Absolutely Amazing Experience at Pet Town Port Orchard! I've been to Pet Town Belfair before, but this was my first visit to Pet Town Port Orchard, and honestly -- it was outstanding! The staff here are genuinely friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly love what they do. It happened to be Halloween, and my dog (dressed up as Krypto the Super Dog ‍) got a full-size bag of premium dog treats from the kind gal at the counter -- such a sweet surprise! I had questions about dog food and fresh meals, and Dan, who turned out to be the store manager, went above and beyond. He walked me through different options and recommended A Pup Above - Porky's Luau and Natural Balance L.I.D. Lamb & Brown Rice kibble. My dog LOVES this combo -- even more than his Science Diet Small Bites! What stood out most was Dan's professionalism and humility -- he was stocking shelves one minute and giving thoughtful pet nutrition advice the next. You can tell this place has a strong sense of care and community. The store is spotless, well-stocked, and full of great pet supplies, toys, and treats. Buy crickets on a weekly bases for my sons bearded dragon. Alway ask for large but never seem to get large. Wouldn't complain if it was a base charge, but they do charge me for large. Not that it's expensive I just think it's bad practice. read more

DO NOT BUY from this store. We bought 2 expensive $29 harness plus tax for $63 and one did not last more than 2 months as it was defective. The clerk -or- owner (without even looking carefully) simply said that once purchased 'it's yours' (paraphrased). Then when I tried to show her how the break looked even rather than worn, she did not let me finish and simply proclaimed that it looked like it was chewed through. She said I could contact the manufacturer if I 'wanted' to request a repair. Very POOR customer service! For the price, and in the interest of promoting repeat business, I would imagine they would have at least offered a discount on a replacement or offered to help deal with the manufacturer rather than simply walk away from the problem. I was rather shocked by this abrupt and cavalier attitude and rather than try to discuss or argue in front of customers, merely thanked her and quickly left. Seems I cared more about their business not appearing unhelpful than they did. There is no reason to try to support Pet Town with repeat business if this is how they treat customers. Better off just buying small batches of pet food or litter in a pinch since Pet Town don't back the manufactured products they sell. I go here about once a month and they are all nice and welcoming. I like that they have natural food and treats to choose from and also common brands. They're dog toy selection is rather small which sucks, but for other pets they're section is a decent size. The employees are eager to help, maybe a little too eager and nosey so that's partly why I gave them a four star rating rather than five. read more

Hi, I have been coming into the store for a while now and have always had a great experience until yesterday. (December 30th-2014) The employees were LAM BLASTING dog breeders in our area. Well guess what?...Until this last year I was a Boxer Breeder in the area and know other really great breeders in the area as well. I was so offended by their remarks and their lack of caring about who some of their customers are and where they are spending their money, that I am not sure I will be returning. I realize that there are some people who breed too many dogs and don't care about where they go to their new homes or even a blood line, but those aren't true breeders, that would be called something else that isn't pretty at all. Also in my humble opinion, pet rescues can be helpful in rescuing abandoned animals, but far too zealous when attacking true breeders of a certain breed. If your going to be in an business selling animal products, you should keep your bad opinions to yourself and not spout off in front of customers...You might just not know who you are talking to. By the way I left some money for their favorite pet rescue. read more

I have had several unsavory experiences in this store. I called to let the girls know that I was going to be a few minutes late for a nail trim because i had trouble getting my cat into tha carrier.When I arrived I was greeted by a young condescending girl that asked me what time my appointment was and then looked at her watch.She then told me the manager wanted to have a chat with me.I have my own business and there is NOWAY I would EVER treat my much appreciated clients in such a manner. My family appreciates the knowledgeable staff. I came in today to buy dog food and see if they carried anything to help us with our Golden Retriever's itchy ears. Not only did an employee come to my aid in the medicine aisle, she helped me weigh my ear wash options and pick a good product. Too ensure I felt comfortable flushing my pup's ear canals, she brought me over to her own dog who was relaxing behind the baby gate sectioning off the register area. She helped me walk through the ear washing procedure with me following her hands on her own pup. What a help!!! I was able to come home with the product and confidently help my own dog. This is a fairly small but well stocked pet store (no live pets only supplies...there is live "food" for pets though if you are mice/cricket feeing people) My husband and I needed a "cone of shame" for our dog going on a licking spree for the 4th of july (Hey...every being celebrates differently) so we got him a cone of shame... these guys were so very helpful and kind. Letting us try a few on our pooch just to make sure if fit his big head. Thanks to them the hot spots are healing while we await our vet appt. read more

Awesome Place that really cares about Pets and Very Friendly

I have never took my chihuahua any where to have his nails clipped. I took him in today and they were extremely professional, quick, and cheap! My dog is a barker and tends to scream when anyone touches his nails, however they made it super easy and acted like it was nothing. I am extremely thankful and will definitely be going there for all of my pet needs! read more

For a small place the prices are not bad at all, especially considering the fact that you are able to get useful advice while you are deciding between different products, which is unheard of at big places like Petsmart where you're lucky if you can get an employee who knows what they're talking about. Thank you to the team for always being so personable, friendly, caring, and beyond this world helpful! I've always been super big on word-of-mouth. After my friend recommended Pet Town to me I decided to stop by and see for myself after he talked this shop up so much. I originally went in about eight months ago freaking out and crying when I clipped my dogs nails too short, Laura looked extremely busy when I walked in but saw all the worry on my face. She dropped everything she was doing to help me. I got some powder that stopped the bleeding with an quick and Efficient step by step before I go home. Couple weeks later my dog started throwing up, I went in looking for advice and I did not feel any kind of sales pressure (I'm a sales person myself) I was recommended some dog food and I've been hooked ever since. If they are out of stock they rush your food and then will call you when it's in. They even gave me free samples of the dog food that my dog eats while I waited so he didn't have to starve. I returned the favor by dropping off blankets that they donate to the humane society. And to top it off even though nice dog food that is proper for a healthy and happy dog is a little pricy they do stamp cards!! They also give you the security and inform you that if your dog doesn't like the dog food you can bring it back and get your money back, because they will donate it to the Humane Society. This shops has a team with hearts of pure gold. Would recommend to everyone. When this store first opened I thought it was going to be very convenient for me to shop at. I even applied for a job there and thought it would be fun to work there while I am currently going to school to be a Veterinary Technician. Well today I go in the store to check if they carried my dog's Science Diet sensitive skin food that has cured the misdiagnosed skin condition that my dog was given. One of the women working there comes up to me and asks if she can help me with anything. I said "I was wondering if you guys carried science diet?" and the Girl replies rudely "Uh, we only carry healthy food here..." I THINK I WOULD KNOW WHAT HAS CURED MY DOGS SKIN! Science diet might not be the highest quality food for dogs but once I switched to it my dogs hair has started growing back and has become softer and shinier. When someone tries to tell me that what I am feeding my dog is wrong and I don't know you at all... no way in hell am I ever stepping foot back into this store. Cookie's corner on Bethel RD has much better customer service and has a better atmosphere to the store than Pet Town does. Never going back to Pet Town. read more

What a great local pet store. Any time I have gone in the staff is always very friendly, answers any questions I may have and even my 4 year old son loves going in to see Arin. I always recommend this store to people looking for certain things and as an employee at an animal hospital I am very cautious about where I tell people to go for specific pet care items, but I never hesitate to send people to Pet Town.
