This Panda Express sits on Gallatin Pike in the plaza featuring PetSmart, Twin Peaks and more, and for the most part is your standard Panda location. This location is on our rotation for quick and easy weeknight dinners. We have never had any issues with the food or service. Only issue is the later it gets in the evening, the less chance you have of getting what you are truly after. They are not very keen on making new food in the evening, even if there is an hour left before closing. Inside is clean and well maintained, while conditionally the building is in good shape. I asked for the mushroom chicken; later I realized that my serving had a dime-sized portion of chicken. No kidding, just one tiny scrap! Everything else was just meh. Oof, what a terrible experience. Absolutely 0 out of 10 would not recommend. As I was served (I got a 3-entree plate), the person serving me noticed a hair in my food. He turned around, asked his manager what to do, and she told him to "just take it out." He proceeded to pull out the hair and flick it to the floor....just tossed just the hair out (not the food), and then turned around, wanting to know what else I wanted. I could only respond with "yea... no" and asked them to make me a fresh plate. Which they made me a fresh entree, but not a fresh plate. The manager hid in the back until I left and no one would even look me in the eye. I had to wait for the fresh entree to be made, which was just fine, but they served my fresh food on top of the noodles which were in the hair-contaminated-food. I wish I had just left, honestly. I would give them a zero if I could. The employees are rude. They don't say a word to you when you pull up to the window or thank you when you leave. The app is the worst food app I've ever used in my entire life! It locks your phone up. They leave you sitting at the window for 10 minutes without reading that even in the drive-through. I went there at around 9:15, and there was no line in the drive thru. They were prompt to take my order but apparently not to get me my food. The lady at the window hardly spoke English and she said to wait 3 minutes for fresh chow mein to be done which is no problem at all. But it ended up being about 15-20 minutes until I got my food. I mean she was kind, but she was very confusing. They did get my order correct, and the food was hot and tasty, but having looked at the previous reviews beforehand, it seems that I was one of the luckier ones despite the ridiculous wait time being the only one in the drive thru. This place is so poorly run. They consistently lose track of orders and give you the wrong box at the register. The boxes are written in code so unless you open it all up before leaving you won't realize until you go to eat it. They are too busy trying to upsell you. After all that, the food isn't even good. I've read some of the recent reviews of this Panda Express and I can both understand them and are confused by them kind of. I have, in the past, encountered where they refused to keep the String Bean Chicken on the bar. They would only cook it to order, which didn't make alot of sense and if you ordered it at the drive-thru they would just tell you they were out. This had me going from Panda every week to I just started going back after a years absence. I really only like the String Bean Chicken, it's simple and not difficult to heat up, I would go through the drive-thru and they'd tell me they were out, then one time I went in after getting denied in the drive thru and they told me they only cook it to order. Every time I would submit the survey in hopes something would be corrected only to go again and have the same thing happen. That's alot of work just for String Bean Chicken which is why I gave up on the location. However, a co-worker came a week or so ago and was delighted to tell me they got String Bean Chicken through the drive-thru. So I took lunch and went straight to Panda Express to see for myself. Lo and behold they did indeed have the String Bean Chicken available I got a bowl with an a la carte extra along with an egg roll and medium "sweet" tea. I don't know about the tea, it's never sweet. The food was fresh, hot and tasted delicious. Like I had never stopped going there honestly. The drive-thru attendant was pleasant and fast, I will be returning to this location. The portions are very small at this Panda. They have a little scoop that they shake to make sure doesn't have too much on it. It's clearly intentional that ownership/management must heavily monitor their portions at this location. Whatever you order, it's more like you are getting a sample of it versus a meal. Then...the classic exchange "I would like some soy sauce for my rice"..."We do not have any soy sauce".."How can you run a Chinese restaurant without soy sauce"?..."We were out since yesterday". EVERY time I go to this location, my order is wrong. Today, I didn't receive anything with which to eat my food. I ordered supergreens and receive a piece of super cabbage core. Lo mein rather than rice, no soy sauce...the food was cold...it goes on and on. The only thing they got right was the drink but had to drink it with a paper straw, but it wasn't long enough to reach the bottom of the medium cup. I will NEVER go here again. read more

This was a horrible experience from the get go. We went through the drive thru and waited for about 10 minutes before we got to the order speaker. Once we got there we had to wait another few minutes before even ordering. We placed the order for 3 Rangoon's and a bowl with orange chicken for $16.17. Once we finally arrived at the window it was about 5 more minutes before the cashier even greeted us. I paid and then waited for about 10 minutes before she came back with our food. We got the food and went because we were tired of sitting in the car and wanted to get home. Once we arrived home I realized, there was no fork or napkins, and 3 orders of Rangoon's. They come in 3 packs unbeknownst to us, hence the $16 bill. Overall it was horrible. Dude, it's been more than a year and things still haven't changed at this location.. Yet, here I am coming back hoping it will. Their vegetables might as well be served raw because they are never steamed, just slightly warmed and extremely crunchy. And the service.... Slow is a ridiculous understatement. We go to the panda express for Chinese food and they are out of white steamed rice because they were closing in about 45 minutes and wasn't going to make more. Now the service is good and the atmosphere is too but more than half the entrees are just nasty. And I'm a person who can deal with some low quality but Panda Express just doesnt stand a chance. Its like spending $10 on a bunch of Taco Bell when you could just get it at an authenic mexican spot. The Friday Night Rush at Panda Express We happened to be in Madison, Tn Friday night and collectively got the urge for some Chinese Food. Remembering we had passed a Panda Express earlier, we headed there. As we entered the door, we saw a LONG line of people waiting to be served and the air was charged with ENERGY . . . sounds of clanking pans and utensils from the open kitchen . . . There was a LEADER right in the thick of it all who was masterfully orchestrating a stellar performance of the 4 cooks, 3 line servers, and solitary Cashier. This gelled team was REALLY delivering a LOT of food in a VERY short period of time. Every customer in line was mesmerized by the show. Each time a serving dish neared empty, a full one would emerge from the chefs without missing a beat. Without breaking stride, this Leader and his 4 front people were interacting with each and every customer attentively and making each one feel IMPORTANT. I could tell that many of these customers were "Regulars" as talk of kids and family ensued whilst the kitchen masters assembled the various meals. Even with all of the cacophony and excitements when it came time for us to place our order, we felt unrushed and HEARD as we decided our choices. The food tasted great, and the show continued as we ate. Eventually, the line of customers ended and the staff immediately shifted into recovery mode - Restocking and cleaning . . . and then as if on some subliminal cue began high-fiving each other and congratulating each other for a job well done . . . The Leader joined the celebration . . . Smiles all around. As we were gathering our things to leave, we noticed the Leader standing outside the front door catching some fresh air . . . He opened the front door, and 25+ people filed through the door for the next wave of the Friday Night Rush at Panda Express. I remember Panda Express from when the opened at my college around 2004-2005. If you aren't familiar with the concept (welcome back from under that rock), this is an attempt at fast food style Chinese food. They got their start mostly in mall food courts and stuff, so expect generic steam tray food. The food is consistent over franchises. Their version of General Tso's chicken (renamed for cuteness, obviously) is a little sour for my taste, but their teriyaki chicken is decent. I'd only give a flawless Panda Express 3/5 stars, because honestly, what town doesn't have a better Chinese food place? This location only gets 2/5 because my food wasn't particularly warm and because when they first located here it was impossible to tell when they'd actually opened, because they had a Grand Opening sign but weren't open, then when they were open, the drive through didn't open right away. read more

Good for a quick meal. Food is being made consistently so the food on the bar is fresh. You can see them cook it which I like. There are some buffets around, but this place is cafeteria style. The staff is very nice with a good sense of humor and seem to enjoy their job. I really wish they had more veggie options. I had the noodles and mixed vegetables.
