While waiting for my food, I noticed a sign advertising 3 months of Free Premium Coffee. A closer look at the sign didn't offer any details, so I asked the girls at the counter about it. Definitely a better Panera. Service was pretty darn professional and friendly. Having visited the Victorville location many times (and getting a little weary from it), the Barstow one was surprisingly more pleasant. It's cleaner, it's better laid-out. Plus, you won't trip on the area rug by the kitchen pick-up, like it always seemed possible in V-ville. Maybe all Paneras have undergone a refresh, I don't know. I do know that the Panera closest to my place, back in L.A. closed. Staff was helpful and cheerful. There was a mini-miscue with Turkey Chili still being on the menu - and I ordered it. They were super cool about it - and I tried a few other soups before landing on the French Onion Soup. The FOS was tasty, not too salty, and not the traditional caked and covered in cheese. I enjoyed that. I also really enjoyed the Turkey, BLT sandwich. Fresh, tasty, and the mayo thing was on the side, as requested. The to-go stuff like the mini scones are good. A fun addition (maybe season) was the chocolate macaroons. Yum. Coconut with a chocolate base. Very good. I ordered a salad with no chicken. It had chicken in it when I picked it up. I told them. They instantly grabbed it to throw away. I said are you putting that in the landfill. "Yes" then I said do you compost? "No" we ask do one of you want to eat it? "No" We eat our food and I notice they have a compost, food waste bin by the trash. I go back to the kitchen and say you have a compost out here and you just threw my food into the landfill? "We compost back here" oh so my food did go into compost? "Yes" then they said "we can't trust the consumer and so the compost bin you see out there just goes to the landfill" ..... what? I ordered a chicken goddess salad got it opened as I was driving realized there was zero chicken in the salad and before that I had realized they were going to try to charge me extra for the little tiny plastic containers of dressing which if you drop the wrong way will not be able to get out onto your salad correctly so I asked for an extra dressing and got it thankfully with the sort of threat that if you ask again, we have to charge so fine when I opened the box and there was no chicken that really flipped me into a different space do better Panera do better. This place is somewhere good to stop to get something quick to eat. We ordered the spicy buffalo chicken sandwich, Mac and cheese, and a grilled cheese. The spicy buffalo was extremely salty and needed some greens to help balance. The Mac and cheese is good but could have been heated up more because some of the macaroni were still a bit cold. Everything about this location was spot on. Looking for a quick place to pick up breakfast on our way to Vegas, we were a little concerned after reading reviews but chose to go with a place we were familiar with. Ultimately, we loved our food and the service. The place was very clean as well. About the food, my egg white, spinach and avocado sandwich was delightful. Fresh, delicious and the perfect size. I also tried the chai tea latte with almond milk (a first for me) and OMG was that a great choice. My husband even liked it which is not common when I use almond milk in my drink. The girl who took our order was so pleasant and friendly. Since we did take out, she was also over to help with keeping me updated on my order status and bringing out our food when it was ready. This location is fantastic, they taught of everything to make sure you feel good about sanitation. Once you walk in right away there's a hand sanitizer machine on the left. Now all the self service machines have a sign that says it's all antibacterial screen and clean every few minutes. I decided with my wife to just order at the cashier. We both of "you pick 2" because we had our coupons. I got the Mediterranean Veggie sandwich with creamy tomato soup and bread. My wife got the Half Napa Almond Chicken Salad Sandwich with creamy tomato soup too and chips. I had the Mediterranean Veggie Sandwich and it's always very delicious and tasty. This location and others seem to be consistent with the taste. My wife loved hers too! One thing that is not normal anymore is getting your own drinks, they have to do it for you. As far as the seating tables, there are signs that tell you which one you can seat. Last thing I notice to, all the food is take out style on a plate. no more real bowl for the soup, no more real plate for the sandwiches, and you get plastic utensils. read more

Would leave "no" stars if possible, driving into Vegas from Northern California, my wife placed an online order for take out at 9:30 am July 1st, 2023, for pickup at 10:30 that same day. Pulled into the Panera parking lot right at 10:30, wife walked in to grab the order to discover it wasn't up an ready yet. She waited 10 minutes and finally approached the counter and ask a young man about her order, he said if it wasn't up there, they never received it. She told him she received the confirmation from their App. that the order was placed and could he double check it, she was informed rudely by the young man that he didn't have time to do that and he turned and walked away. She left and we went to Jersey Mikes Subs, I went in placed an order and was on our way in 10 minutes. At 11:15 we received notification that our order was ready at Panera. First of all, what kind of customer service is this when the employee tells the customer that he doesn't have time to check on an order? And then to schedule the pickup for 10:30 and it's ready 45 minutes later?? This young man is very lucky that I wasn't the one that went in to get the order and was told he "didn't have time" to check on it and turn and walked away. I would have had the manager there fast. We use this app all the time and this was the first time we have had this type of lousy results from using it. Take my advice and skip this particular store, go to Jersey Mikes just down the street, they were polite, respectful and fast, and the sandwiches were delicious. Someone did call us a couple of hours later to let us know that our order had been refunded even tho our order was ready, no crap!! I've had this happen before at another Panera. I'll say it again.. I DO NOT BLAME THE EMPLOYEES OR THIS PANERA. but I don't know how to get this concept through to Panera's corporate. An over medium or over hard egg is not difficult to make, you just leave it on the griddle a few seconds longer. The cashier told me it was illegal to make the egg over medium. Which I know is bogus because I get the same thing at other Panera's all the time. The amount of satisfaction I get from eating a sandwich with fried egg over a scrabbled egg is very different. I want it over medium or over hard. Because in my experience at Panera an over easy eggs EXPLODES all over the place. Corporate needs to get their $#!+ Together and just allow people to order an over medium egg. Seriously this Panera was great I have not problem with this location. I do not understand Panera's concept of a menu. Whether you are in-person or viewing the online menu, there are no descriptions or pictures of the items. Therefore, you have to ask the cashier what is on something. She reads off the ingredients quickly, which is so unnecessary - just post it somewhere. They were out of avocado, so I didn't select the Turkey & Avocado BLT...ordered the Turkey Bacon Bravo instead - they were out of the deli turkey and needed to substitute the roasted turkey. So, not well stocked on Sunday nights.. Almost every person in the store had to be asked, "We're out of avocado, is that okay?" Mmm, not really but what are we supposed to do? There's not much you can sub it for and they're not offering $1 off or anything. 2 out of 4 of us changed our orders due to the avocado shortage, then in a bizarre twist...the two people who said no avocado was fine ended up having avocado on their sandwiches! They have screens where you can order which is pretty cool, you grab one of those devices and put down the number so when your order is ready it will vibrate. They have cups there so if you order a drink you can grab a cup and fill it at the drink station. Kind of on the honor system, so you could technically grab a drink and not pay. I got a salad and programmed my number. Me and my family sat down and grabbed our food when it was ready. Salad was good, kiddos enjoyed their food as well. Stopped here on our way home from Vegas. This was my first time going to a Panera, I loved it, to say the least. I got the "pick 2", turkey avocado and blt and the mac and cheese. It was a nice stop to stretch and eat. The staff was pleasant and it was a very well maintained store. The food came out really quick and the bread was scrumptious. I went through the drive-through and ordered the chicken, Mediterranean and grain salad With extra chicken on the side. When the girl brought the order to the window, I checked it before leaving and noticed that there was no side of chicken. I did ask her where was the side of chicken and she said they put it all inside of the bowl of salad. Instead of her going to correct the order by maybe just adding a cup of chicken since she made a mistake she decides to open up the salad, pluck all the chicken off and added it to a cup and stick it all back in the bag. I sat there and disbelief like does She not know that I can see her? Ugh When she brought it back to the window I told her I'm sorry but you're gonna have to go ahead and run that back. Meaning I need a refund there is no way I'm gonna watch you pluck chicken off of my salad and add it to a cup thats disgusting. Also, she wasn't even the one who originally made the salad so I asked for a manager Miss Alicia comes over, and decides to tell me how everybody makes mistakes. The mistake was adding the extra chicken to the salad. The disgusting part was her plucking it off mind you she put on gloves without washing her hands I'm just saying I don't know too many people that are paying $20 for a salad to have a Putha dig in it To remove the chicken that they added in error. This place is garbage. Every-time I come here they mess our order. This time is was a good one. So I ordered the flatbread margarita pizza with extra basil. I get to the window no one in front of us.
