Small space that was packed to capacity on a Sunday at 1130 but flows amazingly......we only waited afew minutes for a seat and once we sat down everything we needed someone was right there. The menú is your basic simple diner menú with everything you should expect. The star of the show is to no surprise the pancakes. Me and my friend had no desire to eat pancakes as we were looking for real food. I consider pancakes to be more of a dessert than a meal. When I communicated this to our waitress, she was nice enough to bring us over a small sample of their cinnamon bun pancakes just because she said I had to taste them...... and if I wasn't gonna go back to try the pancakes before I definitely will now!!!!! We stopped here for lunch and it did not disappoint! Awesome diner vibes, service was quick, and the food was great! We got the royal french toast- sooo good, the sweet cream cheese dollap was perfect addition. We also had the loaded breakfast sandwich- who wouldn't love avocado and waffle fries added to a BEC? My friend got the French dip which he said was better than most he's had- thin sliced, seasoned well, with a great au jus. Also they had flavored coffees - not like syrup added but actual flavored grounds- I had the pumpkin which was good and they came around many times offering refills. I ordered the vegan blueberry pancakes (which they served with a generous serving of vegan butter) and they were AMAZING!! Fluffy, flavorful, and tastes just like non-vegan pancakes!! There was no weird difference in texture so I really love this place! The service was pretty quick, especially since the restaurant was packed for breakfast when I arrived. It has a diner-esque vibe with counter seating facing the kitchen. I think this is a great breakfast spot and really affordable compared to most breakfast/brunch places. Absolutely love Pancakes Plus. Small establishment with maybe 20 tables and is open for breakfast and lunch only. Good breakfast selections (omelets, pancakes, French toast, etc. The home fries are excellent) The food is delicious and I've never had a bad meal there. The outside is deceiving as it is an all brick building which houses a bakery and an auto repair shop. The inside is bright, clean and the wait staff always greets you with a smile and is accommodating. It's a bit on the smaller side and gets packed so be ready for a wait or go early. The pancakes were absolutely delightful, and the home-fries were excellent, to my surprise they have sweet potato home fries something I've never tried anywhere. Always in search of good Vegan/Vegetarian/Plant Based restaurants as I travel. I had hoped this quaint diner in Rockland would be that little gem which would become a go-to spot for me and my family. Called ahead to advise that we were coming 90 minutes before closing from 5 minutes away, and we were told to feel free to join them. Arrived and felt rushed as soon as we came in. Ordered tea to start and received Luke warm water. Our server did not take much time to welcome us as new patrons. After order was placed our order arrived in record time, and plopped on the table- at best I would say it was 1.5/5. Restaurant closing time was 3pm, and we were feeling rushed not having even taken our first bite. At 2:45 as soon as food arrived they dropped the check off stating don't rush, but we close at 3pm. After paying a brunch bill over $100.00 with the gratuity included- we were approached at 3:10pm by an unprofessional woman who may have been the owner or manager handing us bags advising in a rude manner that they were closed. I have never experienced this level of inconsideration for patrons, and the overall experience is why we are giving them a 1 out of 5 star rating. Our first and last visit. read more

Everything was fine until we were ready to pay our check and we noticed a roach crawling across our table. Disgustingly gross. All the owner said is "we have an exterminator in here weekly" and said he was sorry. They have lost a long time customer as we will not go back. I then ordered a chicken fajita omelette with whole wheat toast and home fries. Let me tell you, my food was GREAT! The chicken I can tell was very well seasoned and it didn't taste like some frozen chicken just thrown in some egg. I then put some of the salsa and then some hot sauce and it was delicious! I ate all of it. If it's one thing I will suggest, try to go for the chicken fajita omelette because it will fill you up. The service here was good. No complaints. Do not ever judge a book by its cover not only applies to books but also to Pancakes Plus. Honestly I was a little lost and hungry when I stumbled upon what looked like a hole in the wall eatery. It shares its parking lot with other businesses that kinda look rather industrial. But as I said, I was hungry so I threw fate to the wind and walked through the front door. I've patronized almost a dozen establishments and can say that Pancakes Plus has been the best breakfast choice in my opinion. I will say that my last order was somewhat lacking; the eggs and pastrami rated a three out of five. The pastrami was kind of bland for this former BrooKlynite's taste and the home fries and toast was cooked on the grill a little too long.
