Panera is back with some really good sandwiches . Panera used to have some good sour dough sandwiches 4-5 years back and they suddenly stopped it . They are now back with some amazing sandwiches after 3-4 years ! I just loved it . Nice location. Right on rt 1 and close to many different shops/restaurants . Parking is good . Lots of parking spots . Lots and lots of space inside to sit and eat . Huge place . Ordering was easy and quick . They made the sandwich in 12-15 mins .. nice service . I had toasted garden caprese sandwich . There was an option of half and full , and I ordered full . Full was like half :) wish their portions are a bit bigger . Tasted so good though. I had a lovely experience today at Panera bread in Edison. The staff were extremely friendly and nice. I sat there for hours doing school work and there was no time limit to sit which was really nice. The cookie was absolutely delicious!!!! It tastes like a sugar cookie with m&m on top. My chai latte was very good too. I also thought it was reasonably priced both items came out to less then $10. Very clean inside as well. Staff even came around and picked up small things like napkin off the floor. I'll definitely be back read more

They were running out of pastries when I came in the afternoon, so I decided to try the cherry pastry. It was quite tart and sticky, not as good as the almond or pecan pastry. I have the Sip Club membership, and sometimes come here for coffee. There's a lot of variety for the seating, but sometimes it's clean, sometimes it's not. Disappointed at 840am TODAy, the person in front of me took the last soufflé. When it was my turn at the register, I asked how long do I have to wait for the next soufflé batch. I was told Panera only makes 2 batches of soufflé per day!!!! What!?! Really. You serve breakfast until 1030am and you only make 2 batches of soufflé regardless of the time. Pulled off interstate for a quick bite to eat... Congrats this location has earned a fat "0" from me. Horrible customer service, foul language being used amongst each other. Employees need hair nets when working with food. I nicely asked employee to disregard the chipotle sauce on pizza, her response " we don't have any sauce and it's made already anyways". My response: None....I refuse to match low class energy. To owner: I chose to take the high road and not match rudeness with the educated. I love that Panera Bread is located close to Menlo Park Mall. It's nice to be able to grab a quick and healthy lunch before taking a stroll around the mall. I am a fan of Panera's You Pick Two. You can choose 2 of the following: a cup of soup, half sandwich, or half salad. Their Broccoli Cheddar, Creamy Tomato and New England Clam Chowder soups are some of my faves. They taste great and are well prepared. I have been a big fan of their Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad since I was a teen. The chicken is seasoned well. I love the cheesy croutons and Caesar dressing. I really wish they sold their Caesar dressing in stores. With the You Pick Two, you also get a choice of a side item (ie. Whole Grain Baguette, French Baguette, Potato Chips, or an Apple). If you like green tea, definitely try their Iced Green Tea. It's really refreshing on a hot day! read more

This Panera is one of the worst I've been to. The service is horrible and that's putting it lightly. I had a mobile pick up order that was ready, they made me wait an extra 20mins at the drive thru window with 0 communications only to find out after waiting all that time that they were making food for the cars behind me instead of just giving me my order. The location is at the awkward diagonal intersection of Rt. 1 and Parsonage Road, next to the Sonic's. No matter what direction you're coming from you'll have to make an unregulated left turn to get into the parking lot, which is a pain during lunch rush or after-work hours. Nevertheless, this location still seems to get a lot of traffic from locals and employees working in the Metropark area, which accounts for some of the reasons I will probably not be returning: 1. Noise level. The sound of silverware clanging against plates mixed with the unruly conversation from staff and customer alike (heard even during the end of lunch rush at 2:30 PM) makes this Panera less than ideal for anyone wishing to eat, study, or work in some semblance of peace. Unlike other Panera locations, this one has mostly open-table seating and fewer booths, which make for little privacy and poor sound isolation. Unless you sit in one of the tables in the sunroom at the east end of building and wear noise-isolating earbuds, expect to put up with the sounds and ambience of a busy cafe or diner. 2. Cleanliness. Tables have never been clean at any Panera I have ever been to, and this location is no different. I can clean up crumbs and spilled coffee on tables and vinyl seats myself, but sticky floors and counters in dining areas and restrooms are hallmarks of a McDonald's or a Chuck E. Cheese's. 3. Service. Interactions with store associates were relatively pleasant. However, all three varieties of unsweetened iced tea were unavailable during my visit, and even after asking a store associate to fresh the empty dispensers I had to wait an hour before I could drink anything other than coffee or soda. I like this Panera bread as a great spot to camp out and work or meet with friends. It's a pretty big space but it does get crowded especially during lunch hours and later on in the day. A lot of people also hold business meetings and you can check out the back room to have meetings and close it off to the public. WiFi is passwordless and fast, and I've stayed for hours at a time (buying food and drink of course) without anybody bothering m The food and drinks are like any other Panera bread. I enjoy it but it is a little pricey. I like their Cuban sandwich and the Italian (they're discontinuing the Italian it makes me so sad ) as well as the grilled cheese and most of their soups. I like their Mac n cheese too. They have a lot of variety, especially with their you choose 2 option. Service is great at this location! If you're dining in, they give you a pager to put on your table and they will bring you your food. Supervisors are very willing to pick up the work during rush hours as well. Cashiers are pleasant and friendly overall. They have a new employee I think who I met today and was a little off put by.. she didn't smile at all. Like not once, not while greeting, not while taking my order, not while saying have a good day. Not something I would really complain about but just I get along with most of the servers here so thought I'd mention. It's a very clean place also, they wipe off the tables immediately after people leave and you can always see someone cleaning. Update: please remind your workers to bring a straw when delivering drinks that need one.. doesn't make sense to deliver to seat if customers have to get up to get a straw One thing is the bathrooms are incredibly small. Women's restroom only has two stalls, one regular and one handicapped. This Panera is disgusting. The restaurant itself is dirty. I'm not sure if they are understaffed but they need to clean more. My boyfriend and I couldn't even find a clean table to dine at so we were forced to take our food to go and eat in the car. The place wasn't packed either so that wasn't the reason for tables to be dirty. The pastries were old as well. I got a chocolate crossiant and my boyfriend got a chocolate cookie. Both stale. This Panera is conveniently located on Route 1 South, directly across from Menlo Park Mall. It was my first time here and I was in a hurry and looking to grab a cup of java in a pinch. I was pleasantly surprised to find a drive-thru there (Yay). I've been to several Paneras and this was my very first time seeing a drive-thru. I arrived at Panera and joined the drive-thru line. I noticed 3 cars ahead of me and it didn't seem like the line was moving but from the time I joined the line, from when I grabbed my food was a total of about 6 and 1/2 minutes- PURE EXCELLENCE and I commend them for their extreme efficiency and dedication to the drive-thru. When I pulled up to the window to order, I asked about vegan breakfast options. The server offered some type of egg white sandwich which confused me since eggs are not vegan. I dismissed her suggestion and ordered a bear claw (also not vegan but oh well) as well as a caramel cafe latte with almond milk. The server was kind and professional. She spoke clearly and articulately which I truly appreciated. My coffee was unsweetened. I'm taking away one star for this since I had to drink unsweetened coffee. I do realize in hindsight that I probably should have repressed that I wanted a latte with sweetener but it's been a very long time since I've had coffee so I didn't think to ask for it. Not to mention, most of the time latte is naturally sweet but this one wasn't so the server should have asked me if I wanted it. I used to love Panera but as someone else mentioned, they have got very sloppy. They make the most poorly constructed sandwich as it is always falling apart. I had the tuna today and the sparse amount of tuna wasn't evenly properly spread in the bread. I once had a tomato and mozz sandwich and the tomato was only in one side of the sandwich. Sloppy Sloppy Sloppy. I have always enjoyed their soups. My favorite is the tomato soup. But, at almost $10 for half of a sloppy sandwich and a small bowl of soup and having to clean up after myself...yes, that sorting of the tray items is a PITA (and I don't mean bread), I might as well go to a local diner. read more

This Panera is one of my favorites. Of course it has all the standard "You Pick 2", bagel, beverage, pastry options that others have, but the staff and set up really help make for a comfortable experience. Employees: friendly. All of them. The person at the register offering recommendations and patience when you can't make up your mind. The person building your order who makes sure they have your side of choice absolutely correct (wheat not white, apple vs chips). The person wiping tables and offering to bus away your finished tray. The manager who swings by to make sure you're happy where you're sitting. Thank you everyone - you're wonderful. I also like the structure of this Panera. It's sub-divided into three different areas which allows you the feeling of a Panera crowd, but also keeps things moderately quiet and reduces traffic. There's a side room that's walled off from the order counters, a main dining space in the center, and another side room twisted off the main center (terrible description, but you'll get it when you see it). The last few perks I'd call out is that coffee is always fresh, location is good for ducking off Route 1 or escaping Menlo Park Mall, and that patrons are typically friendly. The food here used to be made quick and consistently. The staff used to be very nice and kept the store clean. Today I came initially through the drive thru but it took so long that I just parked and went inside. I ordered a single sandwhich and it comes out after a half hour and it's made wrong. The avocado was hard and the whole Sandwhich was falling apart when I received it. The new staff no longer care and are no longer friendly. The food quality used to be better and presentable. Now it's a mess! When I went in I was just going to eat it in their dining room but it was so dirty I had to take my food out. The prices were always high but it's still somehow going up but with no more food added. $11 for a simple salad is crazy. read more

This is probably one of the worst panera that I have been to mainly because of the customer service. I waited patiently in line to buy 4 gift cards. There was only one register open. When it was my turn, there was a problem with ringing up the gift cards. The girl who worked the register had me swipe my card about four times because she tried ringing each card individually. While this was occurring the manager took over another register to help the person behind me instead of addressing my issue first. Finally the manager gets on the register and does the same thing, makes me swipe my card a few more times. Finally a third person tries to assist with the situation and yup not helpful at all is what I say. They finally figure out that the gift card system is down. When I asked for them to call another store to assure that I could purchase my gift cards there, they offered no such help and the girl walked away from me. I finally asked well what should I do wait or go to another store ... Which I don't know why I should be asking this... And the manager said yes it could take hours until the system was up. It would have been nice #1 for them to problem solve my issue when the manager was assisting me.. But no she was just as lost as the rest of the workers. Lost twenty minutes of my life to people who don't know how to do their job. read more

I don't frequent this particular Panera as I have one closer to me, but every once in a while I will stop here. No more will I. Today was a crazy busy day and all I wanted was to stop and get a iced coffee and get home. I went in because I like to make my own coffee and I belong to the coffee club. So I go in and it's a little busy but I'm just getting coffee...no coffee. Empty container. So I speak with one of the counter people and let them know. Ten minutes later, I ask again. They are making it. Twenty minutes go by and I'm still standing, with cup in hand, still no coffee. Last person I ask tells it's coming. I give up. Leave my cup and go. This seems to be a situation at this Panera. Does it come as a surprise that people come in and buy coffee? You would think so by the fact I come in and find none, again.
