The Sprong valley ihop is a great location because of how spacious and clean it is! Food is consistent with other IHOP's Food: I ordered the spinach and mushroom omelet and that is the way to go! It was so filling and delicious! Filled with cheese and veggies and comes with hollandaise sauce! You can also get pancakes or toast or hash browns. I got the blue berry pancakes and it was so good! We also ordered a side of crispy potatoes and those were well seasoned and hot! The strawberry banana pancakes are the signature pancakes and they are very good! We visited during Veterans Day. I want to get the free breakfast offered for Vets. This restaurant seats about 150. It's not as cramped as other IHOPs in the NYC area. They were very busy. The hostess greeted us as soon as we entered the restaurant. We were seated immediately. Our server is Omari. He was very friendly and attentive throughout our meal. I haven't been to IHOP in a while. I like the one in Spring Valley because it's spacious and there's tons of parking because it's in a shopping center. Over the weekend, we tried going to the IHOPs in Englewood and Teaneck, NJ because they're closer to home, but those restaurants are small and tents have taken over half of their tiny parking lots. And they were jammed. Despite the COVID changes (no coffee pots, no syrup or condiments on the tables), we had a great lunch. The food was fresh and delicious. And of course, the pancakes were light and fluffy. The service was also excellent. It was sad to hear the other day they will be closing 200 IHOPs in the tri-state area. I hope there will still a few remaining close by for us to enjoy. They are not only part of Americana, they are a good value and family friendly. read more

Breakfast Anytime Although it was way past morning when we stopped in, I was ready for some breakfast. IHOP delivered. I had their Breakfast Sampler, a dish with a couple of eggs, a couple of strips of bacon, a couple of sausages, a couple of slices of ham, some hash browns, and 3 pancakes. I'm sold whenever I can get pancakes along with my other usual breakfast items. I also found the hash browns particularly good. They offer 4 different types of syrups, they are the pancake place. The food was very good and there was plenty. Service was cheerful but a little slow. I think there was only one server this late at night and we were not the only table. It took a few minutes to greet and seat us when we arrived and the food took a bit over 15 minutes from ordering until it was brought to the table. It was still a good visit, the place large and inviting, music playing in the background. This IHOP is located in the Spring Valley Market Place, part of a long stretch of storefronts. Not sure If I had a previous post but I haven't been back at this Spring Valley location since last winter. Skimmed through some of the reviews and read some complaints about this place. My husband and I are probably just lucky because we have been here when we were the only customers upon our arrival, been here when only a few tables were occupied and been here when we had to wait to be seated longer than usual because there were really a lot of customers. Never did we experience a change in service... staff was always friendly and attentive, food served warm in a timely manner, etc. I even mentioned to my husband that the wait staff at this branch can very well be the same wait staff one would encounter at a high end fine dining restaurant. Stopped in on my way to NYC and the place is decent in size with good outdoor lighting coming in from the large store front windows. When we arrived they were not busy at all though it seemed to take several minutes for the hostess to decide on where to sit us making us wait for no valid reason. Went to IHOP for free pancake day and was not allowed to have free pancakes unless making a mandatory donation. According to friends who went to different stores and a relative who is a supervisor in another store, the pancakes are free and donation is completely optional. I asked the hostess at the podium about that and she said they only allow the "free" pancakes after a donation is made. My only issue is they need to update their furniture in the waiting room the seats are ripped up with black ducktape covering and even some booths where you are dining have ducktape covering rips. Went to Spring Valley on businesses and stopped by IHOP for lunch. It's a bit out of the way, since it requires a couple turns off route 59 and buried pretty far into a shopping center. Place was fairly empty for a weekday lunch but the hostess and waiter were very nice and helpful when dealing with the variety of menu choices. Our food came out quickly (pretty rare for IHOP) and tasted like the same greasy, guilt-inducing goodness I remembered IHOP to be.
