I used to really love Panera because it seemed like more of a "big city" type of food (at least in terms of sandwiches) than the strictly plane-Jane deli type sandwiches everyone offers (think Subway or any place where the sandwich is half lettuce). However, the quality and value seem to have gone down lately. I really can't justify spending $7.50 on a Frontega Chicken panini that has what appears to have maybe 2.5 ounces of chicken on it, oh - with 4 very thin slices of tomatoes and cheese. This has happened the last two times I've been there. Also, they took the Cuban sandwich off the menu which was my absolute favorite. Guess I'll have to try out the new deli place in the old Baker's Square location on N. Veterans. Oh - and one time I went through the drive through to place my order - when I got to the window they acted like who was I?! They said it sounded like my order was a prank so they ignored it!...maybe they need better speakers?...or better staff. Just not impressed these days. read more

This location is almost always packed and parking can be a pain, but they get the food out to you in a timely fashion and it's always hot a fresh. I almost always get the Broccoli Cheddar soup, a drink, and a $1 bakery item and spend a little under $8. They list the calories for each menu item so you know what the healthy choices are. I leave feeling full (but not disgustingly full...) and have my bakery item for a snack later in the day. I've never had a bad experience at Panera and I have a feeling I never will. read more

Customer service is dead. Just drove thru to use a gift card from my birthday. Ordered a pick 2 (sandwich and soup). Girl didn't ask my choice for side so with my sandwich I got another slab of bread (per the manager "if you don't ask for apple or chips you get the standard bread") I also gave the girl the change for the purchase so I would have an even dollar amount left on my gift card but she charged the full amount onto the gift card and kept the change. Not returning. Donated the rest of my gift card. Not worth the time. read more

We stopped on Memorial day in the 88* F heat. With 2 dogs we sat outside to keep and eye on the open car going in one at time to order. Service was fast and delcious with plenty of seating outside in the shade. We(I) sat and enjoyed food (pick two) with a green tea while checking in online~I still have a dumb phone and kindle fire. As we were finishing a manager stopped to chat, nice guy, took our dishes inside for us so we could get back on the road. Nice lunch stop while driving from Cincinnati to MN. Consistant with all of the other Panera's I've been to. I wish the turkey artichoke paninni was still on the menu!!! read more

Some of the staff have been very demeaning and rude to my in-laws. They give us weird looks and start laughing when my father-in-law asks for multiples of several different breads. My father-in-law asks in perfect English but because he is Mexican it seems they assume he doesn't have money to pay for everything he asks for. It is rude to laugh at a customer and give them disrespectful looks. Please don't discriminate because people look different than you. It's never acceptable. read more

My husband and I stopped here on the way home. We wanted a light dinner since it had only been a few hours since we enjoyed Avantis with our family. Neither of us haven't been to Panera Bread in years. I ordered the ham and Swiss; my husband ordered turkey with mayo. The cashier didn't explain that our meal would come with two sandwiches and chips. Nor did she talk the time to offer my husband cheese on his sandwich, which he would have gladly accepted. He didn't finish his turkey at all. Had we known before hand that we would be receiving two sandwiches, it would have been nice to have the option of splitting the meal and saving money. Poor communication by the cashier; you may want to give her more training. $20 is pricy when only one person eats their meal. read more

Panera Bread Restaurant Review Even before walking into the glass doors of Panera Bread, I smelt the aroma of freshly baked breads and sweets. The scent twisted and turned in the atmosphere which soon persuaded me that this was the restaurant I wanted to pursue. It was around 2:30 pm on a Saturday in which I approached the restaurant. I wanted something fast, yet filling and Panera Bread definitely did the trick. The outside appearance was very modern and casual as well as the inside. There were plenty of earthy and warm tones involved in the color scheme. It felt very inviting, comforting, and casual. When you first enter this restaurant, you might expect to be seated down by a hostess. There are no hostess or waiters/waitresses. Instead, there are registers a little ways after the doors. At this register, you are expected to promptly order your food, since there may be other costumers behind you. In my case, I ordered a soda and their famous "You Pick Two" option. Within this option, you can choose any two combinations of a half of a salad, a cup soup, half of a panini, or half of a sandwich for a low reasonable price. I happened to pick their popular Broccoli Cheddar soup and their signature Frontega Chicken panini. After ordering, the employee brightly handed me a black buzzer to indicate when my food would be ready, and wished me a great rest of my day. Thanking her, I went on to find a seat. There are many options to choose from when sitting. Some are tables and others are booths, for whichever your preference may be. My buzzer rang before I even got a chance to pick a table, so I had to go to the counter where the food was being placed. I was surprised at how fast this took- and looking at the food, it seemed well put together. When I found a table and filled my cup, I sat down to enjoy my meal. The soup was hot and creamy as it slid through my throat. For how chilly it was outside, this soup was definitely a good choice. The fluffy, crisp french bread given as a side with my meal absorbed the perfect amount of Broccoli Cheddar soup. The serving of soup given was even a good size considering I still had a panini for part of my meal. It was served in a white glass cup with a handle. Aside from the soup, the Chicken Frontega Panini was also delicious. It is made with "smoked and pulled white meat chicken, mozzarella, tomatoes, red onions, chopped basil & chipotle mayonnaise, grilled hot on Focaccia bread" (www.panerabread.com/menu). Once I took a bite, the mozzarella oozed from the rest of the sandwich making me need to take my knife to cut back the strings. The chicken was tender and complimented the rest of the toppings perfectly. There was not too much of just one thing, and was not sloppy when it was being eaten. One thing I definitely liked about this meal was that it was very appetizing. I have been here quite a few times before this one sitting, and for every item I have ate, it was always the same outcome: satisfied. One of the few things that makes Panera Bread different from other restaurants, is that all the nutritional information about each item and each serving is listed on the menu. For me, this makes it easier to see which food is right for your diet and your health. All are reasonably healthy. Although some with no doubt might be a little too much, everyone can benefit from knowing. http://www.panerabread.com/pdf/nutr-guide.pdf is an online version of the nutritional value, which is also a great source of information if you are planning to go out for a meal, but you do not want to drive all the way there and knowing what you want has too many calories for you. One of my favorite parts about this restaurant is their bakery. Majority of the bakery items are .99 cents and they are all absolutely delicious. Cookies, brownies, pastries, cakes, muffins/muffies, scones, sweet rolls, baked egg souffles, bagels, and last and not least- bread. Bread is actually the whole reason we have a Panera Bread today. Employee's at Panera always make bread and their sweets right in the morning so it is always fresh and phenomenal through out the day. Back in 1981, Louis Kane and Ron Shaich founded a company called Au Bon Pain Co., Inc within the east coast area of the United States. "In 1993, Au Bon Pain Co., Inc. purchased Saint Louis Bread Company®, a chain of 20 bakery-cafes located in the St. Louis area. We have been here several times on road trips. I would say the food at this Panera is slightly above average compared to the many other Panera Bread restaurants I have been to. I usually get the Mediterranean veggie sandwich and the one here always seems to have fresher ingredients. The service is average. The atmosphere is bright, well-lit and more inviting than many other locations, and it is very clean. read more

Panera Bread is one of my favorite restaurants. With a cozy atmosphere and quick service, Panera makes for a wonderful lunch date with friends. They also offer free wifi which makes it a convenient place to conduct business or work on homework. They have an excellent variety of foods, with many different kinds of soup, sandwiches or salads. I especially love there breakfast foods! They offer bagels and pastries all day, and before 10am they have breakfast sandwiches and soufflés. read more

This review is for Panera Bread I had the Kale chicken caesar salad with the lemon chicken orzo soup. This was one of their newer items. The soup was delicious, it hits the spot. The salad was lettuce and kale mixed with grilled chicken and some tasty type of croutons but better. They also have a good vegetarian sandwich, but my all time favorite is bacon turkey bravo. Just tried their delivery for the first time tonight, got 2 bacon turkey bravos and ordered and paid for extra bacon for both. Neither had any bacon (I'm assuming they were out) and instead, to maybe make up for it they put 2 extra pickles in with both sandwiches. They also swiped out 1 of my 6 bagels with a plain bagel (again assuming they were out). They didn't bother to call to ask or tell me any of this, or have the delivery driver tell me at the door (check your order before tipping). What gets me mad is that they still made me pay extra on both sandwiches, and didn't have the decency or the time to tell me they changed my orders. Panera's famous for running out of things, but when you're not there you can't make the choice of what to swap out. read more

The dark roast walnut coffee was great too in this far out of the way Paneras bread in Bloomington. They have so many baked goods worth trying, a few examples would be their cherry pastry, blueberry scones, and apple torts. They amazing breakfast sandwiches and bread bowl soups. The location is nice I just wish the patio area was more inviting because basically you are on display at one end by the entrance or you can sit along the side and look at a parking lot. The Internet connection outside is weak so sitting outside isn't an option if you want to surf the web while you have lunch. Have had issues with delivery, which is always a headache when you pay such a high fee for delivery to happen. If you're ordering breakfast early in the morning take note that I've never had an order on time that was supposed to be delivered before 8 am. Also sometimes very difficult to actually talk to someone at the restaurant itself. Finally have had problems with online orders mysteriously "disappearing" in the past. We'll keep using them though because they are the only business that delivers breakfast that I know of. read more

This Panera location is always wonderful with great service and delicious products, but today I was even more impressed! I was picking up my order from the drive through window. When I reached out to get my order I dropped my glove. Without hesitation the young man serving me thrust his body out of the pickup window and in an amazing gymnastic maneuver he quickly retrieved my glove! He was so sweet. I had a problem with an order - actually two separate incidents but the same issue - and I completed the online survey yesterday afternoon and shared what happened. ROTTEN AVOCADO again. When I told the worker I had brown avocado, he ask me if I wanted fresh. WHAT? You have to ask. Why do we want ROTTEN AVOCADO on our salads? Same problem exists throughout the chain. I pick out rotten lettuce/avocado from my "fresh" salad as advertised. How many times have you experienced only a 1/2 Bowl of salad? When I ask the staff- can I get a full bowl? There response is-"that's the amount we give." NO it is not. ON other visits/locations, I get a full bowl. Ordered for take out today for our office; my flat bread was half soft on one side and the rest hard as a rock like it has sat in a half open bag. Update - this place used to have very nice food but a recent experience has made me never want to come back. Very low quality food and poor service. I ordered a chicken salad in the drive through and when I got home I found they put no chicken on it! It has chicken on it - it's not even like I added it as an extra. I was very annoyed because I had my small child in tow and I had just got home and unpacked everything. I called the manager and he said he would replace the salad so I came back and went in the drive through. Manager said a quick word to me through the speaker but once I got to the window he was nowhere to be found and I had my receipt which very clearly said at the top- "Accuracy Matters- if we get your order wrong we will replace it for your trouble AND give you a free treat". Of course there was no "free treat" in my bag so I showed the receipt and the employee acted surprised I was asking for it. I think I went through a lot of trouble to come all the way back and they couldn't even honor what it said on the receipt without me asking. I ended up getting a "candy cookie" which tasted like soap! Anyway- that's not even the worst of it. Once I got home I was excited to finally eat my salad and the chicken was HORRIBLE quality. I've never had anything that bad from panera before. I figured it was just too much trouble to call and complain again so I figured I'd update my review.
