Toasted Frontega Chicken and Autumn Squash Soup
    Tamara E.

The location was bright and clean. The employee that was working the register was friendly and welcoming. For food we both ordered from the "you pick 2" menu. I got the Frontega Chicken (no onions) and the Autumn Squash Soup. My husband had the Ciabatta Cheesesteak and the Cream of Chicken & Wild Rice Soup. To drink he had a soda pop and I had the Blueberry Lavender Lemonade. Both sandwiches were good but nothing special. They were hot and all items were in proportion. The meats were lightly seasoned and the bread was toasted to Panera standards. The Frontega has been my go to for years and I have to say I miss the old recipe-i'm not a fan of the new one. The Autumn Squash Soup was DELICIOUS! I wish it came around more often. It is flavorful and the garnish brings it to the next level. The Chicken & Wild Rice Soup was hearty and good but had an interesting surprise in it. We weren't sure if it was a giant chunk of cardboard (this is my thoughts based on texture) or a large bone, but we found a large object in the soup which was a turn off. My Blueberry Lavender Lemonade was DISGUSTING! I had two sips (my husband could only stand 1) and had to throw it away. It tasted like a lavender candle. I will be returning but Panera will not be my 1st choice with my favorite sandwich just being ok now, and definitely will be passing on the special lemonade.

Panera bread is a pleasant addition to the dining landscape of Carson City. My wife and I were there on a cold and blustery day. We had some hot onion soup that tasted great. We also had two different breakfast sandwiches. The staff was pleasant and helpful and everybody knew their role in making the guests happy. In short, when we're in Carson City, we will definitely be thinking about having lunch at the Panera bread store.

Geez why is Panera so expensive. The pick two isn't really a deal. A small side of Mac n cheese was over $8.00 and they give you bread with everything. So if you love bread this is your spot. All of of their soups contain dairy and gluten which was disappointing if you have food sensitivities. Although it does seem vegetarian friendly. I will say that this location is brand new and it's super nice inside and big. They do bake their own bread and have a large treat section. It's also a drive thru and right on the corner of the intersection. It is a healthy option for Carson and another quick place to eat is nice.

    My order

Food was good. Panera has a good product. However, service is another matter. This place is perpetually slow. Every time I have gone there it takes a while to get anything. This is my first Yelp on it. I made an online order at 4:17pm. I asked for it to be ready at 5pm in the drive thru. I arrived at the drive up at 4:55pm and waited for one customer ahead of me. At 5pm I was at the window and was told my food wasn't ready, go sit in the parking lot. I waited 7 minutes. I go and ask where is my food? Who are you? I'm G Meyer, I have an online order I made at 4:17 to be ready at 5:00. Am I still waiting for it? She tells me they are starting on my food now. She offered me cookie to placate me like I was five. How long does it take to have something ready at 5:00pm? A total disappointment in online ordering. Honest to God, you can take lessons from Wendys.

Since I'm in the area, decided to order online from my phone. Went inside to pick up order and the bagels were ready, but not the drinks. It all worked out, and I was able to get my drinks while waiting. I did ask for almond milk, and they used regular... so I'm taking those oldies too! The cinnamon crunch lattes are really good! I also got the cherry vanilla bagels, and of course cinnamon crunch.

For day one and the crowds they had everthing running pretty smooth! Drive thru was wrapped as expected, but we found some seats inside. Employees were all nice, and the food was solid as always. They were out of several soups so be aware first day jitters!

Pleasantly surprised. Clean bright Panera with plenty of parking. Service was fast and friendly. Not many baked items left at 1800 on a Sunday evening, but they had something I wanted. Dining room seemed clean and well kept. All in all a good experience.

I see this restaurant has many negative reviews, but the two times I have been here (October 31, 2022--two weeks after the grand opening--and today), and the service was excellent. This restaurant is in a new plaza (Cochise Crossing) on the south end of Carson City, by US route 50/I-580 and South Carson Street. It only opened on October 17, 2022, and was the company's second location in northern Nevada (with the one at UNR in Reno being the first a month earlier). There are two more Panera Breads planned for Reno and Sparks. I went in the early morning today and got a pastry to go (pumpkin cookie for the fall!). The manager was walking by and greeted me. I looked at all the pastries and bagels, which were freshly baked, full stocked, and thoughtfully displayed, and made my choice. I chose the self-service stations, as there were three, and only one was taken. Otherwise, there were two people ahead of me in line, but I noticed it went quickly. The self-service station was easy to use, well lit, intuitive, and clean. Almost as soon as I placed the order, I went to the pick-up hutch by the kitchen window. There was a computer display showing the status of my order. The manager saw me looking at the ready pick-up items and told me there was an order waiting with the name "Megan" she thought was mine, but it wasn't. She then quickly handed my finished order right to me. It couldn't have been more than a minute since I placed the order that it was ready! I forgot to test the free wifi, but I will next time. The restaurant itself was spotless, as was the parking lot. It was brightly lit. The store was well staffed, and the employees worked fast and were well trained. It wasn't too busy--mostly customers getting food before heading off to work. A few tables were occupied. There was even a clear drive-thru, which many of the older Panera Breads do not have. Delivery is also available if you prefer, as well as catering. One thing I would like to mention, which has nothing to do with the restaurant, is this business can be a little tricky to enter, since the entire small plaza it is in is on Cochise Street, but is blocked by Dutch Bros. Coffee on W. Appion Way. Most people will come to this location via S. Carson Street, and turn onto W. Appion, then think they can enter the plaza on W. Appion, but there is that aforementioned Duch Bros. Coffee, which is not part of the plaza. If you enter that restaurant, there is no way to get to Panera Bread. You have to turn onto Cochise St. after driving on W. Appion. No biggie, but I just wanted people who are unfamiliar with the location, like me, to know. I will definitely return to this restaurant, as it is a clean location with excellent service, good food, and plenty of space to work.

Not very much chicken salad on that sandwich. Lots of lettuce.

I haven't found another place that lets you build a salad this loaded without charging you for every extra sprinkle of goodness. Now let's talk açaí bowls. The Cool Bowl is my ride-or-die. Banana, blueberries, coconut flakes, granola... it tastes like dessert but doesn't come with the regret of eating a large sized ice cream cone of Handle's upside down pineapple cake (that's still reserved for weekends). It 100% cures my ice-cream cravings. They also have fresh juices, smoothies, and cleanse options for anyone who wants the benefits of juicing without washing a juicer afterward (bless them). Everything is fresh, thoughtfully made, and actually keeps you full. The vibe is clean, bright, and welcoming, with community tables and fun little health tips hidden around the shop. And the staff? Always smiling, upbeat, and genuinely happy, like they want you to be healthy and well-fed. If you want fast, fresh, healthy food that doesn't feel boring or sad, So Juicy is it. What I received was an amazing blend of super tender pork in a slightly sweet but tangy BBQ sauce, mac n' cheese, and a perfectly cooked (not hard or dry), very generously sized potato (big enough for two). On a chilly day, when you're hungry, this absolutely fits the bill. Warming and savory, but well balanced, and not greasy. After some bowling or billiards? Perfect. I was thinking this was probably the best flavor, when I saw the rotating ad for....a spaghetti potato pie. Will have to come back and try other varieties. The cashier was very helpful and patient explaining the menu. Checked the website and looks like they update the menu with new options too. They say they're "dedicated to perfecting the art of the baked potato," and they're doing exactly that. It's been our go to place. Today being Father's Day, we were out and about in town and decided we would eat there. All the way there I kept bragging to my grandson how great this place is and it's our go to spot. yada yada yada. It wasn't very busy and we were seated very quickly. The service has always been pretty friendly. The service today was adequate and I'll get to that in a second. My grandson ordered the pork belly, Mac and cheese. I kept saying how that is a really good choice and he's really going to like it. My wife ordered the half rack ribs with fries and coleslaw. I had what I think is called the butchers platter with ribs, chicken wings, and pork belly. The food arrived and looked pretty darn good. But that's where it ends. My wife kept saying how salty the food was. And I got to thinking about that as I was eating my wings with the so-called Memphis dust flavoring on them. Those were equally salty so I thought wow OK maybe it's just our taste buds. Then I tried my ribs and they were also salty. I tried my wife's ribs just to see if they were that salty and come to find out they really were and dry. The fries that came with my wife's food tasted like they were old like they've been sitting out for a while. The coleslaw was also bland. After bragging about the pork belly and cheese, my grandson stated that it was pretty bland with very little flavor. So I tried it just to see what was going on and sure enough it was really lacking something what I don't know. I'm thinking garlic because it was pretty darn bland. I honestly hate to give a review like this because I really like this place as I said before it's been our go to spot. Now, as far as the service the server, she was very friendly, but that was pretty much it, after getting our food she didn't even check on us until it was about time for us to leave and she brought us our check. It's just kind of weird because there's a couple of servers here that are exceptional. So I don't know what's going on, but this was a very big letdown for a couple of regular customers. As usual, the place is clean and spacious with plenty of TVs to enjoy sports. In the end, the beverages were about the best part of the meal. It was Father's Day, so my beer was free so thank you for that maybe this was just a rough day. I don't know. I don't know if you have new cooks or what but this was pretty bad considering how much we like this place and how good it has always been.

So, my local friend wanted to take me to this Thai restaurant right down on the main street in downtown, if Carson has an actual downtown that is. We got parking right in front of the place on the main street. Inside is nice and elegant in a Thai kinda way. Nicer than a casual mom and pop Thai joint. We get seated at a nice table near the front. My friend already knows the menu, so I go with hos suggestion for the Lunch special Duck with sauce over rice. It's $22 bucks, so it better be good! He has the Thai battered salmon for around $19. Soup is included and it's just a veggie broth, though tasty. Then our lunch specials come out. Oh wow, that duck look really good. It's totally deboned, so no messing with bones at all. The sauce was super tasty. My friend said he thinks its some sort of duck juice reduction with other added stuff. Whatever, this was one of the most tasty duck dishes I've ever had. His salmon was unique, I never saw a dish like that made with salmon. The coating was very unique and crispy and the salmon not over cooked. Overall, I really liked this place. I think my crew is having lunch at one of the local casinos, I'd rather be here!

The bill came to $80 which I felt was kinda steep for 3 items, especially in Carson City. At least there's plenty of parking spots. When I walked in, I was surprised to see Caucasian staff members! Well I guess this isn't that different than Panda Express where you have hispanics in the front and the 1 token asian in the back cooking. I picked up my food and was pleasantly surprised to find the dishes were pretty loaded. I started dipping into my duck curry and OMG it was probably the best I've had. Not only was the flavor amazing and spiced just right, but there was a generous amount of duck! When I went to eat dim sum recently and ordered roast duck, I got a plate of duck that was mostly skin and bones. Here they actually de-boned the meat so you're getting nice chunks of flavorful, meaty duck along with fresh chunks of pineapple, tomatoes, and spices with that yummy curry over my caucasian rice (I like to be culturally sensitive). Even my wife that don't like duck really enjoyed this. So while $80 for 3 dishes may seem a bit high, it was worth it. I really enjoyed my meal here and my kids also ate all their noodles with enough leftovers for lunch the next day.
