I was honestly shocked to see so many bad reviews for this location because our experience was great. When we walked in, the tables were actively being cleaned, the staff was straightforward but friendly, and the food all looked really fresh. The orange chicken looked heavenly. A few entrees weren't ready yet, and I wanted the mushroom chicken, but they were super attentive and packed everything up as soon as it came out. By the time out we got our food, it was still really hot and fresh. The bathroom was clean, utensils and straws were fully stocked, and overall everything just seemed organized and taken care of. I really didn't have any complaints. My biggest complaint honestly is that Panda Express doesn't give out free samples anymore, which feels like a crime. read more

Just got Panda to go and it was great! I ordered online, the website was super easy to use, and when I showed up five minutes early my food was already ready, which was so nice. Service was quick and polite, especially considering how busy it gets during lunch. It's a classic chain restaurant, but they have a good variety of protein options. I got the orange chicken and beef and broccoli with half white rice and half chow mein. I always love their orange chicken, and the beef was very tender. The broccoli was a little undercooked today, but that's not usually the case. Overall, it's always a solid, quick meal when you're short on time, and super filling. This is honestly the worst location I have ever been to. I came in here with my friend for lunch and the line was not that bad, for start-offs. When coming up to the line, they had said there would be a wait for fried rice and chow mein. We were okay with that, but then we noticed more and more people walking in. They took the last guys order and placed to the side, so I thought they would mark our order too so we would be in queue. Nope. Instead, they took everyone else's order that started to come in and didn't even acknowledge us when they were the ones who suggested us to wait for them. We were literally sitting right in front of them too. Even though we waited, we got back in line because we saw that both fried rice and chow mein was ready, but guess what? Now there was no orange chicken. We waited even longer but they also were dumb to put the food in the trays, considering it was getting colder while the chicken was being cooked. In the end, my food was all cold and only thing "hot and ready" was my orange chicken. Rice was not even seasoned, tasted very cold and nothing like fried rice would be like, the chow mein tasted so bad. On top of that, it was so underserved of the amount. Ordered online and was confirmed my order was ready through the app. Once I arrived they did say they had my order, then a female came up and said they didn't have white rice so they asked if I would like any other side, another female came up and said the rice would be 15 min which I was fine with but the female who was serving me reiterated her statement into 40 min. I knew the timing was wrong, they even offered for me to cancel my order, I declined the offer for chow mein or fried rice since I know that white rice is a side they basically cannot mess up. Worse experience for delivery... 1st time I ordered online and we got a lot of food... The teriyaki chicken was burnt; I just gave it to my dogs. Everything else fine... They made me another plate, but said it would take 12 min. It actually took 35 min because they were understaffed; there was people everywhere looking displeased. Meanwhile the other server was gone; the young woman said let me get me shift lead which the person would not come out. After a long boring day i go to panda! Three different entrees were ordered and I must say all of the food came out hot and great! the orange chicken was perfect nice and fresh not too spicy. The rice was crispy and fresh and there was a great rice to veggie portion. The black pepper chicken was nicely prepared not to much pepper. The meals were great and I would recommend this joint to anyone in the mood for Chinese food! Oh And the staff was great. Friendly fast and filled with laughter and smiles. This is probably the worst experience I've had here. Staff seemed openly annoyed with all of the customers, made odd conversation that was unnecessary entirely, my friend caught numerous staff members making mean faces at us and whispering... just all over an uncomfortable experience. I understand we came a half an hour before closing but I don't think feeling like a nuisance and being made to feel strange in any restaurant is ok. The woman working Gabe me the choice between the last little left over bits of chow mein or waiting a few minutes for the new batch to finish which I was very grateful for. The restaurant was clean and service was definitely prompt. The only reason I rated 4 stars instead of 5 is because the parking situation is a nightmare. I spent more time trying to get out of the parking lot than I did actually getting and paying for my food, including waiting begins the very large line ahead of me on the restaurant. I placed an order of two bowls and two kids meals for curbside pick up. They had it tightly packed and I had a ride home so I did not go through it, which was a mistake on my part since they forgot to give me one of my LARGE bowls. I called repeatedly and got no answer for a whole day. I went back the next day and basically had to argue with the "shift lead" to obtain what they owed me. From the orange chicken to walnut shrimp, I have been a fan of Panda Express since I moved to Arizona. For the record, I have not been to a Panda Express out of Arizona so I am not an expert. When I lived in Pasadena, California, Panda Express was not in my area so I never tried it in California. Yet in Arizona, I have been to five different locations of Panda Express in the past year. I live near Avondale so I eat at this location the most. I rate this location a four out of five stars. The food at the McDowell location had been very consistently good. From my order, the fried rice with egg was warm and tasteful. The fried rice has 520 calories. The orange chicken wasn't very orange but It had a great fresh taste. The orange chicken was 320 calories. The walnut shrimp was delicious and had never failed me in the past. The walnut shrimp has 150 calories. Every time I go to Panda, I order orange chicken and walnut shrimp. The walnut shrimp is glazed with sweet honey. Although I did not order broccoli and beef, the broccoli and beef deserves an honorable mention. The broccoli and beef is also very good with 150 calories. If you are interested in any other foods in the menu, you can visit the panda express website (https://www.pandaexpress.com/menu/entrees). The price of my meal was $10.93 for one entree and for a medium drink. Normally, I would only buy one side of entree but today, I was very hungry. I added Walnut shrimp. In general, panda is a bit pricey for fast food because they make the food fresh but I think that the price is worth it. The taxes for my meal was 88 cents. The prices for 1 plate are mostly all the same. Unless you order special foods, you will spend relatively the same amount of money for every panda express visit. When I walked into Panda Express during lunch time, I was quickly serviced by an employee. In the time, I walked in and out, ten minutes had passed. I expected a 10-minute wait to order but there were no customers in line. The lady working was very humble because I was very unsure with what wanted from the menu at the time. The other customers eating were politely quiet. Usually the McDowell location is very busy but I did not have a problem when I visited today. Once I figured out what I wanted to order, I ordered and payed. The parking was easy. There was plenty of spaces to park because most of the people were in the drive thru. If you are planning on using the drive thru be careful, I have seen many cars in line. After I left the parking lot, I noticed they did not mess up my order at all. I am so disappointed every time I go to this particular panda express in Avondale. They constantly have nothing prepared and if you order anything that's not prepared it always takes 10 minutes. What happened to express? Last time I was there was a year ago and I stopped going there because of the fact they run out of their dishes. I come back today and it's the same situation.
