I had the opportunity to check out a soft opening at Dave's Hot Chicken as a press invite. This is my second time trying the chicken since I first had one from the East side. I learned Dave's hot chicken is too hot for me so went for mild today. Service was great as was the meal. It was a little slow but I assune everyone is figuring things out. Overall, I have no complaints at all. There are seats inside as well as outside. Then the entrance is in the rear so it may seem confusing at first. The official opening is this Friday. read more

Great slider! Ok first i had an issue with the register. We ordered to go and the register asked me to select a tip. Considering that it's fast food to-go, i was going to leave a 1-2$ not the 15% minimum. It asked if i approved the 23$ total or if i wanted to add more. I understood what total do i approve, i pressed 25$ thinking 2$ add-on tip. However it charged a 25$ making my total 45. Manager was super understanding and immediately refunded. And i paid again. I made the mistake of saying no heat when ordering, and it had no flavor at all, but the sauces were great so i did enjoy it! Combined the Daves sauce with the honey. Next time will order light heat. I ordered the #1 combo, which included two mild tenders, toast, and fries. However, I wasn't impressed with the seasoning. I didn't like how the food was completely smothered in it; even the fries had seasoning on them, making it hard to escape that flavor. On the positive side, the service was excellent. The guy who took my order thru the drive-thru was friendly and went above and beyond, which is why I left a tip. For my meal and the tip, I paid close to $19, which felt excessive. Food was great! We been wanting to eat here since they opened and finally had the chance. Wife and I both ordered the one tender one slider each however I ordered it "hot" and felt as if it wasn't hot enough. I like my spice however next time I will need to order the "reaper".
