Pretty good! I got to taste Healthy Shack's food after a recent doctor's appointment at Texas Tech…read more The good thing about going to Texas Tech is that there's always food trucks parked outside! I always try different ones whenever I go to a doctor's appointment there. I don't like going to doctor's appointments (does anyone actually like them??) but...I always look forward to trying food from the food trucks parked there! Gotta make the best out of the visit I guess? Lol. Anyway... Healthy Shack offers a variety of healthy foods including vegan entrees. Even though I try to eat vegan foods from time to time...I wasn't in the mood when I visited Healthy Shack. I decided to go with their brisket tacos. They weren't bad! The brisket and veggies were tasty. I didn't really taste any cheese or salsa in them. I feel like these two items could make or break a taco. I also didn't receive any chile/salsa on the side! I thought that was kind of weird! It's hard for me to eat a taco without a side of chile/salsa! I was starving so I tried not to think about it too much. Sorry but just for these two items alone, I have to deduct a star. It's sort of like a cardinal sin (imo) to eat a taco without salsa and cheese! There was some type of sauce in the taco but it wasn't like the green or red salsa I'm used to. Am I overreacting? I don't think so. Lol. The brisket tacos came with a salad and a side of pineapple with chili powder and chamoy. I wasn't crazy about the salad. It had some kind of dressing I didn't really like, along with cranberries, carrots and cucumbers with sunflower seeds on top of it. I hardly ate any of it. The pineapple was really good. I ate all of that along with two tacos. There was three tacos but I saved one for Chico, my dog. He devoured it like in five seconds. I would consider ordering a side of the pineapple from Healthy Shack. I think I would only order the tacos if there was red or green salsa with cheese included. Maybe I missed them in the tacos? Overall, a good experience. I believe the owner (Victor) was helping me out. He was nice and friendly. He gave me a punch card in case I return. I don't recall what you get after 10 visits. I had a hard time hearing him because it was pretty loud. Let's support local!

The Jenga, ping pong and other games are lovely. The outdoor padel court is great and has a two seating areas outside if you're with a group where some want to play and some do not. There are several outdoor pickleball courts, and more indoor (A/C) pickleball courts. Service for the courts is especially friendly and helpful. Food and beverage servers are also usually solid. I like the option to order from the QR code menu when you're outside/playing. Needs improvement #1: the beer selection is mediocre to bad -- and they are often out of what people want. If you're a beer drinker, odds are you end up settling here. Get rid of most existing beers except the majors, add a popular beer like Shiner Bock, and choose an entirely new slate of crafts on draft -- and offer some more variety in bottles. Needs improvement #2: the food. It's uninspired and really mediocre. I've been here with a group as large as 18, and no one especially loved their food. It's all very OK. (I think the food caters to a bland family/child palate more so than it should for a place that is usually 80% adults.) I would be here 1-2x month if the beer and food menus improved.

I really enjoy this place…read more If you're into pickleball or not, I think you can enjoy this event center slash court for everything it has to offer. Last time we were here it was in the morning and the big shed at the front was prepping to host a birthday party. Plenty of room, plenty of lawn loungers with games like field connect 4, and lawn Jenga spread out across the grounds The staff are friendly and they are always trying. The kitchen is a scratch kitchen, they have some hit and misses. Nachos were good, burgers were less good. Let's mention the obvious - pickleball. They have four outdoor and five indoor cours. They also have a padel court on the south end of the courts. Very new, no saggy nets. When the sun is on the down side the courts get busy. If you are outdoors you don't have to suffer, there are four cabanas supported by the bar right behind the courts. They are nice, and with the roaming servers it's full service. Game on!

Delicate wrapper, crisp finish, chorizo and Italian sausage filling. And yet they were light. Sooooo good. Don't miss the lettuce wraps either. Beef, chicken, kim chi. Yum. We also ordered beef stroganoff (must order dish here), green chile Alfredo, whipped feta burger, and strawberry ginger salad. All are highly recommended. No tipping policy. Staff are paid appropriately. I 100% approve of that. If this place was in Austin or Houston it would have an hour wait for a table. I added bacon strips on the side. It did not disappoint. The flavor of the bacon was a great addition. Everything tastes better with bacon! I was simple with my drink order and had an orange mimosa (several). Great flavor. Makes it difficult to get just one. They do offer other flavors and flights along with many other cocktail choices and beer. I recently tried the steak and eggs, a new menu item. You have options when you order. I ordered mine with scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes, bacon (of course), and toast with my medium steak. The eggs were delicious and so fluffy. The flavor of the bacon went so well with the eggs and the potatoes. I like steaks. To me, the flavor of the steak was missing something compared to the rest of the plate. This has been the only time that I have not finished everything on the plate. I'm sure the seasoning of the steak will improve . I'm not saying the flavor was bad making the steak inedible. The flavor was just not to my liking. This does not stop me from returning and I still highly recommend that you stop by. I haven't gotten to the prices! I have been to brunch in many places across the country and in Texas. Sadly, many are disappointing and seem to feel that because it's "brunch" they can over charge for their plates and especially their drinks. I am so glad Nomel does not. The location is not conveniently close to the highway, but it is definitely worth the drive.
