I was actually surprised at how many people stopped in to get big containers of to go food. I hope this is not the most authentic place in St.Charles. Oh well to each their own... We were there too for some quick on the go dinner. Typical fast food Chinese. I did actually enjoy the chicken,mushroom and zucchini dish and liked the sauce it was in. Their fried rice was ok. It's Chinese fast food-- obviously not going to be anything to write home about here. I used to like PE every once in a while, but now that I stick to a pescatarian diet, there's almost nothing here for me to eat. Even if there was, the quality doesn't justify the calorie count. I went here today to pu food for my bf, got him a 3 entree plate with fried rice and a drink. I also got myself an order of crab rangoon (3) and a side of chow mein. It was aiight. The store itself was clean, ample parking (since everything else in the complex is either abandoned or closed on Sundays) and the staff was attentive. No drive thru at this location. I do think it's a little expensive for what it is. If I'm going to spend $17 on a fast casual lunch, I'd rather go to another nearby option like Panera or Chipotle. I'll be back, I'm sure-- but no time soon. read more

I've been coming here since they opened and ate here at least twice a month during my junior and senior years of high school. I missed it so much when I went away to college, so I always had it when I came back. I loved everything (especially the orange chicken) up until the night before I was supposed to leave to go back to school after spring break when it all tasted a bit off and I got the worst case of food poisoning I'd ever had... I was sick for 3 days and it took me 2 weeks before I could eat normally again. That was almost a year ago and I cannot bring myself to come back here. This place has gone from to worse. I got a bowl of veggies and orange chicken. My wife got noodles and orange chicken. We both wanted a cup for water. Here's what we got 1) $1.75 for each cup of water 2) cold orange chicken 3) long wait for veggies 4) we each only got 6 small pieces of chicken I asked for the owner and was told he never comes in. No manager at this time. Called the next day and gave my complaints to the manager. No apology, just told it's a corporate decision to charge for water. Also told that 6 pieces were actually a lot. I only got on here to review the service not the food. My kids love Panda. We have been coming to this one for years. I was a little surprised to see some of the negative customer service reviews. The kids that work here are always friendly, fast, and seem to be busting their butts off working. It's always clean. Walked in manager sitting at a table talking to crew member(I realize this is normal) walk up to order and they are out of multiple entrees that both my husband and I wanted. They then proceed to make the food as if they were not going to make more. I had been craving Panda for weeks. When I finally went in for lunch I was left disappointed. There was a wait on almost everything I wanted. Which, being lunch time, I didn't mind too much. Stopped in for the first time in a while. Food is typical fast food Chinese - American fusion. New "Premium" offerings for an additional $1.25, BUT the biggest surprise was the size of the portions. The "plate" aka Styrofoam box is about 25% or more smaller. It appears the prices are somewhat higher too. So two entries with one side and a medium drink ran $13.28 with Tax. At that point call the local place for take-out. And get the real thing for about the same price. I know prices are on the rise, but there are just too many better options out there. You'd go in there at common lunch time (12:00-1:00) and things looked as if they had been sitting there for awhile. If your looking for a quick Chinese lunch, go to Silver Lake. Food is usually fresh but that's because I always have to wait for something to be cooked. The last trip the bowl I got wasn't very full. Usually it is really packed but maybe because it was busy and they were trying to get all the orders out that were waiting for orange chicken, they didn't really give as much as they usually do in my same order. Hopefully they were just having an off day in terms of getting the orders ready. The staff was nice as usual and the food was good since it was cooked while I waited. I don't like this location ever since they change the store manager again inthis year. I used to stopped by for lunch when the old manager was there. Their service was fast and nice with the old manager. However, everything changed since the new manager came this year. This young lady has no control over the food quality. Even though panda express sell the same type of food in most of their store, I would say this location does not offer the same good food as the one in Batavia. The Manager is busy cooking, ignoring the whole thing. There were a few food items missing so can't choose much. Trays look like they haven't been stirred in awhile. Fried rice had lumps on them. I ordered orange chicken and Kung pao with fried rice. As expected rice was cold, even though I asked the server to stir it up before serving. What's happening to the quality of food and service at Panda? This could possibly be the worst Panda Express I've ever been to and I'm a 10-year long customer. I was told I had to wait a few minutes for string bean chicken - no big deal. 20 minutes later, nobody had called me to the counter. I walked up to the counter to find my dish waiting on the ledge, cold. All of the staff were busy socializing, one guy was even using vulgar language. My 6 year old son even pointed out that "that man said a bad word". I asked them how long my food was sitting there and one of the staff said it was there for a while. As 2 staff members offered to get me new food (which I declined), another was laughing at the other for his mistake, which I found highly inappropriate. NOBODY offered an apology. It is quick, fast Chinese food. The quality is okay and depending on timing, luck, or fate . . . your food can be very fresh or your food can seem like it has been sitting a while waiting to be eaten. If you get a fresh batch, the orange chicken with white rice is my favorite. My 13 year old absolutely loves the orange chicken and considers this a staple of life. My oldest son loves the shrimp and walnut with chow mein. Actually, he loves the shrimp and picks out the walnuts. You can get better Chinese food elsewhere but this is a good place for a quick meal that satisfies your hunger especially if you are lucky enough to get a fresh batch of food! Also, it is a good place if your little "pandas" love the place. At least it is a better choice of food for the kids than a greasy, fast food burger joint. The key word is for the kids . . . a nice greasy burger does sound good to me! ;) read more
