This was our first visit to Panera Bread, and might be our last, but my hubby still has a Christmas gift card to redeem there, so we will likely have to return to redeem it. Anyway, my daughter and I were really looking forward to the visit. Well, the food was decent, not fabulous, but what really stands out is the wrecked service! Horrible service! The cashier was rude! She was not nice at all. She was yelling at customers to move to the other side of the cash register bellowing that the right side of the register is for ordering. How are we newbies supposed to know that? Now, I was willing to give Panera a break because they are relatively new, and perhaps are going through some growing pains, but there were no excuses. It was loud, workers were yelling, the door was constantly being opened and slammed. Whataburger is quieter! The restaurant was also quite filthy! The tables were never wiped down, the floors were wet where the fountain drinks had spilled, and my salad had humongous chunks of white lettuce, and the avocado was brown in certain spots. Our company is between offices right now, so instead of catering, we use DoorDash. We were excited to see that Panera was on DoorDash, as they are close to our temporary offices, and there's something on the menu for everyone. They wouldn't take our order. It wasn't huge (only eight people), and we tried to order at 11am - well before the lunch rush. I don't think I'm going to be eating at Panera any more... ​​​​ read more

Visiting El Paso for the weekend I found myself needing one of the famous super charged lemonades. Talk about night and day. In Albuquerque it's rare you see Panera use the rapid pick up shelves. Most of the time you have to ask for your order at the counter. In El Paso I saw my order along with others waiting on the shelves. It was a pleasant surprise. I ordered my usual large mango super charged lemonade and boy it tasted a little different. I was a bit disappointed. I still drank it and for the most part it gave me the boost I needed to get the day started. The door in the front slams shut so you gotta move quick entering and exiting otherwise you might get hit. It was very scary. Other than that it was alright experience. The restaurant was nice inside. Staff was pretty friendly. You can tell it's fairly new. I made a good choice with chicken bacon rancher sandwich. Ordered drive thru during lunch hour and this was my choice along with a side of chips and pickle spear. The line wasn't too long but behind me it got longer. wasn't much of a wait but they apologized and hooked it up with a delicious oatmeal raisin cookie. Got back to work and my sandwich was warm and fresh. The ranch sauce was thick and full of flavor. Bacon is always good with everything. Good lunch! read more

Ordered cookies at the kiosk, on my way to pick them up from counter saw some flies on them. Asked for a refund, manager acted like this happened everyday. No my bad no apology no sense of urgency to get me my refund. Was asking her what she needed in order to get a refund wouldn't even answer confidentiality like it was her first day. I was dropping off my kids the other day and realized I was starving! Luckily, I had this sweet deal--a $4 off take two coupon and a free bread bowl because they ran out of bread bowls during their grand opening. I figured it was the perfect time to hit up Panera Bread in El Paso again. I decided to swing by the drive-thru, and man, it was a pleasant surprise! The girl on the speaker was super cool and friendly. She answered all my questions, and when she didn't have an answer, she didn't hesitate to ask her trainer for help. Talk about service! I ended up making a couple of orders because I had these Sip & Save rewards alongside the coupon and I guess they can't do it on one order.. Oh, by the way, you gotta be careful with their Charged Lemonades (my flavor was Mango Yuzu)--it's got a serious caffeine and energy kick! I gave it to my husband, and even though he said it tasted a bit weird, it totally fueled him up for the entire day. Now, here's the best part--they didn't forget about my bread bowl! I got the one I paid for plus an extra one as promised from the grand opening mishap. I even scored some bonus stuff like a tub of cream cheese. It was so convenient, you know? For my take two, I went for the Turkey Club sandwich and the Seasonal Autumn Squash Soup. Let me tell you, they were spot-on. And guess what? I couldn't resist trying their French Onion Soup too, and it was absolutely delicious. I'm a sucker for soup and bread, so being able to grab them through the drive-thru, especially when I'm feeling sick, made me one happy camper. It's been a long time coming, but I'm stoked that Panera Bread finally made its way to El Paso. They've really stepped up their game with well-trained staff and making sure they keep their items stocked, including those awesome bread bowls. All in all, my visit to Panera Bread in El Paso was top-notch. The friendly service, the yummy food, and the convenience of the drive-thru made it a kick-ass experience. Panera used to be affordable. Good food at a good price. We went to the new location and we did the pick two. They were out of chips/apples so we had 2 half sandwich's, two sides and 2 sides of bread for $36.00. Price gorging! I haven't gone back. Badly managed. Why can't you keep food in stock? Go next door to Crave. Better food at a better value for your money. read more

If I could give this ZERO stars, I would! I've loved PANERA for over 18yrs. The atmosphere. THE FOOD. All so good! This location is RIDICULOUS. The service needs some improvement. I've attempted to eat here 3 times. Every single time, over half the menu was sold out. I went here the first week they opened during lunch 12:30 there was a long wait but that was expected..it's lunch time and brand new to El Paso so everyone is excited to try this place out. I waited about 20 mins for my food. Quality was good, the food was hot and was worth the wait. The staff were very friendly and kind. Even though it was very busy the dinning area and drink area was very clean. They have outdoor and indoor options and the outdoor was perfect because we were able to have our pup join us. read more

Another poor experience! Placed an order online for 3 bagels. Received the email that my order was ready to pick up. I drove to Panera to pick it up and my order was not on the shelf. The rude manager came out and asked what the issue was. I told her I ordered bagels and that my order was ready, yet nothing on the shelf. She told me they ran out and asked what I wanted to substitute it with? I told her nothing. I ordered bagels, was told it was ready for pickup, and that is what I would like. I also asked why I would receive an email telling me it was ready for pickup if they ran out?? Why didn't they cancel it? She told me that in case I wanted to substitute. BS! I drove out here after being told it was ready to find out they didn't have any? I asked her how to avoid this ever happening again for a potential future order and she told me to CALL TO VERIFY the order was filled! BS. Why should I have to call if you tell me the order is ready? This place, although just opened, needs to shut down. A total disaster! read more

Absolutely horrible. Ordered online ahead of time for drive through service via the app. I was notified they were running behind.. ok fine. I tried to pick it up in the store but an employee said I HAD to go through the drive through since that's how I ordered. So I did that. Originally the food was suppose to be ready at 5:27pm; it was actually complete at 5:40.... I'm trying this right now at 6:40pm an entire hour later because I HAD to go through drive through and obviously stuck between other vehicles. As per the manager, this location is not a regular Panera. It's considered a Panera Cafe, so it does not have all the items (including baked goods as a regular one). That's what she told me when I wanted my favorite breakfast item, a souffle, and it was not on the menu. Also, it is very small, cramped, and not super clean. We were definitely disappointed in this location. We left and had breakfast somewhere else. I'm not sure why El Paso, most of the time, gets the bottom of the barrel with some chains. We have also been disappointed with the Black Bear Diner and Earl of Sandwich in El Paso. We'll just add Panera to the list and enjoy them out of town. read more

The absolute worst location ever. From how packed and backed up they were at 5:39 pm on a Friday night, this must be the only Panera in all of El Paso. I ordered on my app at 4:50pm and the order preparation did not even start at 5:40pm. I asked for a refund and it was like Black Friday there. They have online orders that came in prior to these walk ins and they didn't prioritize. Overwhelmed, understaffed for the amount of people in the restaurant. My order was $99, so glad I was able to cancel the entire order and head over to Raising Canes. Spent $48 got enough for same group with Chick Fila type service. Finally took the time to visit Panera since it opened in El Paso. Let me tell you I was surprised and disappointed with it. This Panera makes me want to never come back. First of all it is so small, limited seat and not welcoming at all. I do not know if this owner has been to other Panera"s but no booths, no music being played, no bread on display to show it's being baked fresh. Get this, restroom locked as if it's in a location downtown where you have ppl that are not paying customers using it. Ended up sitting near the door and was next to the windows that look as if they hadn't been cleaned since it was built. The only thing that was good was the young kid that took our order. Very nice and the that goes a long way in El Paso . Say the least I definitely will not be coming back, I'll just wait to visit a Panera when I go to San Antonio. read more

It took 50 min to get a sandwich with 6 cars ahead of me. It cost $15 for one sandwich. The manager apologized and said it was their system and they are getting hit hard with orders- I could have gone to the restaurant next door and had a meal cheaper and faster. Ate there on 1/2/2024. The menu seems to be awful small. Used to dine in the store in Broken Arrow OK and it was much better. Ordered a loaf of tomato-basil bread which should have been more tastier but it wasn't. Tasted like regular bread and had very little color. Maybe the employees in this store haven't been able to bake as of yet. Nevertheless, my wife and I were disappointed. We may return in a few months. read more

Workers are just walking around and talking the whole time. We decided to try Panera Bread here since we have visited Panera in several other cities. El Paso Panera Bread does not compare at all. I ordered the pick two which were the Chipotle Chicken Avocado Melt and Cream of Chicken & Wild Rice Soup. My husband ordered the Onion Soup and Toasted Steak with White Cheddar. After a long wait our order was finally called. Looking at the Chicken sandwich when it arrived it looked like it had no filling at all. There was a small dollop of shredded chicken, probably less then 2oz only in the middle of the bread. I had to spread that on the rest of bread. It looked nothing like the beautiful sandwich pictured on the menu. The Chicken soup tasted like there was uncooked flour in the soup almost like they tried to extend it but didn't cook it enough. My husband said his sandwich was very bland. I don't understand why the owner of this location is not looking at all the reviews and thinking, something is wrong and I will lose my business if I don't keep up the quality of food. People want to love Panera Bread. but this location does not compare. We were so disappointed. read more

Everyone keeps on forgetting that this store is new and is going to be backed up for months, hence why your orders take a while. Have patience with the store and I promise you they will do anything to make your experience better.I had put in an order ahead of time but I had gotten off of work earlier than expected, but I couldn't pick it up for another hour 1/2 until I had asked the employees. I want to shout out 3 people for helping me to get the order earlier. Dylon, Maddie, and Jared for making my experience easy and streamline when the store was backed up and exorbitantly packed. They made sure I felt at ease every single step of the way. The food has always been my comfort fast food from my childhood but moving to El Paso was kinda hard letting go of Panera until now.
