As much as I like Panera's food, the service has really gone downhill. They have a great online ordering system and the family feast make it more affordable now to eat. I recently made a curbside order. Put my car info in when like I have done at other locations. When I got there I Che led in through the email. Then proceeded to wait 15 minutes. I called the store and said I have waiting and wasn't sure what happened. I reminded them to bring utensils for eating and butter since I would not be eating at home. After another 5 minutes out comes the order. Asked if everything was in there and of course they say yes. Then I was told I had to wait so long because I should have been parked in a different area even though it was hard to read the signs from the direction I came in. Fast forward to opening the food. No butter. And how they expect you to eat a family side salad with no plates I still don't get. I wouldn't have been so upset but this has happened to me multiple times where I get the food to go to eat for a picnic and I didn't have enough utensils to eat with. I'm a rewards customer and those perks are pretty good The food is good and not too fast. They cleaned up their salad dressings a few years ago & removed High Fructose corn syrup & junk! Stopped in this morning and ordered the cinnamon roll. Besides being a bit hard (was told it was made overnight. Not sure I believe that), the glaze/frosting had a lemon taste to it. Lemon does NOT pair well with cinnamon. My guess is it's the same glaze they use on other bakery items, but too lazy or cheap to put the correct glaze that is supposed to go on a cinnamon roll. I threw 3/4 of it away. What a waste of money. Sadly, it seems Panera is going downhill. It's just not the same as it used to be. I'll spend my money elsewhere. read more

I went to get my younger brother who is very sick some chicken noodle soup from here and the service in the drive thru was AWFUL. I asked for a bowl of chicken noodle soup and a chicken caesar salad. Simple order right? WRONG. I open the bag when I get home and it's a CUP of broccoli cheddar soup.. not chicken noodle. And the lettuce in my salad was clearly old and not good to eat. As someone who has worked in food service for over 10 years I was very disappointed. This place is not worth the long wait in the drive thru line. Don't waste your money here! read more

Looked at me and just huffed and puffed I assumed she wanted my order she then pounded on the register asked if I had a rewards gave her the number she pounded that in said nothing shows up. I have been pleasantly surprised the last couple times I went to this panera. I got a sandwich both times and soup. The soup was good and the sandwich was really good hence me getting it twice. I got the toasted Italiano and the French onion soup. service was good. The only thing is the pricing. I got a tiny cup of soup for about 5 bucks ...it was more like a 2.50 serving. The sandwich size was great considering it was part of the two deal. Overall it was good an I'll be returning again and may venture and get something different next time. read more

I worked at Panera bread for 3 years and my last year was horrible. We switched management and our most recent assistant manager and general manager were absolutely horrible workers and people. The assistant manager targeted me when our friendship ended and she had negative feelings towards me. She complained about me to our district and general manager who both also weren't fans of me. The work environment remained hostile until my last day. The general manager chose the people she didn't like and picked with them by reprimanding them for things everyone else did but she didn't enforce. The general manager excused everyone having septum piercings (for over 6 months) but when I recently got one she used it as cause to not let me work my last 3 days there. The general manager also refers to the lgbtq+ community as "it's" and doesn't care to learn how to respect people. She told me how all her friends kids go by they/them pronouns and how she found it weird. I don't recommend working here or even eating here. read more

I picked up my grilled chicken salad order and when I got home there was no chicken. When I called to complain (politely, no yelling/name calling, just frustration), the manager didn't like my "tone of voice" and hung up on me. When I returned in person later it was clear she just didn't want to hear that there was a problem. No apology and no offer to refund. She told me she didn't have to do anything for me. Very poor management skills. I wasn't angry, just really feel customer service was extremely poor. Things happen, mistakes happen - - just own it and offer a refund. I love Panera. I do. I'm literally there 4 times a week. I prefer their coffee over all else. My normal store is North Ridgeville but I stop in here from time to time. The service is always slow. Tonight was exceptional though. I waited in line for 11 minutes with 9 people behind me. One register open. Even though employees walked to the front, saw the line, one register. All I wanted was one cup of coffee. That's it. I was second in line when an old guy went to the front last everyone and asked for napkins. The only cashier left her register because there was no one else to help her and gave him a bunch of napkins. That wasn't enough for said old guy. Our fearless lone cashier then had to leave her register again, because there was still no one there to help her, to go to the back and get more napkins presumably. All of this in the middle of an order. I was now out of time because I was against the wall for making it to work on time. I walked out, not looking back, and never to return. I'll drive out of my way to go to another Panera. I've never had these problems at Sheffield or North Ridgeville. At least one more cashier, no problem. Someone working dining room, no napkin fiasco. The girl that came out to look at the line takes initiative, smooth sailing. I wish them well but I just can't anymore. Tonight was a bridge too far. read more

Standard Panera experience but poorly designed with virtually no outlets to be able to study or do work, the primary reason I go to Panera.

I love Panera and I have been a long time Panera loyalty member. I use you personally and professionally for catering at office meetings. I stopped at this location today to get a coffee and a few muffins for a client. I waited in line, behind 3 people, for a good 10-15 minutes. Thought about leaving but didn't as I wanted to see how things played out. The older ladies in line behind me say they come every Wednesday and its always slow and they are frequently out of coffee and have to wait 10 minutes for them to brew more. While waiting in line, I noticed all three women working were annoyed and not friendly at all. They weren't working effectively together and were annoyed when a customer came in with a wrong breakfast sandwich that they messed up in the drive through. This was at 9:30am when I would expect better service, faster service and more customer service. I would not recommend this location to anyone and it looks like many others have had similar issues. Maybe you need to send in a corporate trainer to help the staff? Good luck! read more

i've witnessed Ashley be friendly with people, invite them to parties and not encourage them to stock, properly clean, and treat the store anything other than poorly. the turbo chef didn't look like it was cleaned yesterday (4/17), i came into work and was asked to clock in early, to prep sauces, dressings, we didn't have anything cut, the store looked disgusting. Ashley asked an associate to clean something and they said "really..." so she didn't worry about it. Every time i walk onto line, she makes mean faces, she rolls her eyes at me, doesn't properly communicate with drive, or anybody on line. i expressed my concerns and was told that they were nothing but right, Ashley has (out loud) talked crap about multiple employees, has said rude and hurtful things that aren't right. Ashley obviously wasn't properly trained to take care of your store and chooses to be a friend before a manager, and it's not right that everyone is busting their butts all morning, where as they choose to sit on their phones, hardly work, and about morning shift. This isn't so much to say they don't do anything, but their closing manager did nothing but make the store chaos. it's not fair to your other managers to do closing shifts stuff in the morning or other managers to be treated poorly. A manager who is obviously favored doesn't get anywhere near the same treatment. if her actions and communication doesn't change i will be reporting her to corporate and will involve Jess. read more

Good food but bad customer service!!! The bagels are pretty good and the spreads are too. I enjoy the soup and sandwiches as well. But... the service is horrible once I ordered a bear claw and it took 1 hour also when ordering on the phone be careful they mess up easily. Horrible customer service. Apparently people walk in and steal Rapid Pickup orders because the shelf is positioned right next to the front door. The manager acted like she was doing me a favor by replacing my order... because someone stole my order. My replacement order was missing something and again it was like I was lying or inconvenience them. When I got home EVERYTHING in the replacement order was wrong. 1.5 hours after placing my order in the panera app I'm eating cold food I didn't order but I did pay for. Never again. read more

Absolutely no concern for customer service at this location. I ordered a rapid pick up at of six simple bagels unsliced. I clicked in the app that I'm here. 15 minutes later nothing was out. I was confused as there were no other customers in sight. I went inside where my order was on the counter in a bag and there were at least two employees standing around doing nothing. Ordered hot coffee at the drive through and I was given a cup of cold coffee. Why would you give someone obviously cold coffee? I went inside and said that it was cold and was told I could microwave it. I said no thanks I don't like microwaved coffee and was told I could get some from the coffee station - which was also cold, or I could wait until they brewed some. I was over charged for my beverages, I asked for small drinks as Panera has refills so why would I purchase a large drink after I asked about the refills??? So after them not rectify the drink situation, I ask them if they could put a little more soup in my bowl as the bowl only looked half full. I was told no by the manager because that is the bowl portion of three ladles. So it's not about customer service anymore, even when you've already wronged me by charging me for large drinks. OK at 5:17 on 1.7.22 we had an $80 order delivered to our house. They charge a "Delivery Fee" and a "$7 Convenience Fee". They delivered everything except 4 cookies and 9 packets of butter. The only thing I order from here is the macaroni and cheese bread bowl. The first time I had it delivered from this location I received a small cup of Mac and cheese and no bread. This time I received a bread bowl delivered to me with no Mac and cheese, the bread bowl wasn't even cut out. This 2000th Panera opened on 3/23/16, but it is already showing its fine heritage by echoing the high quality food and friendly, well-trained staff of previous Panera restaurants.
