Recently opened... This is one of 2 great Chinese Restaurants in Spring Valley, Hubby and I decided to try this place out one night when I was feeling to sicky to cook as always I was surprised with him showing up with a dozen roses in one hand and 2 pizzas in the other for the little ones of course! Well we walked in and were greeted by the entire family it seemed dad, mom and the daughter was our waitress (very helpful w/ menu) this being our second time here at this point first time was LAST WEEK! after a late movie we loved it so much that we came running back as if they're handing out free "salt & pepper chicken wings" ! Nice big clean restaurant they also have a television with Asian channel on I think its cool and yes "My goofball self" tries to copy everything I hear on that channel. The orange chicken is served over a bed of lettuce, nothing but pure WHITE chicken breast is used for the orange chicken its Soooo good tastes like P.F. Chang and Panda "Express" and don't try to lie.... We all love their orange chicken!! Well this dish is crispy, and delicious fresh orange zest you see and taste oh yea and smell. Second dish: House chow mein ... Well can't go wrong with noodles beef, shrimp, chicken and BBQ pork yup BBQ pork to this dish is very tasty. We had fried rice... rice was okay nothing fancy about it other dishes definitely made up for the bland fried rice. (No veggies nor egg) Lastly we also had wonton soup YUM the broth flavor along with the wonton itself was amazing meat used is (shrimp) for very little money you enjoy a nice tasty warm shrimp wonton soup. **Almost forgot after dinner FREE DELISH MANGO PUDDING (more like Jello) dessert!!** We've gone back several more times after this of course with the family and they love it! Dishes we've tried and you might like some feedback on: Orange chicken: 10/10 *'s BBQ Pork: 5/10 *'s. Seems to wet like frozen then defrosted flavor. Chicken Chop suey: 7/10*'s really good I just like different sauce. Broccoli beef: 8/10 *'s Great flavor soft beef deducted 2*'s very little meat in dish. Chicken Chow Fun: I love this noodle dish! In my case I prefer this over the house soft noodles. But they are both great. House Beef: 10/10*'s Crispy tender beef w/ lil spice very flavorful with veggies (LOVED IT HIGHLY RECOMMEND!) HUGE EGG ROLLS (fish filet inside) Egg drop soup (very good w/veggies) my lil girl requested egg drop when feeling sicky they were kind enough to take the vegetable's out for her because she had dental surgery. The owner's are very nice and will gladly accommodate your requests so please go try this place because you won't be disappointed. They also have great lunch special's for only $5.99 The menu is not $$$ its more like $ so don't let the typo detour you from trying this flavor filled meal that's begging to be on your next meal list. Best of luck and enjoy ;) read more

I think this place is ok. So here's my experience. My orders are straight forward and very simple. I asked if they have a wor wonton soup, they said they never heard of it.. but it's printed on their menu. Lol. I also ordered a vegetable chow mein, they said mixed veggie? I said yes, mix veggie chow mein. I get there to pick up.. repeated my order and they made mixed veggie chop suey instead chow mein. No biggie, I'll sit and wait. They made it and told me I made the mistake in ordering. They said there's no noodle in chop suey.. no shit I ordered chow mein and that's exactly what I said. Don't blame me because you got the order wrong. read more

Selected this place for my birthday dinner, party of 9, based on previous reviews. The table was ready when we arrived. The food was good, especially liked the chicken vegetable soup, egg rolls, & vegetable lo mien. Although the interior is nothing fancy, our service was spectacular. We loved the lazy susan at the table that was large enough to hold the 13 dishes we ordered. I would select this place again for a group of up to 10 ppl. Very affordable as our meal with a tip was less than $150 for all of us. They seemed to do lots of takeout, but the dining area was pretty empty (bonus for us) and we took home 4 clam trays of food. Planning on coming back soon. read more

I have home here on multiple occasions and have not been disappointed in anything I tried. The walnut chicken is by far the best, along with the wonton soup. Service is quick, and everyone is super polite. read more

I love this place. The food is delicious. The quality and flavor of the food is consistent-always delicious. My favorites are: house wonton soup, house fried rice, shrimp with scrambled eggs, salt and pepper: pork chops, chicken wings, shrimp, squid (basically calamari), and eggplant, Bbq egg foo yong, sesame balls, curry, mixed vegetables, fish in black bean sauce, pan fried noodles, orange chicken, and fried fish. The shrimp and scrambled eggs are a Cantonese comfort food. The closest thing would be an omelet, but the eggs are flavorful, light amd fluffy. My husband loves the salt & pepper chicken wings above other places. He loves it so much that we order a party tray just for us. The party tray was more economical than ordering two platters of wings. More delicious wings for the buck. The prices are reasonable and food portions. Unlike many restaurants that hiked up their prices during the pandemic, Panda House did not. They are affordable. I fed my family of 6 on $45. Since we could not dine in, I ordered through Beyond Menu. It's easy. You can even enter special instructions. My order is usually ready withing 20 minutes. For the orange chicken, I asked to make it mild, no spice for the kiddos. They happily obliged. Try them out. read more

I always do take out from Panda House.. You can never go wrong with salt and pepper chicken wings. My daughter favorite is beef and broccoli. One great thing about them they can make you party trays when you call them 30 minutes in advance. The place is a little outdated but the food is great! read more

Panda House - Chinese Near Me - Spring Valley, California

So here me out...it's not high quality Chinese but it doesn't pretend to be either. If you keep that in mind, it's actually pretty good, food wise. The customer service is super poor and you will probably get yelled at if you even try to complain. I hate to say it but the employees are just genuinely not nice people. The place you pick up your order from...Sketchy. The food itself is good and well priced. If it wasn't, they wouldn't have stayed in business this long. read more

good decent chinese food, one of the better ones in the local area, will come back again

I used to love their food but today will be the last time I get anything from there. The entire restaurant is filthy (you can see through their drive thru window) and be prepared for rude customer service. Also, whatever time they give you for your food to be ready, be sure to double it. They just started putting pepper in the cream cheese wontons which ruins it and the egg rolls were undercooked. Don't get food from here. It's convenient if you live nearby but Golden Chopsticks and Royal Mandarin are worth the drive. read more

I am confused on how to write this article so I will attempt to do my best staying positive because I do not want to hurt anyone's business. I will start with the parking lot which has beautiful foliage. The paint job is spectacular and appealing to the eye with a vibrant red. Upon entrance there is a coy pond to the right hand side that frankly really made me upset to the point where I wanted to ask the owner who greeted us immediately if I could clean it for them because I felt so bad for the fish. It was just NASTY. It was from the continual water flow but the filter might have been broken for an extremely long time and there was sludge everywhere including the tubing from which the water flowed from. But that has nothing to do with the food. The owner rushed over to greet us immediately as previously stated with a beautiful and welcoming smile. She advised us that we could sit anywhere that we wanted to and we elected to sit in a booth on the left hand side. There are two huge TV's on the walls parallel to each other which made it a bit un-personable in my opinion but again, that has nothing to do with the food. We were given a menu and the waitress rushed over to find out what drink we wanted. I requested a pot of green tea and the waitress whispered "Hot Tea"? I replied yes (is there another way to get a pot of green tea?)... we were brought crispy wonton chips with sweet and sour sauce right after. On every table there are two pieces of paper (go look at the picture) with a different special and pricing that should have been on the menu. There was also hand writing in and on the menu, so I guess they are expensive to print new ones. It just really looked tacky. We started with the Po-Po platter that includes 2 of the following items vegetable egg rolls, chow chow beef skewers, BBQ ribs, fried circular shrimp, fried chicken wings and fried wontons. Everything except the wontons stuffed with cheese and the chicken wings were good to me. This was delivered in a good time frame. A bowl of egg drop soup came out next preceding the Mongolian beef plate that was accompanied by a single egg roll and fried rice for my man and I ordered Squid with black bean sauce that came with a small bowl of white steamed rice. The Mongolian beef was flavored decent but seemed as if it were too sweet and the cut of meat was very grisly. The fried rice was great after dousing it with soy sauce, I am sorry but it tasted old or reheated via microwave. The squid was actually pretty good but was over cooked and had way too many bell peppers and onions that took away the taste of the squid. The steamed rice was the bomb and I wanted to mix the sauce from my place but there was no room for it. As we were eating I noticed the patron in front of us leave and I swear to you that this is what I saw. The waitress walked over to the bus tray and grabbed a dirty rag, she walked over to the table and laid it down. The waitress gathers the dishes and takes them back to the bus tray then lays them in their perspective places. She walks back over to the table and grabs some napkins from the dispenser and wipes the table with them throwing the food on to the floor. With her hand she wipes the food that has fallen on to the booth seating and scrapes that on to the floor as well. Next, with the dirty towel from the bus trays she spot cleans the table and walks back over to the bus tray and throws the towel back in it. I am not sure if this was a one time thing but I am pretty sure that it was not. I used the bathroom prior to leaving which was also in need of attention with their soap dispensers leaking down the sink and on to the floor. I think I was upset watching that older woman busting her butt watching the other employees taking what seemed to be promotional pictures of them pretending to be on the phone taking orders rather then actually working. She should have made them clean the bathroom walls and the soap drippings along with the coy pond that is going to have dead fish soon. If you have time to lean, you have time to clean. PERIOD The best thing that I ate was that circled fried shrimp that came with the Po-Po platter. It was freaking amazing and I wish I had a plate of them right now. I would come back here again but I think that I would bust out my sanitary wipes and just wipe the table down first. That is all I am saying. YOU HAVE TO TRY THAT SHRIMP! read more

First and foremost, the reviews commenting on the English are racist and rude. This place is great, been eating here with the girl for years now. There isn't much we haven't loved, but this place is not for everyone. If good food at afforable and reasonable price is what you're looking for then look no further. If you want fancy place with over pricced food but someone to wipe your behind then go somewhere else so us locals can eat here in peace! The server is very nice and friendly, she is always making conversations and while we eat, we can tell she has a good relationship with all her customers as they come in for food. She remembers us well and knows what we like, the Lunch Specials are on point, try the Sesame Beef or Chicken and definitely the BBQ Pork. Hot plates are great and give the whole table a show. read more

If I could I would put no stars. They clearly don't have the ability to maintain their order processing. I waited for 30 minutes for them to tell me they didn't have my order ready that I called in 45 minutes earlier. What's the point of phone orders if they aren't ready when you arrive. I ended up leaving due to the chaos of people just waiting in line and arguing about where orders were. This process caused no social distancing at all. They need to get it together fast. This is bad service that I will not support. read more

I've lived in spring Valley for 20yrs and always drove by but never cared to stop and eat. Till one day I had a business meeting at Panda House. That day made this place the best place to get SALT and PEPPER WINGS. Perfect amount of salt, crispy chicken , garlic, red chile pepper seeds and the green onions. Oh also the chicken chow mein, orange chicken and beef and broccoli are Delicious. Royal Man..... has nothing on Panda House. read more

Nope! I love seasame seed chicken and this right here is not sesame seed chicken...for $10.25 for a combo at that, I'm highly upset! The only reason they're getting two stars is because they gave me an egg drop soup for free. Will not be eating here again. read more

Doesn't look like much when passing by but a good reliable spot for the salted pepper wings. I placed a last minute order for a holiday party and they gladly accepted it (3 hours before pickup). Good customer service and food was delicious! read more

We tried this place twice because we had some kind of errand in San Diego. Their food serving is big, not stingy. I ordered the Sweet and Sour Chicken Lunch Special and my husband got the Shrimp with Lobster sauce ala carte. On our 2nd visit, I had the Mongolian Beef Lunch Special and hubby got the Fish Fillet in Bean Sauce. Food is really flavorful. You can't go wrong with this place. Very good Chinese foods to choose from. A must try! Place is clean, but kind of outdated, but we don't really mind, we went here for the good food! read more

My favorite place to eat quality asian food. Huge menu, and even bigger portions. I usually get general Tso Chicken, but I ventured off the normal food I get and tried sweet and sour pork. They made it with fresh onions, peppers, and pineapple. Pretty impressive. My fiance got the teriyaki chicken with broccoli and it looks like they used about 3 chickens on her one plate! Always love this place and the service is off the chain! read more

This place was absolutely disgusting. The chicken in our chicken fried rice was not even cooked and looked horrendous. The chicken chow mein didn't even taste like chow mein. I called in an order. General's Chicken. I know, Not Chinese. I don't care, the guy that invented it is a genius! When I arrived at about 6 PM they are busy and there's people with walk-in orders totally blowing up the reception counter. I just sat in the waiting area for the mess to finish, maybe 5 minutes. No big deal. I'm glad they have business. They probably wait all day for the dinner rush. They were very nice. Maybe not at the top of the restaurant service efficiency game, but they were getting it done. The food was pretty good. If I held that General's chicken up against other versions I've had, it was a little different. Theirs was lacking the vinegar kick and they took liberties with the vegetable accompaniment (but who gets the General for the broccoli anyway?) still it was pretty good and worth having again. I want to explore their menu for the more traditional. If you live nearby, this place is a great way to avoid cooking. Oh, I should also mention HUGE portions. read more

Heard some good things about this place and it's so close to the boys house we decided to try it. We saw pictures online and tried to order what it is we saw... didn't work out too well. The chicken dish and wonton soup we ordered were tasty but the menu wasn't descriptive so they came loaded with all sorts of ingredients and veggies...some of which I hate. Sorry but I don't and never will understand why baby corn exists. All in all, I think a second visit is certainly in order. The crab & cream cheese wontons were some of the best I've had...but I'll definitely remember to ask "what else comes in that" for other dishes. read more

NEVER EAT HERE! Yes, the food was delicious, I will give it that. Everything we ordered was wonderful, but what does that matter if they STEAL FROM YOU?! Bill - 65 dollars. We give 50 bucks in cash (2 twenty dollar bills and 2 fives), so the rest that goes on the credit card should be 15, right? WRONG! It says 35! And when we confront the waitress she says we only gave 1 twenty and 2 fives (30 total) LIARS!!!!!!!! We were the only ones there at the end of the night so its not like it was hectic and she misplaced, we all specifically remember the amount of cash we left, no one had the extra twenty on us, so basically they STOLE IT. She said she would count out her till at the end of the night and if she was over, she'd give us a call. Foolishly and hopelessly we agreed, but OF COURSE they call and say their till was perfect (of course its perfect with EXTRA money in it). They are flat out THIEVES! Or maybe that waitress was and just pocketed that 20. B*TCH. I have never had that experience anywhere. They deserve ZERO stars for COMPLETE dishonesty. DON'T RISK YOUR MONEY, TIME, and STRESS. There are other Chinese restaurants out there that are just as good and WON'T STEAL from you. read more

After years of trying to find a decent Chinese place near Lemon Grove - we finally found a spot that we will consider being regulars at. We found Panda House on Yelp and we were wary of trying a Chinese place with few reviews (as the place has only been opened for under a year). We had difficultly with the online menu, it appears that they don't have Orange Chicken on it (which they do serve) - so we had to end up calling the place. An oriental man picked up that had a thick accent, and I ordered my food. I asked if they had white rice with the order and he said yes. We pulled up and we noticed there were few vehicles in the parking lot. It was around 6 or 7 on a Friday night, usually if a place is good there would be people eating here. We walked in and noticed that the fish tank was a little dirty. Our radar was saying "Oh no, this food won't probably be good." Well we were wrong. I ended up ordering the following: -Orange Chicken: It was actually pretty decent. Just like a Yelper stated before, these people use some quality ingredients. -BBQ Pork Appetizer: I was wondering why an appetizer portion cost $8, but once I opened the box I knew why - there was plenty of beef! The flavor and quality of the meat was pretty good. I have to say, the sauce they add on top sure compliments the dish. -Kung Pao Chicken: Probably one of the best items we ordered. Most places label there Kung Pao as being "real spicy." Well these people got pretty damn close, without us asking for it to be hot. I will definitely be ordering this dish in the future. (Highly recommended!) -Chicken Chow Mein: Your average chow mein, was pretty decent. I wasn't overly excited about it - but it's better then most places. Again the Chicken they had on it was quality stuff - it made the dish. -Stir Fried Rice: Wait what? I didn't order Stir fried rice -- I wanted white rice. Oh well. I'm not much of a fried rice person, and I remember why. These people just basically added egg and that's about it. Not very flavorful. So here's the run down: PROS: Good tasting food, decent prices, quality meat, good location (for me) CONS: They don't understand English too well (they got my rice wrong!), the online menu didn't have key items on it, and the area is pretty rough. I will be back soon. read more

After reading yelp reviews, I figured I'd give this place a try.. We weren't in the mood to carry out so delivery was a PLUS! Once we received our food, I quickly noticed how bland everything looked..nevertheless, we were starving so we started eating..-_____- How disappointing! The worst salt n pepper chicken we've ever had! Meat was dry, tasted like old oil and had no flavor what so ever! Salt n pepper shrimp..shrimp was over cooked, rubbery..no flavor. We had also ordered sesame chicken (yes, we ordered plenty, we were starving!) The sesame chicken itself wasn't that bad..flavorful, but sauce was drenched, considering everything else, it was good...With each of the entrees, we ordered fried rice..*sigh* we couldn't even find it in us to eat it..Let me make it clear..I'm the type that finishes everything on my plate, and makes sure my daughter and husband do as well. I don't like wasting food, i will eat anything! But, the fried rice..it was either extremely old or undercooked..I needed a cup of water just to finish the spoonful in my mouth..definitely took it away from my daughter before she choked. Overall, two stars..one for delivery, half for sesame chicken and other half for their portions.. read more

Worse place ever. Horrible service, bad customer service. Old lady at front Very rude. Will not recommend this place at all.

Best Chinese food in the area. The staff are very courteous. The interior is a step back into the past - very old school Chinese appearance.

I've ordered several times for party trays because it's near my place. The fried rice is good. The chicken wings are good, but not as good as Royal Mandarin or Golden Chopstix in National City. The walnut shrimp is good too. If you live in Spring Valley and you don't want to go all the way to National City, this is a pretty good place to get your Asian food. read more
