Quick service and surprisingly clean. There's not an abundant of seating, but there were some empty tables and booths when I came. I ordered coffee and pastries on the kiosk. It's good to know they were making pastries fresh and right then because I saw an almond pastry in their display, but it wasn't on their pastry kiosk options. Really clean Panera! Food was delish! I had a broccoli/cheddar soup(came w/ baguette) & a Greek goddess chicken Cobb salad w/ green iced tea. My cousin had a broccoli/cheddar soup & water.Service was quick & person giving out food was ok. Inside is spacious & has plenty of booths,chairs, & tables. I'm surprised this place has bad ratings. The service here was good for the most part. I loved the bread bowls they have. My daughter loves the mac and cheese they got. Initially announcing its grand opening on May 20th, Edison's third Panera Bread store opened three days later with Free You Pick Two® for a Year certificates for the first 100 guests in line (as well as an apology by way of a free pastry though with no explanation for the delay). Located next to Playa Bowls on the corner of the strip mall next to Wawa, this store has a small patio with outdoor seating as well as a drive-thru lane that wraps around the alley between Panera and Playa. The interior features a wrap-around layout as well: condiment/drink station in the center and bakery/cashier in the far right corner with the pick-up area/kitchen in the back corner by the restrooms separated by a long walkway. I'm a little disappointed that this location only has three touch-screen self-serve kiosks but also surprised to see absolutely no one using them during the lunch rush. The kiosks are one of the newer models with the Verifone chip readers and loaded with the horribly minimalist UI that has the blinding white background. They read magnetic stripes as well, though I haven't tried them with contactless payments. This store has decided not to give the kiosks their own dedicated space, creating the all-too-common scenario where you'll have to nudge aside customers waiting in line for the cash registers in order to even get to the kiosks and hope that those other customers aren't glancing over your shoulder when you order. The other slight disappointment/improvement is the new order fulfillment system: the buzzers actual buzz now but only because instead of a food runner bringing your food to your table you have to pick it up yourself from the kitchen counter. This is true for both dine-in and take-out customers. I support this practice if it cuts down on headcount, but only if it also doesn't create a bottleneck. All things considered, this is the best Panera Bread in Edison that is not anywhere near a shopping mall. The food and service are both acceptable. The restrooms and beverage stations are well-stocked and clean. The booths at the end are clearly where most college students with laptops will be aiming to sit. I can't believe the Subway two doors down is still in business. read more

I can count on one hand the negative experiences at this Panera, but no place is perfect so let's be real...I work in customer service too so I get it. I came here on my lunch break last week and had THE best customer service experience I have had in a long time at any establishment (store, restaurants, etc), probably the best ever. I'm sorry if I spelt his name wrong, but Sonje (who I learned usually works the later shift and was just conversing a day shift) was incredible sweet, enthusiastic, and patient from the drive through speaker to the window. I was smiling the whole time I was ordering because I couldn't believe it. I had the opportunity to tell him in person and how much I appreciated it. There are nice/kind people at this store and many other everyday places, but he exceeded that and was just overall a refreshing individual. I hope the management and/or cooperate recognize him for all he does because that kind of attitude is like gold in the hell that customer service industries are. Absolutely awful. The Door Dash guy left the food on the sidewalk outside my office building, even though the deliver instructions said our office door is open, 'leave with receptionist'. It sat out there probably 15 minutes before someone told me about it. The food was as bad as the delivery. I didn't ask for croutons, but they not only gave them to me, it was in the soup ALREADY, soggy and gross, not on the side like it is supposed to be. read more

I took about 2 years off of going to Panera Bread because the quality of their food was terrible. If your watching the food you consume for nutrition this is definitely not a healthy choice. Today I decided to try half of a sandwich and a salad and got a hibiscus tea sugar free. Hibiscus tea was amazing and I looked at the other green tee with sugar and it was 31 grams! That's ridiculous. Anyway my review is I will never go back there as it's $12 for half turkey avacodo BLT and 1/2 Fuji apple salad! That's more than buying lunch in NYC and ridiculous. The employees that work there were very nice and they seemed to be busy and somewhat crowded for 1pm. That deserves five stars but the price and good totally not with it. I love the edison location on Woodbridge Avenue but the corporate office needs to examine their prices as I would rather spend that kind of money on a nice dinner at an actual restaurant not a sandwich and soup place. read more

Ordered them for delivery- although they have a limited menu which is completely understandable. They offer contactless delivery which is great for the situation we are currently placed in. The food came fresh and plentiful and the delivery was accurate. We live a 5 minute drive from Panera and I like how you can track the food on the app so you know when they are arriving. They also have there own employees doing the delivery so I feel that it limits how many hands my food is in. Great spot to order from and will definitely being ordering from again! read more

Panera needs to hire more competent employees who can read. Multiple times I have ordered and put in the special instructions to change the bread because I am allergic to the bread originally on the sandwich. Almost EVERY time there is a problem with my order and I'm sick of it. Last time ordering from this Panera until they find employees who can actually do their job. I enjoy coming in most days for a quick iced coffee run. It's my fav for coffee, but the place is so understaffed that almost every time I come in the creamers are empty. Then I have to hurt someone down to refill the canister. The staff is always friendly and helpful but it makes a quick run into a Where in the world is Waldo to just get some half and half. Do not order from this location! I placed a very specific online catering order for a corporate event. The order was placed 5 days in advance and when it arrived it was completely wrong! I did not receive the bagels and pastries I requested and paid for online. Our company is extremely disappointed that we spent $300 on a collection of unrequested raisin and cinnamon bagels. What am I supposed to do with all the random bagel flavors and incorrect pastries that I received? The point of ordering online is to eliminate the possibility of miscommunication therefore I do not understand where this order went wrong. I called the manager about our incorrect order - apparently, the location had a "very busy weekend" and did not have enough dough to produce the bagels and pastries we requested and paid for. Essentially, we received all the left-over bagels and pastries that no one else wanted. There was no communication that we would be receiving the wrong order, so it was an unpleasant surprise at our important company event. The worst part was that the manager did not offer any resolution to the situation even after admitting they wrongfully fulfilled our order. If you are a customer who values attention to detail, you're likely better off ordering from a small, local business owner for your catering needs. However, if you don't mind wasting $300 on food that will go in the trash, order from this location. On the bright side, at least we received the orange juice that we asked for. Food is good. Staff is very nice. Since it is new the place is kept clean. Frontega Chicken minus the tomatoes sandwich is delicious. The chicken soup hits the mark. A good assortment of beverages. I would have given a 5 star rating but this place is definitely pricey. They need to have a better rewards program or lower the prices to entice more people. Good food, but this about the delivery. They left my food outside of my job which is a big company, they didn't call or even read any of my notes. I was waiting for a phone call (I even left my number). Finely 45 min after they said they dropped off my food, I ran around the building to see if some incompetent person just left it outside. The bag of food was ripped apart and half of my order was gone. I called them several times and I couldn't get a hold of anyone. I spent an additional $7 delivery charge that's with tip and got nothing but shit service. I told my coworkers this and they said this is the reason they have stopped ordering from them completely. Then another coworker said she only received half her order. So, I will NEVER again order from them. Even when I physically go there, I get wrong orders & half an order. I'm done. I've found a hair in my salad before, I've ordered from them as delivery and they forgot my water, I ordered a salad from them today and they didn't include the dressing. They've messed up my order numerous times at this point. Called to complain and they offered a free salad for next time. So I'm expected to eat a dry salad because of your mistake? Just opened up recently so everything is new and clean. We definitely needed more dining options in the area so this is a great addition for the local businesses. We ordered rapid pickup today and they were quick and efficient. Even with a little hiccup with a missing item the team at Panera pulled it off and got me my missing item without skipping a beat, they were friendly and personable!
