My first lunch visit was questionable, but second lunch visit a week or two later was better. The first visit I ordered Szechuan Chicken, but it tasted like chicken pot pie - very bland with a thick chicken gravy with reheated, overcooked (frozen?) vegetables. The second visit I ordered the Broccoli Beef, which was much closer to expectations - on par (or only slightly below par) with an average Chinese restaurant, but I prefer what I make at home (vegetables aren't mushy and sauce doesn't taste canned). The Hot and Sour Soup is good, but different than the typical H&S soup served elsewhere - here it is neither spicy nor sour but is enjoyable if you ditch expectations. The Pork Fried Rice that comes with combination lunches is good - dark and tasty (very bland elsewhere around here). Service is efficient, kind, and attentive. Prices have increased as with everywhere else, but still reasonable for the hearty portion size and complimentary "extras" (hot tea, soup and egg roll and crab Rangoon in combination meals, chopsticks, table dining). This place is a top choice in the area for Chinese, but falls behind compared to Vancouver and beyond. I wouldn't reject returning, but I'm in no rush.

This place has a lot of bad reviews, but the food is honestly good and affordable. Waitress has always been extremely friendly, service is fast, hot food and huge portions. I believe they sometimes get confused with panda express and this may be some of the bad reviews about the food.

    Pow pow platter

This was the first time we tried this plate well platter to be exact, it's the pow pow platter, it's an appetizer that comes with crab puffs, egg rolls, paper wrapped chicken, bbq pork, fried shrimp and the most flavorful beef skewers called chow chow beef. Service was excellent and food was great! Definitely recommend trying if you havnt yet.

I like good Chinese food. This place is really good. I have been here twice now and it has been very good both times. The first time we ordered 2 different ones of the lunch specials to go. We had enough food to feed 4 people and 2 kids easily, and still had left overs, This time we ate in the restaurant, so we had hot tea and soup with our meals. This place adds the little touches that make a traditional Chinese restaurant fun. Kinda reminded me of lunches in Chinatown back in Los Angeles. Enjoy the photos.

For $21 a person we had general Tao with a thinner than other restaurants, sauce is bursting with flavor. Mongolian beef was spot on for me. Super tender beef slices with a touch of heat without the lip tingles. The table service was good glasses kept full and tea was hot. The restaurant is the typical decorating for family dining dragon chandeliers, vinyl booths with traditional Asian music playing softly in the background.

Our absolute favorite is the General Tsoas with white meat and Singapore noodle with no onion. The hot and sour soup is my absolute favorite also. The service is very quick, which is nice, especially when you are really hungry! It's also nice to go to a restaurant, with your family, and you can actually hear each other talk and enjoy each others company, rather than trying to yell over some loud music playing. (That is not cool when some restaurants are so loud you can't hear the person sitting across from you! ANNND lastly, the bathrooms are ALWAYS clean!!! If you are in Longview or want to eat some amazing food, I highly recommend Golden Palace in Longview.

He always treats his customers like they are the ONLY ones in the restaurant, even when the place is crowded...which is a lot more often these days! We met his new helper, Jacob, who is personable & engaging. He seemed genuinely happy to be there! Now for the food! Our favorites have always been New York Steak Yakisoba (w/Chicken or Shrimp) Spam Pineapple Fried Rice (AMAZING!) It has taken us a long time to try anything else because these are SO good! But last night we felt adventurous & ordered Pasta Arrabbiata & Pasta Alla Vodka. Now we have 2 more dishes to add to "Our Regulars"! We topped our evening off with an amazing dessert, Pistachio Ricotta Cake. What a delightful combination of flavors!

The owner, Max is a mad scientist! Everything on the menu is his creation or his version. From the Pepsi Cola Chicken, the Spam fried rice to the deep fried desserts are amazing. Max could probably find a way to deep fry beer. =) I even tried the teriyaki made with chicken breast; it was not dry at all. My wife and I enjoy dining at the bar; it's comfortable and welcoming. We transplanted from Kent in April and Columbia Eats is now our go-to restaurant.

The green beans are always overcooked and the general S. chicken is breaded weird the Mongolian beef is chewy beef and not the proper flavor. The hot and sour soup is not very flavorful either and the ingredients are too big. There are a lot of carbohydrates here and not enough vegetables, dishes, beef or seafood. Honestly, if they would hire a proper cooks, this place could be a 3 1/2 4 Star Pl. as of right now it's only a two star. The other problem is one of the Asian waitresses rushes. You out the door after you have two plates even if there's not very much food put on them she brings you, your Bill, which I think is rude. So that is offsetting in my opinion it doesn't make you feel welcome or want to go back often when you're being rushed out the door.
