I wanted to become a regular customer but one of the bakers was plain rude and yelled at me which is shame because the front staff is nice.

Really delicious and fresh pan dulce. Lots of other Mexican products available. Excellent prices. Just bought 6 conchas for $4.50.

Additionally, the cocktail options are nicely priced: sangria from $8, cervezas from $5 and mixed drinks from $12. The menu offers traditional Mexican fare; my favorite is the cheese enchiladas with a verde sauce which myself and friend Sally ordered. It is a very filling entree: three enchiladas, yellow rice, salad, beans in a verde sauce. The verde sauce has a nice kick to it. My friend Cathryn ordered chicken enchiladas. They also serve great tortas and my friend Virginia ordered the Chicken torta; hearty sandwich with Chicken Milanese. As an appetizer, we ordered the always fresh and delicious guacamole and Totopos. The cocktails were flowing: $5 Coronas with lime, Rainbow Margaritas, Sangria and a Rye Smash. The music selections are always great and had us bopping as we dined. Service is always on point and professional. There is a backyard for Al fresco dining. Coszcal de Allende has been an outstanding Mexican restaurant I have dined at for @20 years. No snickering. This is largely because of the sweet customer service. A three star review for more…read morelike two star quality. It is not saying much for a city that really lacks in Mexican cuisine. To say I did not give this restaurant a fair shake is like saying I only went to an ice cream shop and only ordered the cone. I went all out there, which is maybe why I received the service I received, or maybe it is because I sat next to what appeared to be my server's children. Whatever the case, I was treated well here. Onto the food. The Sopa Azteca (their tortilla soup) is a nice change from what I had at a previous Mexican restaurant. I would like the portion to be bigger and more meat in it, but I like the Mexican spices and the variety here. It is quite enjoyable. The Queso Fundido should be called a Queso No Divertido. It was awful to eat, with lousy flavor and texture. This is the second time I have struck out with this appetizer. It is safe to say I am done ordering it in this city. Nobody does it right. The Paella is nice, but at its core has the essence of a nice dish. Some parts are full of tremendous flavor, and some parts are dry and bland. I ate this all out of necessity, and also because once I mixed the bland with the good it actually turned into something quite pleasant. The chicken enchiladas I ordered because it would not be fair to come here and pass up something Tex-Mex as an entree. The chicken is inconsistent, well cooked in some spots, dry in others. The salsa verde has a lot of kick here, but the side salad and charro beans nearly ruin the whole thing. At least the Mexican rice is fluffy and has great flavor. Speaking Spanish to the staff helped curry points in the service department. I like family owned businesses. Everybody was busy and on point. So what if the food does not wow, I have given more, for less. Hence why this is a three star review and not a two star review.

However I usually forget that they also had food because there are so many options for Mexican food around here. This time around I decided to stop and try their food out. We started with the queso which was ok nothing special. For my main I ordered the mole enchiladas and I actually like it. My boyfriend order the steak but they were out of stock so he settle for the pernil. He claims to be a pernil connoisseur and wasn't happy with his pernil here. I had two margaritas one regular and one with mezcal and left feeling a little tipsy. I think this is just a place for drinks and snacks but the food was just ok for me.

They had a backyard area which I was surprised about but they made it look good. I ordered a French Bull dog and from the ingredients it looked like the only difference was instead of beer there was a small bottle of Hennessy, sounds awesome right. In my head and too so other places I've been to when you ask for a bulldog you get a nice big margarita glass with the bottle usually beer inside. Nope here they gave me a tiny glass with the cognac inside, no way you're calling that a bulldog and charging almost 20 for it. It was good but not justifiable at that size. I had this one drink and left. 3 stars maybe I'll try them again soon

Highly highly recommend Tacos Por Favor for delish Mexican food!…read more We came here last night (Tues) for dinner around 7:30pm and had a great time! The restaurant was hopping! The place was packed when we arrived and there were a lot of customers coming in the entire time we were there. There was a constant flow of food delivery guys coming to pick up food orders, too. It was really great to see a local business doing so well in our community. The entire staff (special shout out to Felipe and Alison) was super friendly and the food was really delicious. We ordered A LOT of tacos, so it was nice they offered special deals for larger orders. We also ordered iced horchatas. We waited a little bit for our order because of the large amounts of take out, online and in person orders, the entire staff was working as hard as they possibly could. They were always pleasant to each customer (we sat by the register so we noticed the interactions). The staff kept us well informed, so we weren't bothered by it. We were enjoying the 80s music in the background and having good conversation when Alison came over with guacamole and chips on the house. She was very apologetic for the delay, but we told her no worries. It was such a thoughtful gesture for them and shows they care about their customers. The guacamole and chips were fantastic. My daughter who doesn't usually eat tomatoes loved the tomatoes in the dips and couldn't stop raving about them! We will order this the next time we are there. When our order arrived, we enjoyed every taco we ordered (adobada, mechada, sliced beef, carnitas, al pastor etc); they were all tasty, very fresh, piping hot with just the perfect amount of toppings. Portions were generous and we chowed down the tacos and ate up every last morsel of food! Their iced horchata drink was also delicious with a nice creamy texture, the perfect amount of cinnamon and just the right amount of sweet. We had a bit of food coma lol because the meal was so good and we were very stuffed, so we stayed a bit after we ate. Alison brought over two flans for the table to share as a thank you for the wait and our patronage. The flan was delicious, too! Despite being so busy with orders coming through, the staff kept customers informed of the wait, made sure all the tables were cleaned for the next customer. We will definitely be back to try other items on their menu, but HIGHLY RECOMMEND to anyone looking for Mexican food! Enjoy!
