Steak & Wake breakfast sandwich
Frida G.

Let's start with the pros: - Online ordering was a breeze - I got to the Rapid Pickup station a few minutes ago before the app said it would be ready and so of course it wasn't there yet. Within seconds, a gentleman asked if I was waiting for an online order and he already had my order in his hand! Last 2 times I waited forever. This is a huge improvement! - the Steak & Wake sandwich tasted great - My dog was very pleased with the plain bagel and ate that quicker than she would eat a bagel from chick fil a Cons: - The Steak & Wake sandwich was super thin and way skimpier than advertised. I remember back in the day when their sandwiches were of decent proportions. I know everyone is cutting costs these days, but they've cut the filling out of this sandwich by about 75%. - The cheese was minimal and practically invisible.

Green Goddess Salad and Bread (Grubhub) delivered on a rainy day in Charleston, SC.
Diane C.

Thursday April 11th, Charleston, SC experienced torrential rains. We were staying in an Airbnb. We didn't have time to food shop, so no food in the fridge. Luckily, Grubhub was delivering : D We ordered: Green Goddess Chicken Cobb Salads, Caesar Salad With Chicken, Strawberry Poppyseed Chicken Salad, Toasted Frontega Chicken Sandwich, Cream Of Chicken & Wild Rice Soups, Fruit Cups and Baguettes. Despite the horrendous weather, the food was delivered in a very timely manner. The young man who delivered the food was very sweet. The entire food order was correct. All the food was very good. Thank you Panera for saving the day.

Flatbread pepperoni pizza

Average Panera location at best. The employees were pleasant and asked if we needed any help. Restaurant appeared to be clean and they have plenty of tables. Parking is available on two sides of the building (they're on the corner of a small strip of businesses). Their prices have gone up, to the point that I don't see Panera as a good option any longer. Most of the Pick 2 options will now cost around $20 per person. Our food was ready for pick-up in about five minutes. But appears they messed up our order. Instead of a full size Baja bowl and half salad and half flatbread pizza, we got a half Baja and full flatbread. The Baja was good, just not much to it, especially for $11. The half salad wasn't very good; lots of the white center part of the lettuce head - blah. The flatbread was average; greasy pepperoni and cheese.

Came here for lunch and we were excited to see the new changes Panera has made to their menu. Unfortunately, we were not completely satisfied. Our came quickly and the cashier ringing us up was very nice. Our food was ok. Nothing special. I had a steak sandwich which was very alright, my kids loved their Mac n cheese. But their grilled cheese was cold and the cheese wasn't even melted which I don't really understand. And my husband had the BLT which was pretty gross actually. It's served cold which he didn't realize when he ordered it but the bacon was literally just bacon that had come out of a fridge. It wasn't crispy and it had congealed grease on it because it had been in the refrigerator. That was a bummer because he was excited for that sandwich. I will say the baguette was delicious. I would order just their bread, it was so good.

Hair in my soup

THE WORST Panera I have ever been to it was appalling. They were out of everything, had no CO2 in the soda machine, the worker at the front was coughing and wearing a mask UNDER HIS NOSE, and there was a HAIR in my soup. To make it worse, when we got our order, we asked for bread not chips and they were out of bread. Want my money back... this place is too expensive to be that inadequate. I will never be coming back.

Southern hospitality is alive here. The girl that waited on us was super friendly and courteous. That bumped the score up a full point. The coffee was good but the food was pretty mediocre. Not much else to say. Customer service got a 5, food got a 2-3. ENJOY???

Oh the glory of morning bread and pastries!

It's been 11 years since I posted my last review for this place. I was concerned when I made the…read morereservation that maybe it had lost its luster since I was last here. Happily, I was wrong! Everything went extremely well from the check-in experience, to the food, and the service. Our reservation was for 6:30pm but we got there a full hour early. They gave us a table immediately, no problem. Our server was Maisie and she was wonderful. Patient. Attentive. Super friendly. We ordered drinks and the Pimento Cheese Fritters. They were incredible! We also tried the She Crab Bisque and it was over the top! Delicious and full of lump crab meat. When Maisie brought us our first plates, she asked us if we were considering the pork chop, which is exactly what we were interested in. She said there were only two left and held one for us. This is the kind of excellent service she provided throughout the meal. The pork chop was cooked to perfection, tender and juicy with a wonderful wood smoked flavor. The whipped potatoes and roasted heirloom baby carrots were the perfect accompaniment. Nothing has changed inside or out since my last visit. The vibe is Charleston laid back and comfortable. I'm so glad I came back.

It was Labor Day and things seemed on the quiet side in town. The ambience was great and we were on the second floor. We got right to the libations (he had a Malbec and I, the cider they had available). And then the entrees - hubby got the shrimp and grits, that's usually my dish but I was glad he got it so I could taste. I got the fried chicken, with hoppin John over white rice, and collards. So good! And I wasn't even hungry but I had to test the "award winning" and "famous" labels on our dishes. The chicken is a huge serving - 4 pieces of juicy, tasty chicken - an entire quarter. The hoppin John was good - I just wish there were more hoppin John and less rice. Service was 5 star. Donte was a real treat and looked after us well. For dessert, I was hoping for bread pudding, but it wasn't on the menu, and everyone in the dining room was ordering the banana pudding so we got that to share. It is a large serving, enough for two. The presentation was cute, the taste was regular, and I didn't taste a hint of alcohol (it was a bourbon or some other alcohol).

I ordered the 1/2 honey fried chicken w/ mac & cheese and collard greens. For dessert, we shared pecan pie. The chicken was moist & delicious from being brined and seasoning in the batter. The batter was crunchy, and perfectly applied so you didn't bite into a hunk of just batter. Likewise, the sides were some of the best I had during my trip to SC. Lastly, the pecan pie was really good also. However, I was expecting a bigger & taller slice. Regarding the ambiance, its smart casual here. The decor is fancier vs the down home cooking. Danielle took very good care of us. She was friendly & attentive. Florence's did the trick for us. We had eaten a lot of raw seafood and BBQ. This Lowcountry cuisine gave us a nice change of pace during our trip.

My friend said the tomato pie was really good but it's all cheese and tomatoes. The fried green tomatoes were crispy but needed seasoning. They were incredibly bland. For the main dish she ordered the smash burger and I ordered the fish and grits. She took one bite of the smash burger and sent it back saying it tasted like a frozen burger you'd get at Walmart. The fish and grits were ok. They too were bland and needed salt. A LOT of salt or any other seasoning. The okra, Lima beans and corn that come in this dish also tasted like it came out of a frozen bag. There is no seasoning in this dish whatsoever. Unfortunately this place was a miss and we won't be returning. Also the bathrooms look like a porta potty. You know the cheap plastic that porta potties are made out of? Yeah that's what the stalls are made out of. It looks so cheap and a big contrast from the rest of the restaurant. The staff was nice but they also look like they hate working here.

For me, the prime rib was seasoned perfectly, and the horseradish was perfectly done, not overpowering but complementary to the flavor. Everything was seasoned and cooked to perfection! We finished off with the peach cobbler for dessert, and you've never had a peach cobbler like this; so good! Service was top notch, everything was timed perfectly and the recommendations were on point. The ambiance was really great; classy but relaxed. We love trying new places, but with a 3y and 6mo old, we are always a bit nervous how they will be received. The staff here were so kind. From the moment we walked through the door, we felt we belonged. One special mention, Melanie took time to stop by our table and engage us and our daughter in conversation (she's normally really shy). It was clear Melanie is sincere and really cares for people. Within a minute, our daughter was sharing all the things we've done and seen and was chatting away. This transformed the lunch into a true experience! I happened upon it on my Resy app while looking for somewhere to celebrate, and I'm so glad I did! The restaurant is located in a small strip shopping center, but once you step inside, you would never know it. It has a great atmosphere, beautiful décor, and a really nice vibe. We started with the crispy calamari, which came with a delicious chili-lime sauce. My husband isn't a big fan of a lot of sauce, so we ordered it on the side. That worked out perfectly because I could enjoy plenty of the sauce while he enjoyed his calamari without it being covered. I had the Angels Oak Cab/Malbec blend, which was a smooth, rich wine. For my entrée, I chose the prime rib melt. The meat was tender and flavorful, and I opted to pay the upcharge for the mac and cheese as my side. It was good, although it was a little different from the traditional Southern-style mac and cheese you typically find around here. My husband had the fish and chips, and surprisingly, they were delicious! The fish was cooked perfectly and tasted incredibly fresh. For dessert, we shared the key lime pie, and it was delicious! It had just the right amount of tartness, which I absolutely love. ‍ We are so excited to have discovered this little gem and definitely plan to visit again. Sometimes you just have to let Resy lead the way! Thanks, Resy, for helping us find our new favorite spot!
