There is also a new green enchilada.
    Eric W.

Quite possibly the last new, to us, Mexican restaurant to try in Granbury. And what a surprise that we, inadvertently, saved the best for last. Thuy does not normally pick Mexican as a lunch, or dinner, option, but as we heading down Weatherford Hwy (51), and Thuy was hungry... And here we are (were) for lunch. Wow, so glad we did. I had a new item, not even on the menu, a green enchilada. It was served with beans and rice. The green came from tomatillos, so it was a bit sour. It was also super tasty. Thuy had the chile relleno, also with beans and rice. It was battered and deep fried, which is not our fav way for a relleno. We prefer grilled, but that's rare to find. We will ask next time. While Thuy did not eat most of the coating, the relleno was none the less very tasty. Oh, chips and salsa was served. Light and crispy, with a tasty red salsa. It was a bit, for me, on the mild side. I asked if they had something a bit spicier, and they do. This bowl was a warm green salsa that had more kick. Perfect! Before we left I asked about BYOB, and the answer was yes. But also, after 5pm, there are complimentary margaritas. We were too early for this option, but one thing that we are sure, there will be a next time. So Panchito's is cute, and the servers super nice. All of the above combined for a very nice dining experience. Bottom line: Our new favorite place for Mexican, in Granbury!

Beef chili rellano plate. Great guacamole!

With such good reviews, we had to stop. Chips and hot sauce were good, mild enough that Glenda got to have some. The chicken on Glenda's quesadillas was pretty dry, but the cheese, sour cream, and guacamole made it good enough that she enjoyed them. My beef chili rellano, on the other hand, was great. There was a lot of beef and cheese inside. The ranchera sauce had just the right kick. I don't like mexican rice, but the beans were really good with the chips and hot sauce. They were "social distancing" the tables, and you had to mask up till at your table. Good place, good food!

    Country Breakfast Platter

Wife had the Country Breakfast Platter and it was FIVE STARS. I had the Sausage Chilaquiles. I give it 1-2 STARS. The warm corn tortillas with butter were a nice surprise. Iced Tea was fresh brewed and excellent as well as the coffee. Service was above FIVE STARS. Restaurant was very clean. The wait staff was very attentive and prompt with refills and responding to requests: Only the Sausage Chilaquiles keeps this review from being 5 Stars. Will return and sample other dishes soon.

    Quaint place...

I caught them at brunch time. It was recommended by a local. Pleasant drive on the farm roads to get here. Old, but clean, nicely kept spot. Staff was friendly and fast. Food was wonderfully cooked and tasted great.

    Sampler!

    Ask the Community - Panchito's

Are they still serving free margarita in the evening?

Sometimes if you order appetizer like nachos they will come by and get free margaritas. That's how I got mine. They were very nice about it. But we also had a table of six. I doubt if just one person get a free margarita when seating!!

From the start, breakfast was solid all the way around. Seating was quick (we seated ourselves), and our waitress came over almost immediately to take drink orders. When she returned, we were ready to order--which is always a minor victory when dining with my youngest grandsons. One of them eats like a champ; the other... not so much. On this visit, hash browns were the sole winner for him. As for me, I went big. I ordered the spinach and mushroom omelet topped with hollandaise sauce, and it was absolutely delicious. The breakfast also came with two large pancakes. The only minor downside was that the pancakes arrived just slightly warm--not hot. I understand they're likely made ahead and held under a heat lamp while the rest of the table's orders are finished, so it wasn't a dealbreaker, and I still enjoyed them. Overall, Cari's is a great spot for breakfast, and hopefully I won't wait another eight years before my next visit!

Even with a party of 8 we didn't wait more than 10 min. 1 Star Service: As stated, we were sat quickly. We did ask for the ceiling fan above us to be turned off and one of the waiters quipped, "It's not there for y'all, it's for the servers who are sweating." That really put me off to begin the meal, BUT that being said, our waiter was nothing but nice and cordial the whole time. 1 Star Food: The food was fantastic. The portions are HUGE! With the 8 of us, we ordered a variety of dishes including pancake, waffles, an omelette, etc.... My wife and I ordered the 1866, which costs (you guessed it, $18.66) and came with enough food to feed 4 people very comfortably. A giant biscuit with gravy. Two large pancakes, a Belgian waffle, 2 eggs of your choice, 2 big slices of toast (your choice of bread, but I highly recommend the sourdough), hashbrowns, and your choice of sausage patties or bacon. Every single item was delicious. Would definitely go back if ever in Granbury again. 2 Stars Overall: Great breakfast spot in Granbury. It being Sunday of Labor Day weekend meant everyone was in town, and it definitely slowed things down. There wasn't a single open table inside or outside. I wasn't sitting down for service, just grabbing things for the road, but I ordered a muffin and an iced Cinnamon Twist. I think I regret ordering the size as big as I did (their grande was like 24 oz iced) because it was quite milky (my fault), but the cinnamon and vanilla were good. The muffin was the true star of the show. It was huge, dense, and fluffy. A much-needed carb and sugar rush after my humid Granbury run. The place is super cute, and I will totally try to go back for brunch next time I visit. The place can feel a little tight when you're trying to order to-go without getting in the way of the staff, other people ordering, and the people dining in, but the place was practically at capacity when I got there. I also saw the Yelp sticker on their door, and I was like, OMG I YELP. RIYL: A bistro pulled straight out of a Hallmark Original Movie.

The experience starts with the hostesses who seem to think they are working in a Michelin starred establishment. Then the disappointment moves into the dining experience. Poorly cut steaks, and items you'd find in a Cotton Patch cafe. All at a price point that screams "we are in a hotel in Granbury who thinks it is the Beverly Hilton, just minus the money, service, and accoutrements." The difference being that the restaurants in Beverly Hills actually live up to the expectations, and even they aren't so full of themselves. About a month…read moreago, my parents went on a road trip through parts of Texas they'd not yet explored in their 60 or so years. One stop in Granbury for my dad to look at an old car for sale led my mom to The Pan Handle to shop while he fantasized about purchasing the vehicle. I think by the time my mom left The Pan Handle, she was fantasizing about moving to Granbury. She called me immediately after shopping there to tell me what a great experience she'd had and returned home with a gift for me - a cutting board by the same brand of one I got her last year that she'd broken. While shopping, she told the story of the cutting board's demise to Sara in the store and Sara kindly offered to contact her rep for the brand. He knew nothing about the specific design (a map of the U.K.) but said he'd try to find it in warehouses across the U.S. He did and almost exactly a month later, that cutting board arrived at my mom's door, packaged securely by the Pan Handle with a note signed by Sara. Even I, at 29 years old, know customer service like this is hard to come by and that's why I'm giving 5-stars. Sara knew my mom wasn't from the area and quite possibly might never return to the store, but she did everything she could to make sure my mom had a pleasant experience. Because of this, I think The Pan Handle might have to be a stop on any trips we take "up north" in the future.
