This particular Panera Bread is a standalone building on the edge of a shopping plaza where the Whole Foods Market or the Kohl's would be the anchor store. The service at this location is friendly and professional and like all the Panera Bread locations that I have been in, it is a warm and inviting interior. On this particular visit, it was for a business meeting. I have often used Panera Bread in my travels to meet a client who does not have an office in that area and I have never been disappointed. This location was no different. My experience here was an overall pleasant experience and I would definitely recommend this particular Panera Bread location. read more

This Panera needs to train their employees on the meaning of the verb "toast" as it relates to bagels. By this I refer to the Maillard reaction, a chemical process that occurs when amino acids (from proteins in the flour) and sugars (like glucose or fructose) in the bagel interact under heat, typically above 140°C (284°F). This causes the surface of a sliced bagel to take on a golden-brown hue, producing a delicious result that pleases customers. It does, however, require time and electrical current to accomplish. The people at this Panera don't consider the satisfaction of their clientele, and therefore simply put the bagel through a quicker process that slightly warms and dries out the bagel with no Maillard reaction, leaving the bagel's surface completely white. My girlfriend and I just visited this Panera location to pickup a doordash. We went over 10 minutes without being acknowledged by the gentleman working the front registers. There were no customers in front of us at the counter when we arrived, and the cashier proceeded to help another individual, that also had to flag him down to make him acknowledge her, while still refusing to speak or look in our direction. It took myself having to directly and loudly say, "Sir!" to get him to stop to speak to us after he had walked past us ignoring our existence yet again. All the while, the doordash we were waiting for was sitting in direct sight, and fully prepared, behind the counter for the entire 10-15 minutes we were waiting to be helped. read more

Everyone in the back must've been taking a break even though it was only 7:30 am. My wife and I stopped by Panera Bread today for a quick lunch as we were visiting family just a couple of blocks away. We had a nice experience ordering, got our food in reasonable time, all seemed good. I ordered a Steak and Extra Sharp White Cheddar 1/2 sandwich and she ordered Squash Soup. Her soup was good, my sandwich was ridiculous! There could have been no more than 1 ounce of Steak on my sandwich. As I set there in the booth, we were discussing how ragged out this Panera Restaurant actually is. The awnings are horribly bleached out, exterior paint is fading (this is just the outside). I happened to look up above the drink station and noticed there is "dirt", yes black dirt on the wall. The wallpaper is peeling on the back entrance out, paint is cracked on the wall in our booth, and upholstery is cracked and peeling. This location needs a "refresh" in the worst way, along with a lesson in QC to make a sandwich. Will not be returning to this Panera until some changes are made. read more

I've never been disappointed in this Panera Bread store. Everything is usually fresh and hot but this is the second time I've purchased the 4 cinnamon roll pack. Both times they were very stale. I thought the first time was just a coincidence. It appears it's not. I will never purchase this product again. I fell in love with Panera's cinnamon roll during a visit in Asheville, NC. I have a love/hate relationship with Panera Bread. On the one hand, it does have delicious food, pastries and drinks. The environment is bright and cozy. I work from home 2-3x/wk so I'm always looking for coffee shops with wifi and comfortable seating, and Panera is a great option. It can get busy at certain times of the day and parents bring their children, of course, but there is usually a pocket or two of semi-private space for me to work. On the other hand, their portion/price ratio is atrocious to me. Full disclosure: I love gas station coffee. It's plentiful and cheap. I also love a posh coffee experience, though, especially on a sunny day like today. I could stay in a shop for hours working, reading, listening to music, etc. However, Panera doesn't offer enough of a posh experience to justify the posh prices for how much product I receive, in my opinion, so I seldomly go there. When I do go, it's for the work space, not the food. I got a delicious caramel latte (no whip) today. Smooth, not too sweet, distinct coffee flavor with the right amount of caramel flavor (not overpowering). I give 4 stars because they do make a good product; I can't take that away from them! read more

3 stars is being generous. Order on the app for "rapid pickup" said would be ready is approximately 25 mins....fine, no problem with that. I show up at 25 minutes, not ready, no biggie. Took several more minutes, even after I received staring it was ready. Not upset about really any of this. The feedback I would like to provide is.... Nothing should be taking more than a few minutes.... There are so many employees in there just roaming and standing around aimlessly..... no direction, no purpose or motivation. I understand there seems to be "pre-covid" and "post covid" standards or expectations... but come on people. Have some pride in what you're doing..... or at lease behave as if you deserve the wage you're being paid. read more

WARNING: If you place a rapid order online because they do not allow you to call and speak to someone and realize the pickup time is 9 minutes before your lunch is over because you wasted more then half of it downloading their app and setting up an account. If you try and cancel your order it is impossible to figure out how or again call to talk to someone you will get charged even if you do not pick it up. TIP: When you call and ask to speak to a manger, it will just send you to the main menu again. In order to save yourself from totally getting frustrated by this repeatedly happening. Just hit the option for help with an existing catering because that is the only way to actually speak to someone. The employee who answers the phone will probably tell you he will get the manager from her office. BS: When you ask the manager why you had to pick the catering option in order to speak with her when she is sitting in the office. The only answer you will receive is an ummmmm.....i don't know and when you ask her again she will just say they are hardly ever in their office and when you mention that this time she was and still didn't answer the phone you will just get her changing the subject. *side note the poor guy on the phone will most likely receive a talking to by the manager to never tell anyone where he is going to go get the manager from again. I started a review on Google but didn't get to finish it so I'm sharing my awful experience today. This is ridiculous! I used the ap to order my lunch and it said it would be ready at 12:39. What a joke! At 1:11pm I still have 5 orders ahead of me! The cashier can't refund my money today which is ridiculous! There are people waiting who are so late to get back to work they said they will get written up. Change your ap and/or change your employees! Now I think I see my frozen drink sitting on a counter with no food. Do you think it will still be frozen? HA well, of course it was not frozen! I brought it back in from the car to have it replaced. Did I get a frozen coffee back? Well it was frozen on the top inch maybe. That's $5.19 I'll never get back! I'm so disappointed with this location within the last month. I have a coffee subscription, and when I started the subscription, I was looking forward to going on a near daily basis as part of my work-day routine. The problem is that they have been closed lately more often than they are open! What is going on??? I try to order through the app and through their website, but both consistently tell me that the earliest pick up time is the NEXT DAY. Then, the next day, when I try again, it says the same thing. In the last two weeks, I've been able to place just ONE iced coffee order, and even when I showed up at the time it was supposed to be ready, I still had to wait in the line, because it wasn't out yet. The cashier said, "Oh, our iced coffees are now self-serve. Here you go." And she handed me a cup. If that's the case, why does the app have you go through the trouble of "customizing" it??? Who gives Panera five stars? The person who is desperately searching for a healthy lunch option before heading to the airport nearby. Despite a big lunch rush when I arrived at 12:45, each employee I spoke with was very friendly and accommodating. The woman ringing up my order smiled through all my specifications (dressing for my salad on the side, multigrain rather than the normal bread, etc) and when my sandwich came out looking so toasted, the woman who brought it to my table whisked it away to toast it again. Gunbarrel location going down hill fast. This is so disappointing as it's always been one of my fav places to eat. I've had very disappointing experiences lately but thought I would give them one more try before writing them off... another disappointing experience today sealed it for me. The dining rooms are neglected & nasty, tables not cleaned. I tried to place an order online but couldn't find paninni's online so I tried to call. They don't take orders by phone. So I went there parked and went inside to order. I asked for paninni and was advised they don't sell them anymore. :( I asked if they have any kind of a toasted Turkey sandwich and was advised they don't. Mind you they toast other sandwiches but foe some reason couldn't toast a Turkey sandwich for me. So I switched and ordered a large soup to go (in tall cardboard container) and was told the only way they could prepare a large soup was put it in a bread bowl. You can imagine this wouldn't travel well so I got frustrated and left. It appears they don't want to accommodate customers any longer. Very sad. read more

So says my mother, around 5pm on a Friday after we've been *erranding* around Hamilton Place (ok, treks through Best Buy, DSW, TJ Maxx, Marshall's, Target and...will do that to a girl)....and voila, we found a Panera. Pretty much every chain (for good or ill) exists near this mall, and this Panera is hopping as heck. Nice staff, really bustling at this time of day (not sure why I was surprised but my radar for busy-ness is off between my usual downtown Market St location and my usual haunts at home in Atlanta), and caffeine/sugar fixes were expediently obtained. I don't spend more time than I need to out this way, but it's good to know that a bastion of light is available in the area, when the need arises. read more

95% of the rapid pick up orders I've sent to this Panera are consistently incorrect, whether it be a wrong item or missing items. No one vets or verifies the orders before they go out on the pick up shelf, even though they are required to. I try to check them myself now, but most of the time I don't have the time nor physical space it would require to empty out the tightly packed paper bags and then unwrap every individual item to reference it to my receipt. I don't think it's asking too much that I receive every item I ordered and paid for. Also, don't order a salad to go - the lettuce they put in to go orders is yellow, has brown spots, and tastes like it was lightly tossed in balsamic vomit. read more

I came here to study for a bit with a group of classmates and ended up staying all day. When I pulled into the parking lot it looked packed and I was worried I wouldn't be able to find a table to sit at. Fortunately when I walked inside there were plenty of seating options available despite the amount of people. I love that there are many plugs scattered about for my poor phone and computer - both of which are challenged when it comes to keeping a charge for more than 2 hours it seems. I ordered the Mediterranean veggie sandwich and it came with chips. I'm not a big fan of chips but they were kettle cooked so they were pretty good and I ate them anyway. It actually took 20 minutes before I realized my buzzer was probably broken and my food was ready. I walked up and explained that my buzzer didn't go off and they were very sweet and apologetic so I got my food without any trouble and scarfed it down. It was so good. A few hours later I'm just studying in a corner when I see a worker walking around with a platter offering everyone chocolate chip cookie samples. :) that was a really sweet, pleasant surprise. Made my day and experience at Panera that much brighter. I definitely plan on coming back here to study. I just love all the options ~ from coffee to smoothies, pastries to pastas, soups, salads, and breads - there is something for everyone here at Panera. read more

What institution in the South does not offer Sweet Tea as a drink option? As the store manager told me today, "Apparently Panera." You've got to be kidding me? Oh, they have quite a selection of exotic tea drinks, or you may purchase unsweetened tea and then pump a sugar-based simple syrup into it to sweeten, per individual taste. Really? When I approached the store manager, she seemed absolutely uninterested in my comments. She stated that everyone who had come into the restaurant had complained about it. I suppose that after you hear the same opinion over and over that you become immune and hardened to further comments. I will not be eating at this restaurant until Sweet Tea, and I mean REAL Sweet Tea, is put back on the menu as a drink option. I encourage others who drink Sweet Tea to follow suit.
