The staff here are genuinely friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly love what they do. It happened to be Halloween, and my dog (dressed up as Krypto the Super Dog ‍) got a full-size bag of premium dog treats from the kind gal at the counter -- such a sweet surprise! I had questions about dog food and fresh meals, and Dan, who turned out to be the store manager, went above and beyond. He walked me through different options and recommended A Pup Above - Porky's Luau and Natural Balance L.I.D. Lamb & Brown Rice kibble. My dog LOVES this combo -- even more than his Science Diet Small Bites! What stood out most was Dan's professionalism and humility -- he was stocking shelves one minute and giving thoughtful pet nutrition advice the next. You can tell this place has a strong sense of care and community. The store is spotless, well-stocked, and full of great pet supplies, toys, and treats. Her name is Nikki and she is an absolute pro. Chile's jaw is wonky and she takes that into account every time I take him in to see her. Nikki asks me about it before I bring it up. She must take great notes. Come to PetSmart in Burien. Try to score a grooming session with Nikki. If you can't book her, we've had great experiences with other groomers too. Also, be sure to tip your groomer! These folks take care of our pets when we're not there. They deserve generous gratuity!

I was not going to bring her to Puyallup from Burien so I looked for another groomer. I went to Pet Smart in Burien. They schedule Nova for the following Friday (today 3/27/2026) at 2:30. They knew the type of dog because they asked the questions. They quoted $90 - $120. Got home, called the son asked him what he had paid in the past, he said about $200. Today I arrive at Pet Smart at 2:25. They take one look at Nova and say this will take about 5 hours, we don't have enough time cause they over booked and they are closing today at 6:00, because they are having their floors redone. Sounds like bullshit. If your quote was low just say so I would have gladly paid more. It is a lot of work and I am willing to pay or you could have got it started and schedule another day to finish the job. So since they did not call to tell me they overbooked (bullshit) and they proved to be unreliable I went to The Wash Dog in White Center. I had the Nova with me and they booked me for this coming Tuesday and are charging $275 + the tip that I will give. These employees at The Wash Dog actually seemed to care more, but I guess when you are a small business you probably try to provide better customer service then a big box store. As we entered, we were greeted warmly by the employees even though they were both busy with customers, which was very sweet and polite. Once they were done, they asked if we needed any assistance or were looking for anything specific. We informed them of Link's birthday and not only were both our fur babies given treats but a birthday goodie bag. Additionally, we got a toy and some treats for them as there is also a 20% off on your fur baby's birthday! The location was very neat and organized as well as brightly lit. It's really easy to go around, especially when there are other pet owners and their pets. I also just love that they have a birthday section so you can get your pet their birthday treat or accessory. He's been sent home so many times by other groomers, we've lost count. However, Yang is THE dog whisperer! Not only did he not get sent home without getting groomed, but he did not snap at Yang! We were shocked & thought it was a fluke. We continued to bring him to Yang and each time he comes home looking amazing! We've been taking him to Yang since 2023, before he opened his own shop. One day, we tried to schedule an appointment with him at the pet shop Yang was working at but they said he left. We were devastated! I tried grooming him myself and let's just say, thank goodness it was winter so, he needed a jacket when he left the house to play with his friends at the park. Haha... Luckily, Yang's groomer buddy reached out to us with Yang's info regarding his new Happy Doggy grooming shop. I was ecstatic! I literally dropped everything I was doing and called him immediately. His schedule was pretty booked but was able to get us in within a week. When I went to pick him up today, of course, Yang never disappoints, my lil Mochi looked perfect! Again, Yang is an amazing groomer! If I can give him 10 stars. I would! We've referred all our friends to him. You should definitely bring your fur babies to him, too!
