Ryan helped me when I came in, got me set up with the Wi-Fi password, and made it easy for me to sit and have a meeting there. I ordered a drink (a smoothie), and at one point I actually forgot it, but Ryan had it remade for me without any hesitation. The seating was comfortable, the environment was calm enough to get work done, and the drink was good. Overall, it was exactly what I needed for a quick stop: a place to sit, connect, and recharge a bit. Thumbs up all the way around. I'm giving this location 4 stars. read more

Gloried hospital food eatery? I remember when Panera opened its doors at the cherry hill location. I use to love this place. Today I ordered a BBQ chicken sandwich, along with a French Onion soup. The sandwich was decent, I should of told them to hold the red onions. The outside part of the sandwich was crisp but the insides were very soft. The light BBQ sauce is a great touch to the sandwich. The French onion, in my French oniony opinion, was a little too oniony, and packed with crotons. But I served its purpose to keep me warm during these rigid temps. I ordered the turkey sandwich which came with cheese turkey tomatoes greens and garlic aloa I was very impressed with this sandwich it was truly amazing everything thing blended together it was like a party in my mouth. I also order the brownie and salted carmel cookie I brought the brownie just to see how it taste ended up eating the whole thing couldn't help myself. My first time ever trying Panera. What a positive experience. From ordering online to picking up. Long line at drive thru and employee literally started walking orders out to waiting cars so their food would not get cold waiting on the window. Thought that was real initiative on their part. Then, had another surprise when unpacking my order. Wow, didn't know the sandwiches were so large. It was delicious and I'm definitely hooked now on the tomato soup. Yummy!! Ok, I know this violates the Number One Dave Rule about eating out. That rule being ... do not eat at chain restaurants where you have to stand to order your food, stand around waiting for your food, walk up to a counter to pick up your food, and then dispose of your food while cleaning your table before you leave. And, I should note ... I have a Panera Bread Company card and they have my e-mail, which is partially what led me to discover Deptford's version of Pay us so you can serve yourself. But, I have been surprised. Perhaps it is the face that I was immediately handed my food at my ordering location. Or it might have been the e-mail that informed me that I can get a free bagel every single day for the entire month of January. Woo Hoo free food ... ok, the other factor in this decision was that my morning's destination is located about 1/2 mile from here so convenience and free food won! Before you start to question my ethics or frugality (Yes, some of you may be thinking Dave is a cheap skate who gives a decent rating when he gets free food.) I ordered the bacon and spinach soufflé with coffee. My free Asiago Cheese Bagel was bagged for tomorrow's breakfast at home. So, here's what upped this beyond the cursory chain fast food max of three stars: friendly service, decent presentation (Yes, I know it's factory food but still it looked nice.), no requirement to return to the counter for my food, and a really nice dining/work area. Two young ladies greeted me as if I mattered (No, they weren't flirting because I observed them greet other customers the same way.)! They had honest smiles and laughed with ease. They processed my order quickly and efficiently. Someone has trained them well or perhaps this outlet was fortunate to have found these two gems to be the face of their outlet. The soufflé tasted much better than I had anticipated it would. You know ... food off the truck into the freezer into the micro and onto the platter but I tasted bacon, spinach, and warm soft egg. Very nice and it looked good too. The management has clearly paid attention to the dining area. Bright bold colors highlight a totally clean dining area with a nice blend of music in the background loud enough to enjoy but soft enough to share conversations or to work. Now, I am not sure about this WIFI notice that I might be restricted to 30 minutes ... if I was hit with that the rating would immediately crash to a 1 star even with the smiling duo, food presentation, and nice dining area. Come on folks ... that is insulting if you want to have customers like me. So, I am enjoying hot coffee with a boldness ... doing some work ... enjoyed my food ... and yes, I still have to clean up my table but I am not all that messy. The Deptford location could be four stars if they could keep control of the cleanliness. I don't know if it's not enough employees, but they're not quick enough to clean the tables at busy times. The floor area could be a bit better too. It's just not a neat and clean space. It is not well maintained and looks older than it is. I would not call Panera fast-food and I wouldn't call them the best bargain I ever had, but the food is good, reliably good. The staff always seem pleasant enough, not overly so, but not rude. Food is done quickly. I had the Pick Two Combo: Turkey Avocado BLT and a cup of Creamy Tomato soup. The croutons in the soup are exquisite. It was a bit skimpy on the bacon, but the lettuce was fresh, snappy and kind of made up for the sparse bacon. Turkey was good. Avocado was good. Bread was great. My partner had the Mac N Cheese Bread Bowl--this is really, really good. If it wouldn't take me 10 hours at the gym to work of the calories, I'd get that. Oh to have a fast metabolism again. The check came in under $20 (we only ordered one drink since I didn't need one). We were in and out in under an hour, and our food was good. If they could clean up the restaurant consistently and handle the maintenance issues, this would garner another star. read more

Clean, good food, etc. - yes, wonderful and their food IS good but I think priced too high. My girl loves their chicken noodle soup and my son gets the (kids) turkey and cheese sandwich. I loved the chicken Caesar salad I had on my last trip and that's where the $ value was in my opinion. And the BREAD - yuuuum-o !!! Vince and I split a large (really?!!) sandwich. A chicken salad one, that was very tasty but I was still hungry afterward. Their macaroni and cheese is good - made w/ the shell pasta and cheese that's not too thick or cheddary. So I'm gonna paint a scenario for you , it's raining on a Friday night , Good Friday to be exact I'm feeling very ill so I make a quick run for some soup . They have a great French onion , which is what I ordered to go, the bistro French onion bowl, to be exact. I place the order then slide to the left while I wait for it to be given to me . As I'm waiting I noticed about four or five employees just standing around the prep area having conversation . Now maybe it's knit picking but one of my pet peeves is to have open food around and folks just standing around talking . But I only kept that as a mental note . They called my number , I grabbed my food and hurried home . Now although I live about ten minutes away being as though this location is by a walmart and a mall it took way longer bc of Easter holiday traffic. So I finally made it in the house made me some tea got out of my wet clothes and turn on Walking Dead to get caught up on some missed episodes;pause it , go to the kitchen to prepare my French onion bowl and Well Well Well , what do we have . One bread bowl and a container of broccoli- something. Blew my whole night of rest . I trusted you ! And I was let down . Of course like any would to avoid the hassle i tried the soup to see if it would at least satisfy my taste buds enough to get me through the night but being as though I'm sick i just couldn't get with the flavor . So I had no choice but to grab my coat , put it on over my night clothes and run back out in the rain for an exchange. Talk about inconvenience. When I got there I kindly let the cashier know that I received the wrong order and it was quickly corrected with the French onion. I wasn't offered anything for my troubles, but she did let me keep the soup I didn't much care for as she said they couldn't do anything with it anyway , as I would hope not . I just hope that in the near future they regulate who's in the prep area a bit more because clearly too many is a distraction. Not to mention it just looks unprofessional. I can say that the very next day being as though I was still sick my bf brought me a family size chicken noodle soup from them and it was delicious and this is from someone who has never been a chicken noodle fan. Carpets stained, bathroom unkept at 9:30 am on this Monday morning - Columbus Day, soap dispenser broken and laying dead on the vanity, urinal very dirty with flies. Got a bagel and cappuccino. I need to confess: I'm addicted to Panera Bread. This place is usually filled, but quick service. I can't get enough of the chicken cobb w/ avocado salad and the broccoli cheddar soup. Panera is always a great choice for lunch. With all the sauces and cheese, it may not be all that much healthier for you, but I always feel better about myself after Panera than I do after fast food. I always like to get the Pick2, which lets you choose 2 menu items - soup, salad, sandwich. It is a great way to get a little variety in my lunch. Today I chose the avocado cobb - the dressing that comes with it is not that great, but I have not found a substitute that I like - and the chipotle chicken panini - which is delicious but a little spicy. My son chose an Italian combo which is as good an Italian hoagie as you can get at most hoagie shops. The dining room was very crowded today, but they had plenty of staff on clearing tables, expediting the pick-up area, helping folks at the trash cans, etc. I think this dining room is a little smaller than most Paneras so it fills up quickly. This is not an indictment of Panera, but this shopping center is a mess. The ingress/egress is tight, there is too little parking between shops - particularly around Panera - and the light at the entrance is really short. If you are already at the Deptford Mall, this is a good option. If you are coming here just for Panera, it might be a better choice to choose a different location. read more

LOBSTER ROLL IS NOT GOOD! If you are used to any sort of good seafood I would not recommend you get the lobster roll from panera. Definitely not my favorite Panera Bread. I will just never understand why they don't give you a locator disk so we can sit down at the table and a server brings the food to you when it's ready like other Panera Breads. Especially if I'm with little kids, it's hard holding my things and the tray(s) of food. Other locations also have the ordering kiosk to speed up long lines during the lunch rush, but again, not at this place. My biggest complaint with all Panera Breads... No actual kid meals. The drink and chips/bread should have a discount price with the food. This is the newest Panera in the area, the previous ones being only Voorhees and Marlton. It is attached to Chipotle and located in a plaza with a lot of other newer stores: Walmart, Sam's Club, Hh Gregg, Five Guys, DSW, Michael's, Game Stop, Great Clips, Berry Frozen Yogurt, Joe's Crab Shack, a dentist?, and I think that's everything. The parking lot is pretty annoying. With all these business, there isn't really anywhere to park on weekends. Some rows are one way only too, ugh. The location is pretty clean. The bathroom (at least the ladies' room) is small and kind of awkward because of that. Hard to maneuver. They use numbers instead of names for your orders. Same foods and drinks as a normal Panera. Staff has always been super friendly when I've been there. The seating is the same as the parking lot - very limited during busy meal times and weekends. My standard is a Mediterranean veggie sandwich and iced green tea - came out perfect upon a recent visit. Overall - clean establishment, friendly staff, good food as expected from Panera. read more
