I was treated really well at this store and I'll be going back this week although I just went two weeks ago. They went above and beyond the level of service I expect from stores in the garment district. I made the mistake of trying to pick out items on my own. I'm thoroughly out of practice with sewing and picked out about 10 spools of heavyweight thread in assorted colors before the owner corrected me. He didn't give me an attitude that he had to put back the 10 spools, which I would have deserved anyway. The prices are tremendously good, so much so I ended up w/ enough spools of 1000 meter Gutermann thread to last me a lifetime ($3 each, how could I resist?) and 5 rolls of 50 yard 1" elastic for $8 each. I have been depending upon Panda Int'l. for supplies ordered online, mailed to me during the pandemic. They've been consistently prompt, helpful and gotten my orders out quickly, unlike many other vendors. Panda is not the prettiest notions/supply store where you can get your silk ribbons and Swarovski rhinestones, but this is a small store that can save your ass if you are a student or a weekend working fashion nun. Even though the garment district falls asleep at the stroke of 5pm on Friday, Panda is the hardest working notions/supply store in that stays open on Saturdays until 3pm. (The only fabric store open on Sat is Mood) While this place doesn't carry any fabric other than muslin, you can get your pattern paper, thread, scissors, measuring tapes, zippers, shoulder pads, bra cups, elastic, etc. etc. etc. for most importantly, a pretty good price. They always have everything I need and if there is something they don't have, they will go out of their way to help to suggest alternatives or help me find it. As always in the fashion industry there are factors that can put you in a time crunch that can sometimes be completely stressful, however, the people at Panda have always done what they could (within reason of course) to rush or prioritize any urgent order or issue. I work in development at a clothing line, so a lot of times I need to find a specific zipper quickly. For the most part, Panda has been the place to go to. But, most recently I needed a satin tape, antique brass teeth zipper, and they only had #5's. Anyways, their customer service is pretty awful; most of the people working there are rude. The exception to this rule is if you do production with them. It's a different staff, and they are amazing. We got a faulty zipper in our bulk order, and they ordered a replacement from China because they didn't have any in-stock. read more

I've never been to the physical store, but I did order one of their half-body dress forms online. They were very helpful sending me all of the dimensions that I needed before hand & shipping out the dress-form in a timely manner. Price is also pretty amazing for such a good quality dress-form. I even had an issue with the dress-form after about a year, so I e-mailed them. They offered to send someone out to fix the dress form, but I live all the way in the Bahamas. So they e-mailed me photos with explanations on how I could fix the problem and I was good to go once again! I will definitely continue to use this company! read more

I have been ordering elastic and cord from Panda International during the pandemic in order to make masks. I have ordered 1/4 inch white and black knitted and braided elastic as well as 1/8 inch elastic cord. All have been of the highest quality and I have been unable to find anyone who can come close to their prices. Not only that, I receive it in 3 business days, much much faster than any other place I was ordering from before learning of this company. The service department is exceptional. At one point, I couldn't find what I was looking for, emailed them, and as soon as the product arrived, they emailed me to say they had it and would hold it for me for 24 hours. Just recently, a roll of elastic cord arrived but the box was crushed. The product was intact but I emailed them to let them know the carrier was not being careful with their packages. They emailed me twice making sure everything was ok. As long as I am making masks, I will order my elastic from this company. I don't know who you just hired but the Indian woman is BEYOND RUDE. I've been buying bra notions here for months and this time I go in and they've doubled the price from $5 for a bag of gold rings and hooks to $10. So $20 total for 2 bags. Then when I mentioned my surprise at the increase she got a major attitude and said, "these aren't plastic" with the most condescending tone. Yeah I'm aware? Then she asks another guy working there to confirm the cost and she goes $20 PER bag so the new total is $40. So messy lol. I'll just come back when the nice Asian woman is working. The two ladies that work the front counter at this store , need to learn how to pay attention when serving customers and also learn how to treat there customers. I think this store should consider hiring additional front help, (trained by someone else). because they take there frustrations out on the customers who are trying to shop there. I will also encourage this place to add $10.00 min signs around there store, in my case I wanted to add on to a cash purchase I just made ,realized I needed something else and couldn't use my debit card , even though I didn't leave ,the store or counter and They do offer exhange & store credit for items purchased. credit They couldn't figure ANYTHING out to accommodate my extra purchase. I was told this by a little yelling lady at the store in front of customers Very poor service, and I was nice to her! (I surprised myself,) it felt like I was dealing with my husband, I never been so discouraged in the attempt to spend more money at a store I had a awful experience at this store today!
