The first night we went, I ordered the vegan chili and my husband had the panda-rito. We were greeted by Alexis who was so kind and helpful about what to order. She constantly checked on us to see how we were enjoying the food. I explained that the chili was so flavorful. Let's put it this way, the food was so good we went back the next night and my husband wanted the chili too and he's not even vegan. Updating my original review After a not so good experience at Pandita, we decided to give it another try. The tacos were perfectly cooked and crunchy, and the service was much better than our previous experience. I reached out to the owner and she was really receptive and understanding. She comped our meal and I arrived 20 minutes after my order was placed and the food was ready, and warm! Service was great and I truly do believe my previous experience was a one-off and just a busy night where they had a lot of orders backed up. I think the best way to go when ordering take out is to call in your order and just be super clear with the name you order to avoid any issues. Yes, the prices are bit higher than what you typically find in Eugene, but that's because of the quality of ingredients and the food itself. As a life long Angeleno and now Oregon transplant, Pandita is the only taco place In Eugene reminiscent of the high-end Mexican restaurants in Los Angeles, so it's worth the price. Great location and atmosphere, a little small but that doesn't matter. The burrito is delicious, well crafted and plated well. Which is why I order every time. Drinks are made well and reasonably priced. Only have 2 complaints and unfortunately one of them is pretty big. First of all the hard tacos are very lackluster. Secondly and the big one, their customer service just is not the best, the people at the register are dull and seem unhappy to be there. When you come inside they tell you to go back outside just to read the menus, this just seems unnecessary. Why not just have them inside as well? Sitting next to the fireplace outside was my favorite part of the experience, the chairs were cozy and it made me feel relaxed and like I could really spend time with my family. I had the braised beef taco and it was good. I liked the coleslaw that was on top of my daughter's Panda-rito (a chimichanga kind of plate) and my other kiddo really enjoyed their veggie tacos. There is no available parking on site. Customers need to use street paid parking. It was a very pleasant experience and I really enjoyed their food, service and ambience. Maybe with time I'll be able to give Pandita a higher rating. As it stands I'm not super thrilled by my eating experience. The staff are all awesome, and am stoked to see a new taco place in the area, but there was something missing when eating here. I ordered the Pandita Fries, a carnitas taco, Adobo Chicken taco, and an Tempura Avocado taco. All of them are decent portion sizes, pricing is a little steep though, especially for the fries. As far as flavor went it left my taste buds flat. There was nothing super enticing to my pallet. Both the chicken, and carnitas taco seasoning was a bit bland for me to consider it good. I'd say ok, at best. The avocado taco, was really rough for me, I tried to like it, added both of there house sauces to different bites, hoping it would revitalize and bring some life into that taco, it didn't, almost made it worst to be honest. I do plan on revisiting soon, and trying out other menu items. Potentially have a drink at the mini bar. I will say this Pandita is better then Tacovour so you have that going. Great new place for non traditional taco truck taco's. This location does not have a lot of space, that is okay. There is still plenty of spots to eat. They are very friendly, and upbeat with the service while ordering. I will get back to service after I describe the food. I had the carne asada fries, I would definitely recommend getting those. Very delicious! Carnita's taco were very good, and decent sized, I didn't like that they had canned pineapple instead of fresh, and the next time I went I got a carne asada bowl. I would get all of the above again because everything was very delicious. The sauces they have are great. The crema. Everything. The only downfall I would say this place has is the waiting time. It is terrible. I don't know if it is due to the space they have, or what. Thankfully each time I have gone, I was not in a rush, and I am a pretty laid back person. I can see were it would frustrate other people. Because of the terrible wait time they did however offer me free chips and salsa on my to go order the last time. I thought that was very kind of them. it is small things like that that keeps people wanting to come back, besides the great food. A well-deserved and rare five-star to the newest resident of a long empty prime spot on West 11th (the old fish and chips joint). This is an absolutely superb small and cozy spot for great bistro-style authentic tacos and a diverse and interesting drink menu. Inside is tiny but welcoming, and the small outside seating area has overhead warmers as well as a large fireplace, with raised bar seating facing directly onto West 11th. This will be a jam-packed place come football Saturdays! The queso dip with corn was unique and flavorful, with fresh corn throughout - a definite winner. Braised beef taco was a hit - my wife's new favorite in town. I had the shrimp tempura taco - colorful presentation with fresh crema, cilantro, and cabbage rounded out two large tempura prawns with excellent fresh flavor. Gotta get me more of these! Crispy chicken adobo taco was very flavorful with a perfectly fried shell, and excellent spice balance in the chicken - somewhere between a tinga and a mole' is perhaps the best description. Finally, couldn't resist the recommended smashed black bean tostada - topped it with a side of carnitas and was glad I did. Bright fresh greens topped it - kind of julienned slaw with vinaigrette - perfect balance to the smashy pasty goodness of the carnitas and beans. Drink menu was diverse and fresh - too many choices during our lunch, so will bring us back very soon some evening to begin the sampling process! Spoke briefly with the owner - all sauces and prep done fresh in house; it clearly shows.
