Bolillo had a strange taste, definitely not fresh, didn't even have a good appearance. Charges the same as the Vallarta but is about half the size and even worse quality. Their pan dulce is decent but again, not fresh. read more

Additionally, the people working there are rude and act, like you are wasting their time or inconveniencing them by being there. I missed the flaky tortilla of Cotixan's in San Diego, until now. This was amazing. A little back door area with tacos, burritos and tamales- stocked full of all your classic taco toppings. So ridiculously good I kind of teared up in happiness. Hubby ate the chorizo, pastor (the real kind with pineapples) and I had a veggie burrito with aguacate. First I'd like to say I used to come here on Wednesday's for the tacos about a year ago and it was decent food. I went in today at my lunch time two other male customers were making indecent comments about my body the woman employee there just watched them say things and smiled. Been bring co workers, friends, and family here for the better part of two years now. Best tacos in town for sure! Even my Mexican friends who KNOW good Mexican food are always skeptical when they arrive the first time but always leave very impressed with the quality, flavor, and authenticity of Pan De Vida's Mexican food. That has to tell you something! Besides all of that, they're always nice and quick with service. The menu is pretty reasonably priced as well. The chicken and carne asada are my favorites. Their chicken is truly unique in flavor and the carne asada doesn't have the fatty pieces that some other restaurants in town have. Also, their red sauce is considerably hotter than most other Mexican restaurants in town which is of extra appeal to me. All in all, 5 stars! Highly recommend. :) read more

Very delicious. .I am from LA and have been dying to find real authentic mexican food in the AV..that is the one thing I miss most of LA ..walking down the street for some BOMB tacos n burritos on the corner. Honestly, this is by far the worst taco shop I have been to. Ordered a quesadilla de carnitas and they are very stingy with the meat. The tacos had no flavor whatsoever. Their chips are super salty. Usually love this place for the salsa but have quite the increasingly bad experience each time I go. Other than the constant raising of prices every month, they aren't very gracious with portions. The worst experience I had was when the hobos that are always hanging out back came in inhaling cans of compressed air at the table. Employees did nothing of it and waited for police. THE best taco shop in the AV. Carne Asada has NO fatty chunks in it at Pan De Vida. Whatever marinade they use is perfect. Their refried beans are literally THE best I've ever had. Therefore the burritos are phenomenal. And.. they know how to do flower tortillas. I like when they're slightly crisped up on that grill. Salas's are GREAT. Not average. Really good. They marry up to the tacos and burritos perfectly . The red is hot and also savory. The green is very flavorful.. seems to have a perfect harmony of green chilis . Lime wedges are always fresh and a great augmentation to tacos burritos and more . Onions and cilantro are only available at salsa bar. Totally cool by me. REAL Horchata.
