Stopped in on my way home. I was promptly greeted. As I looked over the menu and trying to decide which sandwich I wanted, one of the employees said that they had a cheesesteak combo special for that day, so I decided to try that. I waited briefly for my order to be taken care of the dining area was neat and tidy as they were about to close within 45 minutes of my arrival. I received my food and was really impressed that they have a really good cream soda as a fountain drink. The combo includes a bag of chips and drink. The cheesesteak was fresh off the grill hot. It had nice flavor with plenty of cheese. The next time I go there and get a cheesesteak I would definitely ask for less peppers and more onion. I can't how busy it was one late afternoon. They kept the line moving along, but lots of people kept joining the line. Though the Philly steak sandwiches they were grilling up smelled so good, I thought an Italian sub (without the bread, so essentially, a salad) would be quick. (Narration: It was not quick). I have been to multiple times over the past 15yrs and never had a problem before but today! I Stopped in to order a number 8 and substitute the turkey for roast beef. I was told it would be an extra charge and I replied with no problem. The young lady then asked do you still want the bacon on it. I replied yes please, to which she stated again that's gonna be another extra charge. I asked why? It comes with bacon. I was told because it's a trend to put roast beef with ham. I said, so change it to a number 9 and substitute the turkey for ham. She tells me it's still going to be an extra charge for with sandwich plus extra for the bacon. I was then upset with her attitude and walked away before I would say something nasty. The young lady clearly had an attitude and I was frustrated with her, that I just had to walk away. There's nothing to complain about here. Fast and easy ordering online, reasonably priced ($9.97 for a regular turkey and provolone on parmesan bread), ready quick, and tasted very good! I recommend the parmesan bread and the ingredients taste fresh. I enjoyed every bite. This location is also very clean and open as well as festive (Chicago Blackhawks decorated theme for this month with their Blackhawks charity). Can you post a negative star. Scam operation. A week ago I went there to get a sandwich. Poorly lit and filthy. Indifferent staff who ignored me (and no customers in there). When they did acknowledge me told me they did not offer the particular sandwich I wanted and go to another JM (which I did) Posted a negative review They responded asking me to contact them. Very positive and appeared to be sincere, etc. Promptly responded with my full (email, cell phone) contact info. NO response. So they posted a positive response and then did not follow up. I went here in the early morning. Lights were partially on, door was unlocked. The guy in the back was preparing food. He comes storming out, saying we are closed, with a terrible nasty attitude. I didn't think it was closed. It could of been handled differently. I called that morning, and spoke to the District Manager. She was pleasant, and gave me a meal on them. I went to a different location. The Niles store needs much more training on Customer Service. I won't, or friends, family, will ever go back to that Niles store ever again. I have nothing but positives to say about this location. I have recently become a big fan of Jersey Mike's Subs. Typically I get the Jersey Shore on rosemary Parmesan bread with olive oil and oregano. I have to guard that one from my dog who recently developed a likeIng to sub sandwiches when one leaves the room to check e-mail. The Niles location staff is wonderful, very fast but also detail oriented making the subs and quick at the register. Nothing but accolades on the service. Great tasting fresh sandwiches. I especially love the jersey shore, a perfect combination of meats and cheese. The topping choices aren't as plentifully as Subway, but the quality at Jersey's is much better in my opinion, and sometimes less is more! Was going to eat next door at the hot dog place but wanted something relatively healthier. So glad we tried this place. Never been to a Jersey Mikes before and can say this was one of the best chains for subs. For reference, I don't care for Subway or Jimmy Johns. The Jersey Mike sub had really fresh ingredients and great bread. Had very friendly and fast service too. Jersey Mike's is definitely better than Subway and it is very fresh because they slice the meat you are getting in your sandwich right then and there. The meat isn't just laying out all day. My norm is #13: The Original Italian and it is wonderful. It is made with provolone, ham, prosciuttini, cappacuolo, salami, and pepperoni. You can get it "Mike's Way" which means they put lettuce, onions, tomatoes, spices, and red vinegar on it. You also have the choice of white or wheat bread, and you can add mayo, banana peppers, and jalapeno peppers. If you add the vinegar, the sandwich does get extremely soggy and wet, so I would ask for a little less than norm. The sandwiches are delicious and pretty large; however, I think it is pretty expensive for a sandwich. For my boyfriend and I to both get a regular-sized Italian sub with one drink and one bag of chips, it was almost $25. Again, I will still come back here knowing that it is expensive because I love it, but it is definitely something to think about when looking for a sub sandwich. It isn't the cheapest. The workers here are always very polite, and the restaurant itself is normally clean. read more

On Wednesdays, the turkey is the daily special, which is why I get it. Probably the best turkey sub I've ever had. Great quality meat. I'm a foodie, and one of my good friends (also a regular at this location) is a former chef. We believe Jersey Mike's uses a very high grade olive oil for their "juice." We also suspect the cheese is from a reputable Italian source. The vegetables are bought in fresh, several times a week, most noticeably on Monday. This review is SOLELY for the Niles, IL location on Touhy Ave! The four workers that were there ALL had their masks on incorrectly (nose exposed) and all where handling food! On top of that, I ordered four sandwiches and the messed up three of them. I ordered three Big Kahunas; one w/everything, but mushrooms and extra cheese and two w/everything, but pepppers. What I received was three sandwiches with all of the same ingredients as the regular Big Kahuna, except it looks like one had extra cheese and the other two didn't have much at all. I'm NOT happy at all. The last time I went to that location the Tuna sandwich had A LOT of salt and they workers weren't wearing their masks properly and I let it go, but this time, it was just too much. #disappointed read more

Hey Man, Hey Man, Hey Man, Ohhh Hey Man,. Seems to be the common greeting of all including ladies that seem to be regulars. Myself, I prefer a "Hey, how you doin?" Rather than the Chicago typical, "Hey Man" Jersey Mike's is to Chicago what Subway once was in the 80's. The only significant difference is that Mike's cuts their meats at the time a sandwich order is placed. (A common practice in real sub shops) The "Mike's way" to do your sandwich is reminiscent of how Subway would often prepare their cold subs. Oil, vinegar and spices, except here they grossly overdo the spraying of them to the point I had a souring feeling the rest of the day. Subtract that and do a bit of their cherry pepper relish with chipotle mayo and you have yourself a decent sub. Pricing was alright for what I ordered. A regular turkey breast and provolone with extra veggies was almost 8 bucks with tax. I'd probably try them again in either a wrap or a hot sub and definitely without the oil and vinegar. I'm thinking this is why I've always disliked Jersey Mike's. In sandwich making one needs to be careful in adding overpowering ingredients. read more

This area of Niles is saturated with restaurants...yet we never know what to eat when we're in the area - why? cause for the most part the restaurants are ho-hum boring restaurants that we've grown tired of ... thank goodness Jersey Mikes has arrived!! Yes, it's a chain, yes, they're sub sandwiches - but they are a HUGE step above your average sub sandwich. You got your hot, you got your cold - and you definitely got your flavors!! For me the clincher was the fact that when we walked in and had the "We've never been here" looks on our faces, the manager walked us through the menu, gave us some history on Jersey Mikes, asked us what we liked and suggested a couple of sandwiches. This girl is good - she hit it out of the park on both counts. I was starving so the carnivore side of me was in full force, but even so, I don't like THAT much meat on my sandwiches - the sandwich she suggested was perfect - it has some meat, but not that much - it had Provolone, prosciuttini and cappacuolo with all the trimmings (minus onions, plus hot peppers). Damn, I want another now! She took one look at my BF and said, "Now for you..." she knew this guy could probably eat an entire meat locker and suggested a more meat filled sandwich - he was in heaven. Meats are cut fresh when you order your sandwiches, bread is nice and fresh, they offer a variety of chips, fountain drinks, unsweetened iced tea (key for me as this is my drink of choice and it not usually available at most places).
