Green Goddess Salad and Bread (Grubhub) delivered on a rainy day in Charleston, SC.
    Diane C.

Thursday April 11th, Charleston, SC experienced torrential rains. We were staying in an Airbnb. We didn't have time to food shop, so no food in the fridge. Luckily, Grubhub was delivering : D We ordered: Green Goddess Chicken Cobb Salads, Caesar Salad With Chicken, Strawberry Poppyseed Chicken Salad, Toasted Frontega Chicken Sandwich, Cream Of Chicken & Wild Rice Soups, Fruit Cups and Baguettes. Despite the horrendous weather, the food was delivered in a very timely manner. The young man who delivered the food was very sweet. The entire food order was correct. All the food was very good. Thank you Panera for saving the day.

Average Panera location at best. The employees were pleasant and asked if we needed any help. Restaurant appeared to be clean and they have plenty of tables. Parking is available on two sides of the building (they're on the corner of a small strip of businesses). Their prices have gone up, to the point that I don't see Panera as a good option any longer. Most of the Pick 2 options will now cost around $20 per person. Our food was ready for pick-up in about five minutes. But appears they messed up our order. Instead of a full size Baja bowl and half salad and half flatbread pizza, we got a half Baja and full flatbread. The Baja was good, just not much to it, especially for $11. The half salad wasn't very good; lots of the white center part of the lettuce head - blah. The flatbread was average; greasy pepperoni and cheese.

    Hair in my soup

THE WORST Panera I have ever been to it was appalling. They were out of everything, had no CO2 in the soda machine, the worker at the front was coughing and wearing a mask UNDER HIS NOSE, and there was a HAIR in my soup. To make it worse, when we got our order, we asked for bread not chips and they were out of bread. Want my money back... this place is too expensive to be that inadequate. I will never be coming back.

Came here for lunch and we were excited to see the new changes Panera has made to their menu. Unfortunately, we were not completely satisfied. Our came quickly and the cashier ringing us up was very nice. Our food was ok. Nothing special. I had a steak sandwich which was very alright, my kids loved their Mac n cheese. But their grilled cheese was cold and the cheese wasn't even melted which I don't really understand. And my husband had the BLT which was pretty gross actually. It's served cold which he didn't realize when he ordered it but the bacon was literally just bacon that had come out of a fridge. It wasn't crispy and it had congealed grease on it because it had been in the refrigerator. That was a bummer because he was excited for that sandwich. I will say the baguette was delicious. I would order just their bread, it was so good.

Southern hospitality is alive here. The girl that waited on us was super friendly and courteous. That bumped the score up a full point. The coffee was good but the food was pretty mediocre. Not much else to say. Customer service got a 5, food got a 2-3. ENJOY???

Oh the glory of morning bread and pastries!

Meh, the bagels are pretty good but most of the food tastes microwaved. My pasta tasted like it came out of a Lean Cuisine box.

I ordered the 1/2 honey fried chicken w/ mac & cheese and collard greens. For dessert, we shared pecan pie. The chicken was moist & delicious from being brined and seasoning in the batter. The batter was crunchy, and perfectly applied so you didn't bite into a hunk of just batter. Likewise, the sides were some of the best I had during my trip to SC. Lastly, the pecan pie was really good also. However, I was expecting a bigger & taller slice. Regarding the ambiance, its smart casual here. The decor is fancier vs the down home cooking. Danielle took very good care of us. She was friendly & attentive. Florence's did the trick for us. We had eaten a lot of raw seafood and BBQ. This Lowcountry cuisine gave us a nice change of pace during our trip.

My friend said the tomato pie was really good but it's all cheese and tomatoes. The fried green tomatoes were crispy but needed seasoning. They were incredibly bland. For the main dish she ordered the smash burger and I ordered the fish and grits. She took one bite of the smash burger and sent it back saying it tasted like a frozen burger you'd get at Walmart. The fish and grits were ok. They too were bland and needed salt. A LOT of salt or any other seasoning. The okra, Lima beans and corn that come in this dish also tasted like it came out of a frozen bag. There is no seasoning in this dish whatsoever. Unfortunately this place was a miss and we won't be returning. Also the bathrooms look like a porta potty. You know the cheap plastic that porta potties are made out of? Yeah that's what the stalls are made out of. It looks so cheap and a big contrast from the rest of the restaurant. The staff was nice but they also look like they hate working here.

Although some dishes are seasonal, these happen to be entrees that are served year-round according to our server Both were quite delicious. The vegetarian plate had a wide variety of veggies -- from mashed potatoes, to wilted spinach, asparagus, green beans, and fried tomato's. There were only two medium pieces of fried tomato so I do wish they put more in the plate but oh well. My partner loved his bouillabaisse and apparently it's the southern rendition of a French dish that is one of their most popular dishes. It has lots of seafood in it. The meal also came with complimentary warm bread, which was nice. The pecan pie was very good, but the crust was kind of hard and there were fewer pecans than I'm used to and more caramel. The ambiance is more formal but people were dressed mostly casual (and chic if I might add). Dim lighting and if you don't want as much noise to carry I would ask for seating in the back because it's noticeably louder in the front. Overall the food is very good and prices are not as expensive for the quality. Our server was great!

I have been living in Charleston since 2010 and have been looking for a French restaurant for years. One day while walking around the French Quarter I noticed a quaint lil French bistro and put it on my "gotta try" list. So I came to see what all the 5 star reviews were about and boy was I disappointed from the get go. I try my best not to judge a book by its cover and lemme tell you I'm not scared of whole in the walls and the gems in different hodgepodge places, if it's got good eats, I'm there. I usually will try a restaurant 3 times before writing a review but helllllll no. The food and experience was so bad y'all! I have to tell you about my experience NOW while the bad taste is still in my mouth! I ordered the soup of the day which was she crab soup and a baguette. I thought cool French baguette is my fave and how could you go wrong with soup. No, I got 2 small slices of stale baguette top with some kind of cheese like a lunchable you can get at the grocery store and soup that was too salty to eat! So I said let me try something that you can't mess up. A croissant! A chocolate one well they messed that up too! How can you get a croissant wrong, and it was store bought croissants! Yuck! From a FRENCH restaurant, not made in house but if I'm wrong then those were the worst croissants ever!!!!!! Please people don't eat here! The serve staff did not greet us, ignored us and asked a white patron about his party of guests even though we were there 10 minutes before and the host knew he did wrong for asking to seat the other guy before acknowledging us because he caught my stare and we locked eyes and I did not back down or break the eye contact to let him know, yea fellow you totally ignored me for 10 minutes and asked the other guy how many in his party 1st! Even after the poor service I was dealt with in the beginning I still wanted to give it a chance, but after hearing how the wait staff addressed other patrons about how short staff they were and how horrible they had to do so many things I about had it. I was looking forward to a hot fresh French press coffee and was let down again. Weakest French press coffee just take my advice and walk swiftly past this whole in the wall. I can't believe this place is still open after so many years. Really Charlestonians!?! Really? I know we have more restaurants per square capita but this one has got to go. We ate some food because we were shopping and so hungry, but after that we paid and left fast

I went to look at their online menu and realized I'd be keeping it light for the sake of my daily food budget. I called in to order takeout and ordered the Blintz, as it was reasonably priced and fair for the portion size: two crepes filled with their beef filling and a side of sour cream priced at $7.99. When I walked up to pay, the lady rang me up for $10 and change. I thought it was weird that I was paying nearly two dollars in tax on an eight-dollar purchase. She printed out the receipt, and it showed the price was $8.99 for the Blintz. There happened to be a menu right next to the cash register, and I pointed out that it said $7.99, and that their website said the same thing. She said, "sorry ‍," and just waved me off as if it was completely irrelevant and not worth looking into. Obviously, a dollar is not the end of the world--it's more the principle of placing an order under the expectation that prices are as advertised, and that not being the case, plus them not caring about it. I paid the $10 and took the food. They forgot the sour cream, so I had to ask for that. The last disappointment was when I found out how much food I got for $10. I get that you pay a little extra for quality, but sheesh... these things are barely the size of my finger. The food was overall pretty tasty; if we're just measuring taste, I'd give it a 7.5/10. Overall, this was a very poor experience, and it might be hard for me to try again.
