First stop on our way to Vegas! Enjoying another cup of coffee with our Sip Club subscription!!! Love the different seatings like round tables, bench type and booth seating, plus 2 leather arm chairs for more relaxing mood !!! Service exellent! Music choice very relaxing and volume just perfect for easy listening! So this location would be for sure our to go to whenever passing Barstow on the way to Vegas!!

    Chicken salad mush

It was relatively clean and the bread & potato chips were good That's what earned the 2 stars. Chicken salad mush. Over boiled tasteless chicken. Was it put in a blender? Inedible. The only high point was that the chicken salad was on only half the bread. The lemonade tasted like "where's the lemons" so switched to the hibiscus something tea that also got tossed. Unless you like throwing away money try something else!

    Sandwich and soup

I used the app to order. But the app did tell me that my order was ready. The soup on both orders was watery. The was no lettuce on my sandwich . And wasn't even busy

Does he look like he's spent 48+ hours in Vegas!? Lol

Decided to make a quick stop knowing my passenger needed to use the restroom. Being considerate, I stopped here and grabbed a drink and bagel. Also added a cinnamon roll for the road. The place was easy to get in and out of and it was spotless. Including the restroom! With a drive thru, this is a very convenient spot. Food was delicious and reasonably priced. I'll be here again when in the area.

Nice apple that they gave us for a side. Don't they check before serving rotten food?

Breakfast and coffee is very well. Their bread is incredibly delicious. I highly recommend everyone to try it. Thank you so much.

They forgot half a sandwich, but handled it wonderfully. And just gave us a free treat for the extra effort. Food was all good.

One of the best options in Barstow . . . which is kind of not saying much. The broth bowls are around 20 grams of protein

It was large tacos that were so big I could only eat one! I finished the others for dinner so there was great value to the price of the meal! My wife liked the tortilla soup, but the spaghetti and meatballs wear subpar. Now I guess, I shouldn't expect good Italian food from basically a sports bar but I'll have to say it just was relatively bland. I ordered the habanero pineapple boneless wings thinking they would be spicy-- they were not. Now I will admit, I've gotten used to hot sauce so maybe that's why they weren't that spicy. I'm not sure if they're supposed to be soft, but the boneless wings were not crispy, maybe the sauce made the better soft. But, I did not like it, I was expecting more crispy. But again, maybe is this is the way that they're served. The ambience is okay it's a sports bar. Kind of small as well but very busy. The service was great. I was greeted within less than 2 minutes from sitting down, and I had multiple servers taking care of my table. So definitely they're not lacking in service. I just think since the last time I went there and this time the quality of food has diminished.

The broth was full of MSG and I was extremely disappointed. The iced coffee was incredibly bitter and gave a bad taste for hours after. Over $100 dollars for gross food and small portions. Service was lazy. It took 30 minutes to reheat the prepackaged slop and they didn't even bring the food 20 feet to us. Chopsticks were weak, and the lady up front had a hard time listening to my order and questions. Ambiance was cheap. Dollar store artwork all over and inexpensive chairs, plastic spoons, and paper plates. Very crammed at the front with $35 labubu kid toys and they don't even have a soda serving machine. This place is a waste of your money and I would highly recommend finding a decent place to take your business. Thank you for ruining my Valentine's Day dinner, Ate8 Noodle House.

The service was exemplary. The food was great, and it was a great overall dining experience. I get everybody has a bad or off day. And in this case Black Bear Diner made it right. Which in this day and age of throw away customers and compliments means a lot. I will definitely be coming back to this. Black Bear Diner and I have upgraded my review to a solid 4! Wow. That was underwhelming. I like Black Bear diner, I've been going to them for a long time, and as I was heading back to Las Vegas I thought I would stop here and grab a bite to eat as I have always had a great experience there. Well this time, it was an exception to the rule. It was busy so I was not too concerned about the wait time, which was minimal, and they got me seated pretty quickly. Quickly. I like the little newspaper style menus as they were fun to look at and interesting to read while you waited for your server. I already knew I was going to get the mini volcano, as it just sounded like the perfect combination of stuff for me to eat for breakfast. The waitress came by, really didn't look at me, which was odd. And went back to put it in. She came back with my coffee and said the order was in. Should only be a moment. This was great news cuz I was ready to eat and get back on the road. The food came to the table and it looked appetizing enough, they had the two pancakes and my fried egg on top and a piece of bacon and a link of sausage. Flanking the pancakes with a nice garnish of an orange slice on a lettuce bed. Here's the problem. Everything was lukewarm now it did come out pretty fast which was surprising to me that it wasn't really hot. But literally everything on the plate felt like it was sitting in a dish in the back with a warmer waiting just to be built. The pancakes there are usually really good this time. They were terrible. I was very very sad about this cuz I really like their pancakes a lot. The egg was cooked well but again it was lukewarm at best. Same with the sausage and the bacon. The sadder thing was the flavor just wasn't there. Normally they have some personality to it, but these felt contrived and run of the mill. Now. I don't know if they, like Everyone else is having to downgrade and downsize because of the cost of everything, but whatever it was it was not working for me. Again, I will say that I like Black Bear Diners but the one in Barstow I will be avoiding every time I drive through. This is sad, and I hope that someone in corporate reads this because it would be great to have this restaurant be top notch when you're driving between Orange county and Las Vegas or vice versa. Bottom line? I seriously doubt that I'll ever come back here. Which is a bummer, because I am a big fan of this particular chain. There are plenty of other great eating establishments in the Barstow area. So this one I would kind of drive past. ************* Response to Black Bear Diner Corporate Thank you for your heartfelt response. In fact, it was one of the nicest chat GPT responses I've read this week. At least you got my name in there which was a nice touch and made it feel more personal, however, when you forget to put your email in there for me to respond to, that leads me to believe you really don't care. Thank you for the response albeit a very perfunctory one.

I'm not sure what prompted me to do a search about it but I did.... Say WHAT!? The current location is NOT the original one. (see screenshot) *mind blown* I digress.... I'm sure I've been here many years ago in my early 20's during some of my many road trips to Vegas but I was shocked at how STUFFED FULL all of their items were. My friend said that's what they're known for. I got the bun taco, soft chicken tacos and carnitas burrito. I couldn't believe how huge the chicken taco and carnitas burrito were!! They don't skimp on the cheese either, you can never have too much cheese in my opinion. I could only manage a couple of bite out of the burrito so I brought the rest home for the next day. Each table has their own personal sauce baskets! The bathrooms were clean as was the restaurant. I was just disappointed they didn't have the orange cream shake available while we were there.
