Sadly, we left disappointed. I stopped here to grab a bagel and cream cheese, and got the bagel just in a bag and the cream cheese thrown in there on the side. The cream cheese was wrong too. The food and service is generally pretty good. From time to time there are mistakes, but they are good about correcting such issues! Lauran - who is generally taking orders at the register and knows all the regular customers, is a jewel. She's a true asset and great with her customer service skills. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars: The Mens bathroom used to be clean. It's been disgusting for months now. I can assure you, it hasn't been cleaned in months. The urine smell coming from the Mens bathroom hits you even before you get anywhere near the bathroom door. When using the bathroom or washing your hands, you almost have to hold your breath - it smells that bad! I guess nobody wants the job to clean the bathroom, however Panera does serve food, so it should be a priority. The bathroom lately also lacks soap to wash hands and paper towels quite often. The dining area, while semi-clean, lacked the usual attention to detail. It's not quite the Panera I remember from before. I went to this location yesterday to meet up with my colleague who was heading to O'Hare, and we needed a place that would have easy transit to the airport and free and easy parking for me, as I was driving in. This worked well for that purpose. The staff was super nice when they greeted me, and it wasn't overly crowded around 8:30am. It picked up a bit later, but then was pretty quiet again when I left just before noon. It's not the most comfy/cozy Panera, but it gets the job done. But ugh, the coffee was disgusting. It tasted like chemicals combined with some sort of pickled onion type aftertaste. I was a "sip club" member for a year so I spent the vast majority of 2022 drinking Panera iced black coffee almost daily from multiple locations. It's always been reliable. I cancelled my membership awhile ago because they jacked up the price and it no longer made financial sense, but I like the iced coffee well enough so I ordered one yesterday assuming it was a trusty option. I couldn't drink it. I've never experienced that at any Panera I've been to. I almost wonder if someone forgot to rinse out the cooler after they cleaned it, because it tasted like cleaner. I refilled it with iced tea instead, which was fine. I don't really like iced tea, so it wasn't good (no fault of Panera -- I just hate tea), but at least it didn't taste like cleaning chemicals. We stopped here to dine-in, after dropping my parents in the airport. It was a random find as this was the closest Panera. The place looked clean and well organized. We like Panera breakfast especially Bagels with flavored cream cheese. We can always count on some delicious breakfast on the fly. Quiet a delicious selection of bagels and pastries. Ordered : Chipotle Chicken Avocado wrap Mac and cheese Bagels It's great that you can swap out breads and ingredients to suit your taste. Our order was fast and accurate. Wraps were fresh and tasty. This particular location is conveniently located with walking distance of the hotels in the area across the street from Sonesta hotel in Rosemont IL. O'Hare is within spitting distance as is access to the interstate They have excellent coffee & pastries along w/great soups, salads & sandwiches. It's a nice Panera, a little small maybe, but it's all the good stuff I expect as I really do enjoy the chain. I've even done the Sip Club so I pop into them frequently as I travel the area. The only complaint about this location, the sole reason for losing a star, is that the bathroom looks well cared for and clean but it reeks horribly of stale urine. They really need to bleach bomb the hell out of the bathroom. Not install an air freshener to add stench on stench but do an actual, proper deep clean. Well it is Panera..Coffee is weak and usually cold. Very slow service in peak times due to only one register open..3 people in line can make you wait 15 minutes just to order. Then you need to wait for your food. If you are in a hurry. On the way to work. Or only have a half hour lunch and want to eat there. You are out of luck. You woll not make it. It takes a lot of managerial skills to know that you need to open two registers. We all know this at work. So we all stay out of the line here. This is the closest location next to the Pearson testing center. There's a slight wait for my hot coffee/tea sometimes. The great thing is their self-serve kiosk when i'm not really interested in talking to anyone (covid was a great excuse for this. hah.). All their pastries look old. The place looks nice with a clean layout and plenty of seating. The order management and quality control on the other hand was very bad the day I went. I had placed a mobile order for an egg white, avocado and spinach sandwich and a black coffee. I got to Panera about 5 minutes after placing the order and expected to wait another 5 or so minutes for my order to be ready. I saw my name on a monitor that showed the order was in the preparing stage. After my name appeared on the ready list I went to get it. I stood at the counter for a minute and then asked about the order. A lady told me to ignore the screen and take a seat and that she would call out my name when it was ready. After 8 minutes went by I went back and asked where my order was. They looked up my name and said it should be on the pick up shelf. It wasn't.... They said they would make my order again. I went back to my seat. For the past 6-7 minutes they kept saying order for Krishna is ready, "breakfast sandwich and a cappuccino". From my seat I saw them open the Krishna order and realize they mistagged it. That was my order but they had the coffee wrong too. I was fine with that, mistakes happen. After a few minutes I see them out a coffee cup and a bag on the counter without calling a name. I went up there and my name was on the receipt next to the order so I took it. Went back to my seat and took a bite of the sandwich....tasted no avocado. Opened it up and there was no avocado. Took the sandwich back and they said they would add avocado. Got my sandwich back and was eating it then took a sip of my coffee, which should have been black, but like and behold it was a cappuccino. I just drank it. Worst Panera experience ever. This Panera location is relatively new in the Des Plaines area and kind of remote. I'm usually used to Panera locations being next to a shopping or strip mall. We ordered online for pickup from the breakfast menu and I must say, their breakfast food is highly underrated in my opinion! It might be relatively new but I highly recommend their breakfast items. So we ordered the egg white, spinach, and avocado sandwich with an oat wheat bagel and the chipotle chicken wrap with egg and avocado. Both were pretty tasty, one criticism on the chipotle chicken wrap would be the ingredients were not distributed evenly. The first bite, all you can taste was the egg and the chicken were towards the bottom. The coffee at Panera is so underrated! I am now a huge fan, no wonder why they offer an unlimited coffee subscription. The facility of this location is clean and well maintained, you can tell it's new. What happened ? The lady at the cashier asked me to use the microwave to heat up my coffee ! No regular or light coffee served in the counter. Only have dark coffee and hazelnut flavored coffee served at the counter. The dark coffee pot was almost empty. It is not hot, luke warm and the worst part is .... it is watery, no coffee bean taste at all. I was about to ask if she can brew some hot coffee... but she responded to my question so fast, so quick .... I said the coffee is not hot ... "you can use the microwave to heat it up" .
