We stopped in for lunch while we charged & ordered some chicken and a quesadilla. The food came up quickly and it was yummy. Aside from the sketchiness of the area, this spot is good. read more

Omg when did el pollo loco upgrade the menu items I was honestly shocked to see the amount of food that my order came with I haven't had el pollo loco since I was in middle school and I just so happen to try them on my way back to vegas , it was good and plentiful, I would say I don't care for the area cause it was in between rest stops and driving but the food and service it self was fast and taste fresh and the option was good enough for 2 settings. I'm happy with what I ordered and would def go back read more

El Pollo Loco - Baja shrimp bowl - Mexican Near Me - Barstow, California

Love this location! It was so clean - the dining area & woman's restroom. The associate that served us was doing double duty cleaning the dining area as we entered, and she was smiling throughout our visit. My double chicken bowl was a great portion as was the BF's chicken guacamole burrito. Extra salsa and pico de gallo were provided happily. read more

For a quick lunch after filling the gas tank, it's not a bad option. It's not fancy. Nothing here to write home about. Service and seating was sufficient. Forget about ambiance. For me, I just want some kind of salad from the usual fast food burger and fries. Their chicken tostada salad works for me. It wasn't mind-blowing, but it was tasty. And it was filling. read more

Horrible service. Person taking order doesn't understand English. Had to repeat order multiple times. No one eating here. Took 20 minutes to get food. Avoid this place read more

Stopped in Barstow to get gas and grabbed a quick lunch here. They have a pretty spacious parking lot and a restroom (be warned that it was stinky in there). Ordered through their app easily and pickup was smooth too. They did forget the guac that I ordered but the staff was quick in apologizing and giving it to us on the side. We got the street corn chicken bowl and it was surprisingly small. It comes with just a few pieces of chicken, some corn, green salsa, and pico de gallo. read more

This review is long overdue. This has been our go to fast food restaurant on the road if we are driving through Barstow. Not all El Pollo Loco's are the same. The quality of the chicken can vary widely. This one is always top notch. Their chicken is always very well grilled and delicious. Food is usually ready very quickly. The one time we had to wait because they were out of legs and thighs, they apologized profusely and gave us a big free salad as compensation while we waited for them to grill the chicken. Their sides are also very good, I especially like their corn which is mixed with diced red peppers and cooked in a buttery sauce. The staff is usually nice and friendly. The restaurant is very clean. I always ring their bell on the way out to show my appreciation. read more

El Pollo Loco - Chicken was piping hot and delicious - Mexican Near Me - Barstow, California

The girl was very friendly. I didn't have any issues with the driver thru. I ordered Double chicken tostada salad with no sour cream, extra avocado. They put the rest on the side. My issue is that first I was hungry as I hadn't eaten all day and it was after 9 pm. Now, the shell was stale, the chicken was hard. It was like picking thru the salad and it was terrible. The lettuce was awful. More harder pieces than actual lettuce. I paid 15 and change for a disgusting salad. The fresco they give you was frozen. So my experience for the first time eating here was awful. Well, they asked me contact them , so I did and it says rejected. Hmmm go figure read more

I first want to say that we love the food at Pollo Loco. That has nothing to do with this review. I want to mention about the management. We have gone into this location plenty of times. But recently the male manager that runs the register is just awful. The way he treats the customers is horrible. In a lot of way he is belittling them. If you are looking for a place to sit and enjoy your food then don't stop here. I was very disappointed. I shouldn't have to go to a business to spend my money on food and be treated wrongly. Also he doesn't treat his coworker very well. It was seen by someone that was in our party that there was problems between them. So sad. read more

I often stop at El Pollo Loco wherever I might happen to be for a quick, inexpensive and healthy meal. The menu is basically the same everywhere, but there are variations in quality from one location to the next and prices also do vary by location. I stopped at this particular location because it is a convenient stop along the I-15 on the way to Las Vegas. I found it to be neat and clean and well maintained. I presume it can get very crowded here depending on traffic conditions, but it wasn't bad the day I was there. They also have numerous outdoor tables which might come in handy on a nice day. read more

I frequent el pollo because I use to enjoy the food but the poor service I received today I am no longer supporting this Establishment , the order taker was rude on the drive thru speaker then I get to the window and she abruptly handed me the order and closed her slider window while I was still speaking to her , there was a special made request and was not prepared as requested because she clearly did not care about providing accurate or courteous service . I Do not recommend this business read more

El Pollo Loco - Kids meal for $6.99 - Mexican Near Me - Barstow, California

So I should've known better than to stop at El Pollo Loco off the freeway in Barstow CA. Look I get it, everyone is short staffed. We waited for 10 min at the front window. There was no one in front of us. A simple I'll be with you in a moment is just common courtesy. We had the chicken avacado tacos which were cold and not cooked, The chicken salad was decent. The birria tacos are suppose to be hot and the cheese is melted. We'll look at the pic. Traditionally El pollo locos are consistent, this one was substandard. 2 stars because the salad was fair other wise would of been 1 star. I hope management or corporate see's this and does a little cleanup work read more

Stopped here for lunch on the way back from Las Vegas. Normally I stop at In n Out but decided to change things up a bit. Love how they had decorated for Christmas, even had a Christmas tree. I got a chicken breast and a wing. Prices were higher than expected. Not sure if it's this location or because the pandemic caused price increases. Portions were smaller than expected. At the El Apollo I go to, I 'm never able to finish a breast so gave the rest of it and wing for another meal. At this one, I devoured these skinny pieces. I also got a cup of Mexican Hot Chocolate. It's a new item so don't assume I'm calling it Mexican because it's El Pollo. It's listed as that on the menu board. I love Mexican Hit Chocolate. This was pretty good with hints of cinnamon. A bit pricey for the cup size but would get it again.. Hubby got a Chicken Avocado burrito that he thought was just okay. Bathrooms aren't very clean. read more
