the entrance to a subway restaurant - The image shows the exterior of a Subway restaurant located in Chicago, IL. A large, oval Subway sign with green, white, and yellow colors is mounted on the building's brick wall. There is also a smaller Subway sign on the building's side. In front of the building, there are green bushes and plants along the sidewalk, with a concrete walkway nearby. The sky is partly cloudy, and the building has a modern brick facade.

This is the finest Subway in Chicago and I've got a great experience there! Their staff are super friendly and helpful. So I can say that their customer service is excellent! They can serve so fast, and smiling at their customers even it is a busy time, they will treat you so well. Their restaurant is always clean and fresh. And they will make sure that all of their customers are comfortable and satisfied at their store. This Subway is so big, so that their customers can follow the protocols like social distancing. And many people didn't expect and also surprise at their location, they have a large parking area, open-dining area, and also outdoor tables that can be used as well. This Subway is also well-managed, protocols managed very well, and of course the great staff and owners that run and manage the whole restaurant. And the most important is their delicious meals, they have a very fresh veggies. They also listening to you when you ask for something or if you need to be assist. Their restaurant is worth visiting again and again, especially when you are hungry for their meal. And for another trivia their restaurant also has a well-maintained machines. It can help them to work and serve the customers faster. Around the restaurant you can see a plenty of space to eat. They have so many dining stations so that you will be comfortable. This Subway is very consistent in making sandwiches and chickens, their ingredients are always fresh and delicious. Even their cookies is always fresh and yummy. I gave this Subway a 5-star because of their delicious foods, and good service. And for their clean and good restaurant.

The owner is always friendly and doesn't make a skimpy sandwich like other Subways in the area.

It came as a great recommendation! We didn't have it for a while since we live the low-carb life but were thrilled to learn they do a "sub in a tub". I love their tuna salad/sub. Their bread is soft, back when I could eat it. They don't overfill it with mayo either and add some mild peppers or hot on request. I like that they don't have onions at the deli so it doesn't overpower everything else. My husband typically loves the club. They rolled a generous amount into a container and I used scissors to quickly and easily cut it. It was a perfect lunch and I have enough for another tomorrow! For $8, or $11 for a generous tuna scoop, you can't beat it. Staff is also quick and friendly at the deli, as well as checkout. You can find all kinds of things for the house or to gift someone whether it's food, a cookie jar, something imported from Italy, or a homemade meal. You'll find something for everyone.

The selection of shelved goods, many many many imported, is delightful and I really love shopping there. That said, there are so many options, particularly for this vegetarian and egg hater. Pro tip: Make a reservation! The place had a solid wait from the time we arrived until we left. Service was ok, spotty at bits, but I also attribute it to the place being busy. We had to ask a second time for some missing items. To eat, I got the berry crepes and a side of hash browns with cheese. My friend got the eggs Benedict with a side of pancakes. The crepes were very good, but I preferred the bites without the berry mascarpone filling. The side of pancakes my friend got was huge, this would be plenty as a main. They are very good at accommodating larger parties, but do wait to seat you until your party is all there.

I haven't been to the location but have had these bagels consistently for over 10 years. The texture and flavor of the bagel is everything a NY bagel is and should be. Fluffy on the inside, somewhat crispy on the outside, and oh so thiccccccccck! Their cream cheese?! Ugh! Don't skip on it, seriously everything about this place is perfect. My go to selection is the egg bagel with chive cream cheese. It's chef's kiss and hits the spot. EVERY.SINGLE.TIME!!!!

If you're expecting this to be interchangeable with the franchised bagel places that have spread…read moreacross the country, recalibrate now. This is not that. I've been going to New York Bagel & Bialy for over 50 years, and places like this operate on a different clock, a different standard, and frankly, a different philosophy of what a bagel is supposed to be. Timing matters. If you show up after about 8:00 AM, your odds of getting bagels at their absolute peak--still warm, properly textured, with that slight resistance on the outside and softness inside--go up significantly. Earlier can be hit or miss depending on the batch cycle, but once they're in stride, this place delivers. The essentials are all here and worth your time: poppy seed, sesame, everything, and especially the bialys. The bialys alone are reason enough to make the trip--properly done, with the right chew and depth of flavor that you simply won't find in mass-produced versions. Don't overcomplicate it. Grab a dozen. On your way home, stop and pick up a couple packages of Philadelphia Cream Cheese and some smoked salmon a jar of capers, a Bermuda onion--whether here or even from Walmart--and you've got a meal that outperforms most brunch menus at a fraction of the cost. This isn't trendy. It's not trying to be. It's something better: consistent, old-world, and still doing it the right way. If you're going to call something a bagel, the standard is not branding--it's process. That's why New York Bagel & Bialy on Touhy stands apart. They actually do it right: kettle-boiled first, then baked in rotating ovens. That single decision--boiling--changes the entire structure. It gelatinizes the outer starch layer, locks in density, and produces that thin, glossy crust with real chew. Without it, you don't have a bagel--you have bread with a hole. The rotating ovens matter too. They deliver even heat, which means you get the correct balance: a slight exterior crisp with a dense, elastic interior. No puffiness. No sponge. No collapse under toppings. That's the difference here. Most chains optimize for speed and shelf life, so they steam or shortcut the process. Many local shops land in the middle. This place doesn't compromise. If you care about what a bagel is supposed to be--not just what it's called--this is the benchmark in Chicago.
