Hard to get in handicapped entry,wish they had drive tru or could order on phone and have them bring it out to car?Food is great !

I was at Panera Bread at this location around 2:30 today, April 20th but left after what could be called the worst verbal altercation between a staffer and one whom I learned was the manager. Another staffer sought to de- escalate but without success. The manager left our view but returned calling him a pus.y! It is fortunate no children were present. It was so unfortunate and will affect my decision going forward whether to patronize Panera. read more

Let's start with the pros: - Online ordering was a breeze - I got to the Rapid Pickup station a few minutes ago before the app said it would be ready and so of course it wasn't there yet. Within seconds, a gentleman asked if I was waiting for an online order and he already had my order in his hand! Last 2 times I waited forever. This is a huge improvement! - the Steak & Wake sandwich tasted great - My dog was very pleased with the plain bagel and ate that quicker than she would eat a bagel from chick fil a Cons: - The Steak & Wake sandwich was super thin and way skimpier than advertised. I remember back in the day when their sandwiches were of decent proportions. I know everyone is cutting costs these days, but they've cut the filling out of this sandwich by about 75%. - The cheese was minimal and practically invisible. read more

I ordered the chicken and wild rice soup, needs at least pepper and more seasoning. Mainly white rice and not wild rice. Baguette is 1/4 the size of a few years ago but good. The 1/2 a sandwich is more like a 1/4 so the value and flavors are no longer there. They need to step it up! read more

Thursday April 11th, Charleston, SC experienced torrential rains. We were staying in an Airbnb. We didn't have time to food shop, so no food in the fridge. Luckily, Grubhub was delivering : D We ordered: Green Goddess Chicken Cobb Salads, Caesar Salad With Chicken, Strawberry Poppyseed Chicken Salad, Toasted Frontega Chicken Sandwich, Cream Of Chicken & Wild Rice Soups, Fruit Cups and Baguettes. Despite the horrendous weather, the food was delivered in a very timely manner. The young man who delivered the food was very sweet. The entire food order was correct. All the food was very good. How are y'all sold out of all breakfast sandwiches and other items 30 minutes after opening??

Customer service was atrocious! Talked to someone who couldn't care less to tell me about soups they had. Was getting soup for my sick wife who wanted one and was assured they had plenty. Drove 30 minutes to get 3 bowls of it and was told they didn't have it. I'll stop there. read more

Average Panera location at best. The employees were pleasant and asked if we needed any help. Restaurant appeared to be clean and they have plenty of tables. Parking is available on two sides of the building (they're on the corner of a small strip of businesses). Their prices have gone up, to the point that I don't see Panera as a good option any longer. Most of the Pick 2 options will now cost around $20 per person. Our food was ready for pick-up in about five minutes. But appears they messed up our order. Instead of a full size Baja bowl and half salad and half flatbread pizza, we got a half Baja and full flatbread. The Baja was good, just not much to it, especially for $11. The half salad wasn't very good; lots of the white center part of the lettuce head - blah. The flatbread was average; greasy pepperoni and cheese. read more

My hesitancy is that there were no gluten free options. Hadn't been here in 15 years since realizing I have celiac. Hadn't a smoothie which was fine. My daughter had a salad which she said was very good, especially the green goddess dressing. read more

THE WORST Panera I have ever been to it was appalling. They were out of everything, had no CO2 in the soda machine, the worker at the front was coughing and wearing a mask UNDER HIS NOSE, and there was a HAIR in my soup. To make it worse, when we got our order, we asked for bread not chips and they were out of bread. Want my money back... this place is too expensive to be that inadequate. Came here for lunch and we were excited to see the new changes Panera has made to their menu. Unfortunately, we were not completely satisfied. Our came quickly and the cashier ringing us up was very nice. Our food was ok. Nothing special. I had a steak sandwich which was very alright, my kids loved their Mac n cheese. But their grilled cheese was cold and the cheese wasn't even melted which I don't really understand. And my husband had the BLT which was pretty gross actually. It's served cold which he didn't realize when he ordered it but the bacon was literally just bacon that had come out of a fridge. It wasn't crispy and it had congealed grease on it because it had been in the refrigerator. That was a bummer because he was excited for that sandwich. I will say the baguette was delicious. HORRIBLE SERVICE. Walked in, young man behind the register wearing a mask over his mouth only. He just stares at us, not even a greeting or a word. We ordered food. He had questions but couldn't hear him at all. Just low volume mumbling behind a mask. I had to ask him to repeat himself 4 times. I have owned small businesses for 40 years and I am a professional business consultant. Parking - They are in a strip mall so plenty of parking with two dedicated curbside service spaces. The Scene - This dining room is consistently clean as well as the restrooms. Wi-fi is easy to access and reliable. The Service - This is reason for losing two stars. My now-fiancé moved to West Ashley in 2018 and not being a daily coffee drinker, he didn't have a Keurig. I joined the coffee club because this was close to his place and I usually passed the one in Savannah on my way to work. The service here has been the same since then so pandemic aside, its a crapshoot. I moved here in October 2021 and again, it was on the way to work so I frequented it. Despite ordering through the app and coming in after the appointed time, my food was never ready. It was to the point, I would end up late to work so I had to stop going. The Eats - Let me hit you with my favorites other than the 100% Colombian Dark Roast coffee. Breakfast: Spinach & Artichoke Soufflé - Freshly baked soufflé made with our savory egg mixture, spinach, a Romano cheese blend, red peppers and artichoke hearts with a hint of garlic. Sandwich: Roasted Turkey & Avocado BLT - Roasted turkey raised without antibiotics, Applewood-smoked bacon, emerald green, vine-ripened tomatoes, fresh avocado, mayo, salt, and pepper on Country Rustic Sourdough. Salad: Fuji Apple Salad with Chicken- Chicken raised without antibiotics, arugula, romaine, baby kale and red leaf blend, grape tomatoes, red onions, toasted pecan pieces, Gorgonzola and apple chips tossed in sweet white balsamic vinaigrette. Soup: Broccoli Cheddar Soup - Chopped broccoli, shredded carrots and select seasonings simmered in a velvety smooth cheese sauce. Ordered coffee on their app to pickup on my way to work. Normally I receive an email when it's ready, so I can walk in without waiting. No email today, ten minutes after it was supposed to be ready. I walked in and there was no coffee waiting on the usual pickup shelf. Nobody was being the counter prepping drinks. I waited around for a while, and then two employees came out from the back kitchen, both clearly in bad moods, and with one of them cussing loud enough for most people to hear. After waiting another five minutes, I left without my coffee because I was now running late for work. Now my coworkers get to suffer because I didn't get my cup of coffee today. read more

What's happening? I was always happy with food, service, etc at this place. But now...staff seems to move at 5 mph. No sense of urgency, even with the lines out the door. One person at the counter. A little confusion today about who was manning the counter which slowed my order significantly. I still go to Panera once a week, to this day. I still love Panera. The staff is always respectful and courteous and the food is always good. What is different about my visits to Panera this year? Well, instead of the salad, which they still have, I've been getting the Italian sandwich. It's on their famous bread, similar to the kind you get on the side of your food but I can tell it's not exactly the same bread. The sandwich has pepperoni and salami, maybe another meat, can't remember. Also, it has little cut up veggies of some sort as a sauce almost but the veggies are chunks. I'm not a huge veggie fan, so I don't ask what those veggies are because I like them and I don't want to be scared away from eating them again. Haha! The cashiers have always been very friendly towards me. The staff making the food is also fantastic. Jesse makes my sandwich for me every week especially for me! I like when he makes it because I know that extra ingredient is made with it, love. That makes it extra special and delicious every single time! Panera can get crowded and loud, but it's quiet and peaceful in there if you come when everyone else is not. As in, not at 12pm!! Overall, I still recommend Panera to everyone a year later. I still go to Panera once a week religiously. I love the food at Panera and I love the people at Panera. Panera has never done me wrong! I love Panera!!!! I go there once a week. I love their Fuji Apple salad with chicken. I've had a few of their sandwiches which were all good. Their pastries are all delicious. I like their pumpkin muffins the most, which they have for most of the year. But a lot of their pastries are also really good. Definitely recommend. This Panera location is awful. I ordered today for curbside pick up, and after waiting in my car for a half hour after arriving, I ended up just going inside to see if my food was ready. It was not. I waited about 15 more minutes in the store and finally got my food. I was late to get back to work at this point, so I didn't check the order until I got there. None of it was correct. I ordered tomato soup, a bacon turkey bravo on sourdough, add cucumber and basil, no signature sauce, a steak sandwich with no horseradish, no onion, and extra cheese. I also got a vanilla cold brew coffee. I received: Tomato soup, with no spoon and no croutons, a bacon turkey bravo on white bread with NO cucumber, NO basil, and LOTS of signature sauce, a leather shoe on a roll that I'm assuming was supposed to be the steak sandwich, which had a lot of horseradish and onions on it. And a cup of iced cream with sugar syrup, no coffee. The "steak" sandwich was inedible. I was picking it up for a co-worker and I was embarrassed to even give it to them. At this particular location pretty much all of the staff needs a lesson about customer service and how to correct, mistakes on orders without being so rude. I DONT WANT CHICKEN ON MY SALAD. stop putting it on my salad. It's a salad for a reason. I want vegetables. When was it written that all meals HAVE to have meat on them. First impressions.. very kind and attentive cashier! Could not have been nicer! Ordered bacon, tomato grilled cheese that came with chips. I take my order with me, sit down to eat only to notice paper from the cheese melted in with the sandwich. So very disappointing! The manager refunded me my money. I decided just to cut my losses. I never have issues with panera until I come to this location. This place never fails to let me down when it comes to the quality of their food. Their take on a margherita flat bread just isn't satisfying and I understand to only hold them to certain standards as they are a franchise who sell in bulk as a "fast food" but I've got to say..... this is terrible! The broccoli and cheddar soup is one of my favorites Everytime it's a staple for me when I go, but this location must leave it out or something because it's never as thick as it's supposed to be always overly soupy. Unfortunately I don't and will never recommend THIS specific location or panera to anyone. But try the one off international blvd. their food is of much higher quality! read more

I have only been to Panera bread twice and both times were pretty pleasant to me. This was an ideal restaurant for myself when I was fasting all the meals were thought up already for me lol. I normally don't write reviews for chain restaurants, but this is def needed. I work at the Citadel Mall area and use the Rapid Pickup on the Panera app weekly. My food is always ready on time and hot when I arrive. I didn't realize the quality of work at this Panera is much high until I went to the one in Summerville and was just disappointed with the amount of ingredients and overall packaging for the to go order. Panera is just so perfect. Early morning bagel stops. Free coffee deals. Bagel deals every Tuesday, but today, I did something different. I ordered soup and salad. I don't like squash, but the website pic was just so beautiful "autumn squash." I had to have it. It was the most glorious color and full of taste. I love my Asian sesame chicken salad, too. I'm updating my review of Panera because I've been back a few times since the coffee incident and think I just caught them on a really bad day. The last few times I've been in, the staff has been courteous and... about as knowledgeable as you'd expect Panera staff members to be. I do think they have high turnover or trouble keeping people as there are always signs up looking for employees. The best bet is to order online or through the mobile app. I've done this and it's super fast and easy. Your food is on a shelf waiting for you to pick up, so no waiting in line, and the food items all have good descriptions on the website. You can also customize your order on the site. When I've done online ordering, my bag has had napkins, spoon/fork, etc and been neatly packed. In fact, the last time I used this, I ordered and paid online, walked in and got my food, then sat down in the courtyard to eat it. No waiting with a small buzzer- and it's an efficient way to take a lunch break during the workday. Panera's not my favorite soup/sandwich/salad place in West Ashley, but I'll come here every Fall for the Autumn Squash soup. It has pumpkin and butternut squash and it's so delicious! I highly recommend it if you're not sure what to get and it's a chilly day. read more

The people were nice but the food was not. They did not have their advertised special, and had no tomato soup. They did not even have water or a working soda machine. The chicken salad sandwich was about two bites with very little chicken. The order taker offered a salad but we got a half sandwich. Even the dill pickle was miniscule. The bread was good. The Greek salad had something for a greek dressing that was very close to water - no taste and the peperocinis had seen better days - almost rotten. We will not visit there again.
