panera I have been to. We ordered an iced tea, which was the only drink item they had, and they couldn't even give us that. Had the Pick-2 on 1st November - Ten Vegetable soup plus the Chipotle Chicken Avocado Melt. The Melt looked a bit dodgy (reheated). Minutes later the Melt got vomited into the toilet bowl. It won't post my review if I give it less than one star but if I could I would. Arrive at 12:05 on a Sunday. Restaurant is 50% empty. Order two steak and white cheddar paninis with chips to go. What? You're OUT of chips? I'm no rocket scientist but this isn't a problem that just came up out of nowhere. Here's a great solution - go to the nearest grocery store and buy a bunch of mega packs of individual Lays chips. Then you can at least offer chips. Seems simple. Ok I'm over that. Now mind you it's noon on a Sunday and the place is half full (or empty depending on your view)...I ordered at 12:09 - FINALLY got two sandwiches at 12:34. Yes 25 minutes for two sandwiches. Unreal. Start eating the sandwiches as we ease on down the road. If there was 2 ounces of meat on these sandwiches I'd be shocked. It was mostly bread and onions. Just terrible. I'm in the restaurant business so I actually tend to be understanding but the food and most especially the service or lack of service really got me today. No apology for the wait. No apology for being out of chips. Not a "hey have a soda on me" or "let me toss a cookie in the bag to make up for being out of a PREPACKAGED item"...basically called my name and handed me the bag. Should've paid attention to the reviews. 1 - Food wasn't fresh! 2 - Yogurt served to us with he kid's meal was warm. We did asked for another and was given one that was cold 3 - We were given plastic utensils even though we were dining in. 4 - Bathrooms are disgusting!!! There was trash all over the floor, toilets and sink had clearly not been cleaned recently and no paper towels were available. This is a really dirty Panera that does not appear to be well-run. We went in right when it opened and they were out of things that should have been stocked up, like sugar and honey at the coffee and tea station, and the station was not clean. The men's bathroom was one of the dirtiest and nastiest bathrooms I've ever seen, it looked like it hadn't been cleaned in days. When I flushed the urinal it overflowed onto the floor! A worker happened to be in there filling up a soap dispenser at the sink, because the one on the wall was smashed, so I told him the urinal overflowed. He said that they knew and that the plumber would be there tomorrow. So all day today people are going to walk on a urine-filled floor. A definite health hazard. read more

Worst Panera we've ever been to. First of all, I ordered only ordered one soda and got rung up for two. So then I decided instead of making a big deal about it I would just get a drink. I try to get unsweetened iced tea and it was sweetened. The food took forever. All we ordered was two soups. which would've been simple to just scoop into two bowls. Instead, we've been waiting over 40 minutes. Also, we ordered a pastry. At any other Panera, the pastry is placed in a box before they place it in a bag. Here, the lady just dumped the cheese danish into the paper bag so that the cheese got all over the bag. The tables are filthy. The entire store is waiting for their order. When I went to find a manager so I could complain, there is nobody even at the cash register and no manager to be found throughout the store.. Very unimpressed! I came here with my friend halfway through our trip to charleston. i ordered half of a sandwich with bread as my side and my friend ordered soup. my friend got her soup in under three minutes, and it took them over 15 minutes for them to give me my sandwich and i had to ask them about it before they gave it to me. when i got it, it was very poorly made and it didn't come with a pickle slice, like it normally does, and they didn't give me my side. they were also not very polite and the bathrooms were not very nice. read more

The girl at the register was overwhelmingly slow and she didn't get either orders right. I go to find a table to sit at and the entire dining room is trashed with napkins and crumbs. A woman from the back finds us, lets us know that the soups we ordered were out and fixes our new orders ( thank god for her ) and the rest is history. Every single time i go to this panera, and no i am not exaggerating, they are out of something.. every. single. time. For example, the chicken to go on my salad. Last time they didn't have nuts for my salad. The time before they ran out of quinoa for the QUINOA SALAD! A few weeks ago on a Sunday morning they were out of COFFEE!! Catering not their strong point. I placed a catering order days ago to be ready at 6 AM. The female I spoke to assured me they take these orders very seriously & would definitely have it all ready. An employee at this Panera was caught ON CAMERA stealing my wallet and all of the employees involved (except one) lied about it until police got involved to look at camera footage. When I called multiple times asking about it and heard nothing, I went in later and got answers from other employees who finally admitted that my wallet WAS there. When there was proof that an employee had stolen my wallet, I tried everything I could to get re-embursed for it and nothing. Never got an apology or an offer to be re-embursed by Panera. The food was okay, but immediately upon walking up to the register to place our order, the cashier was rude. She lied to us about the mac n cheese saying that it would take 20 min for them to make it...when really, they were just being lazy. I know this because she made a huge deal about it and when we said we would wait, she got even more rude (the mac n cheese only took 5 min, by the way). After we were finished eating, we moved to the outside tables. We experienced multiple people trying to get Panera between 9pm and 10pm, but they locked the doors and wouldn't answer at the drive through. I really was excited to have Panera come to town! I love going when I travel as it's always a great place to get good food and relax. This one ,however, needs to get it together. Every time I go, they are always out of this or that. Twice I went and the only thing in the pastry section was left over scones that no one wanted. I went on a Sunday (right after church) when everyone was going to eat? And I couldn't even get a muffin because there were none. Yea was out one day. I hope this is just a training issue. I was really happy to see Panera come to town, but after multiple visits I must say that the crew here needs to step it up. I regularly go to Panera on travel and have much better experiences elsewhere. Today, light roast was out. It's Saturday morning, so that shouldn't happen. Lady in line in front of me tried to order oatmeal and was told they were out. Sandwiches were put together sloppy, although they tasted fine. I've been in here before and treated kind of rude by front end crew and they don't seem to ever have more than one cashier at busy times in morning. Stopped by here with my mom and sister on our way back to VA and it did not disappoint! We were on the fence between Panera and Chipotle and are thankful we choose Panera this time! The service was quick, efficient, and prompt. We ordered all of our food togo since we were on the road, and everything came out perfectly and we weren't missing a thing. This is the first time I've ever had enough dressing for my salad. I love how they now serve clean foods on their menu (not processed) however the price is a little too high for this style of restaurant. read more
