Never again! I walked in, and a charming employee immediately offered to take my order. (she was a young, 20ish African American, and I'm describing her only because she should be commended, and I am hoping management will find video footage of what transpired). Suddenly, a middle aged, short hispanic woman started yelling at me (I'm describing her, because she should be fired, not because of her ethnicity) and telling me to go to another counter (toward the left). She started screaming at me in jibberish. I speak English and a few Asian languages and some Spanish. I didn't recognize it and her finger pointing and hostility was totally uncalled for. This woman is a nutjob. I walked out... Never to return again... to any Corner Bakery. I've been a customer for roughly 10 years. LOVE the cob salad. I'm done. Ultimately, whoever is managing this location, isn't doing their job. read more

After coming to this location, it's hard to go to the other ones. It's spacious with plenty of comfortable seating. Parking isn't really an issue either. It's a nice place to start your morning. It's been very peaceful each time I've been here. I can see the draw to this place. Wish more locations were as spacious and comfortable as this one. The service here seems to be a bit faster too than the other locations. Not sure what they're doing differently but it's working. Taste of the food has been consistent each time too. Looking forward to more meals here. read more

The ordering kiosks are the worst invention in the history of the world. Probably took us 10 minutes to order. We hate it and hate corner bakery for the awful experience. The older people that ordered after us got loud with the manager about their terrible kiosk experience. At the end of my kiosk experience, it asked if I wanted to email/print the receipt. I chose "print" the receipt. It never printed, pathetic. Remove the kiosks and bring back humans The kiosks also requested we tip for service and provided several options. Tip, for what, exactly? Nobody took our order. Where does the electronically collected tip money go? read more

The food and service have declined from some months ago. Not sure if management changed but I am going to take a break from going to Corner bakery. The staff seem to be going through the motions and can tell with the food and service, the sandwich, soup and missing items all in one visit. read more

I have not eaten at a Corner Bakery in ages. I stopped in at breakfast and convinced them that I was ready for lunch. I ordered a tomato soup and tuna sandwich to go. The roasted tomato basil soup was fine. It was still hot (enough) when I got to my desk and the flavor was good. The sandwich had a very skimpy portion of tuna. I took off the top layer of bread and the tuna was not appealing -- it was bland and tasteless. I didn't finish the sandwich. read more

It's been a while since I've been to a corner bakery since they seem to have closed a significant number of them, including both of the ones near my workplace in the Loop. They seem to have gone all in on this kiosk order system, which I suppose is a way to keep themselves a float since obviously they're having issues if they're closing stores left and right, but it's kind of a frustrating change. I placed an order and one of the bakery items in the order was apparently out of stock, but it allowed me to place add it anyway so it seems like their system must not keep a up-to-date inventory of what they actually have. The man who appeared to be the manager seemed fairly apologetic about it and perhaps I should've just taken the extra slice of cream cake since that's a more expensive item but instead I asked for a refund... but their kiosk system doesn't really want to be very helpful with refunds, either. The manager was really nice about it, but we ended up having to refund my original order and re-order a second time to be charged correctly because he wasn't able to simply refund the missing item on his end. They do have a register, but they only have a single register now, with several kiosks. Parking is plentiful. read more

When we are in the area, we will stop by and pick up some sweets here. It's a great location with lots of parking since it's in the Village Crossing shopping center. It's big with lots of seating both indoor and outdoor. In warm weather it's really nice to sit outside at one of their patio tables. My only complaint is that if you get there in the afternoon, the selection of pastries is usually very small. read more

I ordered two of the duos last night for 599 each. I now know why they are so cheap. To be honest, the tuna was awful. It was chunky, and had an awful smell. It tasted even worse. The bread was drier than anything I've ever had the best part of that meal with a potato chips. I also ordered the chicken pesto with chicken noodle soup. The chicken noodle soup was like water and the sandwich. Tasteless. I've ordered these items before and they've really been good. I don't know why it was so awful last night it wasn't even worth a 599. I won't be coming back for a while. read more

I absolutely love eating brunch/lunch here at the Corner Bakery. The restaurant provides a sense of family and belonging as soon as you walk in. The service is always stellar with servers tending to your every need and attendants always available to take your order. This place offers sandwiches, soups, pastas, pancakes, different pastries, and even cakes. Don't forget to try their well reknowned cinnamon roll or almost like a cinnamon bundt cake. The ambiance is cozy especially when you induldge in one of their coffees (my favorite is Hazelnut), which are captivating eyeopeners. read more

05/08/22 - Mothers Day. We got here @ 10:05 & didn't get to place our order until 10:20. We sat down and waited. My bacon panini sandwich came out @ 11:02 and it was Luke warm like it had been sitting for awhile. We informed the server who was working his butt off (the only server for the whole restaurant). He had to go back & get my wife's food. Gross case of understaffing for a day that is traditionally one of the busiest days, taking Mom out on her day. I have been here and have never experienced this lack of service. Definitely under staffed. It took almost 1hr from the time we walked in and the food was served. Kudos to the server that was running all over the restaurant delivering food (5 stars) to those that ate in. My bacon cheddar panini is usually excellent but it was not even hot indicating that it had been sitting for awhile. My wife bacon wrap was very good served hot. Something to keep in mind. If you fill out the survey on the receipt you will get $3.00 back on your next purchase (cha Ching - $3 is $3) By the way they were so slow the menu changed from breakfast to lunch while we were sitting there eating read more

The ambiance and the service was good. The food came fairly fast and it was tasty. Before leaving. I wanted to get a croissant to pair it with my coffee. However, when I went to the cash register, I noticed a toast packages on the side of the line and he caught my attention so I asked the woman what was that. She explained it was a semi sweet toast with cranberries. I bought just one slice just to try it in at the end of my meal. I had to buy an entire bag of it because they are absolutely delicious. I think it was one of my favorite things in this restaurant. I will definitely come back to try other things in the menu i recommend this place in Skokie! read more

When seeking options for catering, never forget the many ways Corner Bakery can assist with sandwiches, baked goods, etc. Say it's the holidays or a potluck and a shared treat is needed. Cinnamon loaf cake by the piece or a whole and the cost is as good as buying from a "stock up" shop like Costco or Sam's. (This a reminder for myself as well. This location has been here for decades and it is showing wear and not the good kind. A revamp is needed. Renovation of the interior as well as their menu. For those seeking a work day lunch, it'll do when you aren't sure just what will satisfy. The pick two is the most convenient. Though when I'm looking to enjoy a meal, Corner Bakery never comes to mind. That aspect having to do with quality. It's gone down in the last couple decades. As of late I'm lesser thrilled with this location due to their inability to address issues in real time. I've had pickup orders that were missing items or improperly prepared. For instance when ordering special menu items. If the item is not available I would assume management would contact the customer to replace the item or if that isn't available, credit for the difference. NOPE. I've reached out to upper management to address these issues with no further correspondence. read more

I love Corner Bakery; the food is always consistent. This location has TERRIBLE service. On a previous visit, I ordered my food with an extra side of mayo; when the associate (younger boy) came out with my meal, he had a side of a different sauce, so I kindly asked him to bring me mayo instead. He was very dismissive towards me. Yesterday, I walked in to place an order and was greeted with a heavy eye roll from the same associate (younger boy) behind the counter. Him and a younger girl stood behind the counter with their backs to me, chatting and laughing, leaving me standing waiting to place my order. Another gentleman came into the store for an online pickup; they spoke to him and gave him his order but ignored me until I left the store in disbelief. I will never return to this Corner Bakery location. read more

Positives: I did enjoy the food. Pomodori Chicken Panini was tasty with a hint of pesto mayo but very little chicken. Side of Honey Balsamic Grains was a little uncooked and cold but still good flavor. Chopped salad was what you would expect. Quiet environment with plenty indoor and outdoor seating. Negatives: online order to food being ready totaled 27min (12min longer than the order time projected). Many dirty tables. Value of food not so great. read more

General food service, not much more. All the eggs are scrambled, which make me believe they are liquid, not fresh. Had a power bowl, tasted ok but some grains tasted spoiled ( let's see where I am in 4 hrs). The bowl itself was cracked, so you get the true cheap cafeteria feel. Coffee is hot, not strong but not bitter. The highlight were the pancakes: fluffy but moist, just what I needed to close off the meal. They were a replacement for the toast at an extra charge so in the end this breakfast was just under $15. read more

I have to update my review because we frequent this Corner Bakery practically every week, and have never had a problem. They discontinued their Rewards program, yet instead they started emailing coupons to their regular customers and I must say, I receive a coupon EVERY WEEK! Their menu and options are very similar to Panera's, and there are a few items at Panera that I prefer. Yet who doesn't like a deal? When they're offering two full size breakfasts for $9.99 or Buy 1, Get 1 Free sandwich, or $3 off a Corner Combo, etc., plus the fact that their food is fresh, made to order and very good, they have very smart marketing, and who wouldn't be a regular? They are much more generous with their offers than Panera! I read some of the negative reviews and I can honestly say that we have never had a problem. Whether it's the Anaheim Scrambler or a breakfast sandwich or their oatmeal, there are a lot of options for breakfast. All entrees or sandwiches come with your choice of breakfast potatoes or fruit. It's pumpkin season, and my daughter loves their pumpkin spice pancakes! They have good pastries, as well...from croissants to their rich cinnamon creme coffee cake, or chocolate cake or their sinful brownie cheesecake, ETC!! For lunch or dinner we often do their You Choose Two, where you can get a soup and 1/2 a salad or 1/2 a sandwich or entree, or any combination of 2. So many options. They always have several good soups and my daughter loves their pesto cavatappi pasta. There's definitely something for everyone. While the menu is of course the same and service is similar to the Old Orchard location, parking here is much easier. Whether you're dining in or grabbing something on the go, this location is close to our home and very convenient. Keep the coupons coming and we'll keep coming!! read more

I've been here soooo many times over the years and gosh, what's taken me so long to write a review. I like how you have to work to get to this quiet corner of Village Crossing, but once here, you'll notice plenty of parking and a peaceful area unlike - the parking area in front of Chuckie Cheese. Plenty of seating and they'll walk your order over to you which is a nice touch. I like the Anaheim Scrambler for breakfast and their assortment of pastries and cakes for dessert. i really enjoy their lemon bars which are unmatched when I think about it. I was surprised that they actually make their chocolate milk from scratch for you. This is a bigger than usual Corner Bakery but for some reason, it appears to be constantly full on the weekend. read more

This is great place for breakfast. I really enjoy their coffee. Been coming here for months. Never disappoints.

Today I decided to order their new featured items. Fist I tried the Lemon Chicken Orzo Soup. It was pretty good. It was creamy and flavorable. Then I had the salmon croissant sandwich. The salmon didn't taste like it had any seasoning. The croissant was not your typical croissant. It was a multi grain wheat croissant. It was pretty good though. Fresh and soft. The tomato caprese salad was good, I think it could have been better if they used sliced cherry tomatoes instead of your typical chopped tomato. Also, the salad used is Arugala. A lot of people I know don't care for the flavor of Arugula so I hope this information is helpful for those of you who may want to order it and are expecting a different kind of salad. Overall, the meal was good. read more

Grabbed a late lunch here and I was quite happy with the food and service all around. Came in around 2pm and went for their prime rib and cheddar on focaccia, which is probably their expensive sandwich on their menu. The sandwich was legit. The prime rib was plenty and the vegetable toppings were fresh. The focaccia bread was new for me and it went well with the prime rib and cheddar. It is quite a big sandwich, so for the price it's worth it. The sandwich comes with a side of your choice and I went with a Caesar salad. They give a good amount of salad as well, and it tasted great and freshly made. The one thing I love about Corner Bakery is that if you are calorie counting like me, every food item has a calorie count on their menu. Very useful if it makes an impact on your decision. The service here was fast got my food in less than 10 minutes and brought to you at your table. This location has alot of seating from tables to booths with a nice and relax ambiance and lighting. Paid a little over $10 on my meal, but it was delicious. Overall, great experience! read more

Wished I loved this more than in rating it. I ordered a panini it was okay. Skimpy on the size for $8 but it was fine. I ordered an orzo soup and requested extra bread being as there is no option on the app so I left a note, to which I was provided an even smaller bread than last time I ordered from here. Then I ordered the Yogurt & Berries and below is what I received. Hey received a cup full of granola strawberries that were Watered down or frozen. I know they didn't listen to this note either of only strawberries because they forgot the dang yogurt in the yogurt bowl lol! I can't make this up. It's like ordering an omelette and serving just the veggies. As I'm writing this I'm realizing how unacceptable this is and am decreasing the stars from 2 to 1 lol. That was just a joke coming from working in the restaurant industry myself. I'd never allow any kitchen I work in to do something like this. Any expo? Manager? Chef? I'm here checking the orders? read more

Only one star because I can't leave zero. I've had problems here in the past with the service but today is about the food. Haven't been here in awhile but wanted some pancakes. I remember the pancakes were big and fluffy and very tasty. Not anymore. Pancakes are much smaller now and just don't taste good. Had a hard time eating them because of the taste but the aftertaste was even worse. I couldn't get rid of the soapy taste for hours. Also the bacon was black and hard. McDonald's pancakes are so much better and cost alot less. Sorry I'm done with this place. read more

I have lived in Skokie for the past 2 years but have never gone to this Corner Bakery before. I decided to stop in tonight because I was looking for something warm and filling but healthier than the typical fast food. I had the Corner Combo which comes with your choice of 2: soup, salad or 1/2 a sandwich. I had 1/2 of the Chicken Pomodori Panini with a cup of broccoli and cheddar soup. It also came with chips and a pickle spear. It was absolutely delicious! The spinach, basil, and tomato on the sandwich were so fresh! I was shocked that I had a bright red and ripe tomato on my sandwich. The soup was hot and really good. I was so full after the soup and sandwich that I couldn't even eat my chips. The meal cost just under $10 which is pretty decent these days for healthier fast food. I will definitely be back! read more
