My husband and I save a 5 star review for something spectacular. So a 4 is pretty darn good. The food was great. We started with the hummus plate. It was very garlic heavy, but we enjoyed that. For main course, I had the shrimp scampi. The shrimp was large and not overly tough at all. It had a wonderful light reading on it. My husband had the strip steak. It was cooked deliciously with a nice seat on both sides. The issue we had was the service. We showed up even after the dinner rush, around 8 or 8:30 pm. Yet the response to our table was slow. When the waiter came over, we hadn't decided on a drink but we ordered the hummus, with no cheese on top (it comes with feta and my husband is allergic to cheese). And we waited for what seemed like a long time for a cold appetizer plate and not a dinner rush. Anyways, the hummus came out to the table and it was sprinkled all over with feta cheese. So we sent it back. The food runner was nice about it. We waited for a new plate, and then when that came back, our waiter finally came to take a drink order. We ordered our drinks and food at the same time, capitalizing on the presence at the table. Good news is after that, we were pleased. The food made up for the slow service and we left happy and full. We had a groupon, and we always determine if we'd be back without a groupon to pay full price. While the food is t cheap, it's not terribly expensive and we decided the food was great enough we'd be back! read more

I thought I was going to a nice restaurant for a fine dining experience. I was sooooo wrong. The waiter who also seemed to be the bartender would be better suited in a sports bar, he was loud and abrupt. He kept interrupting me after he would ask me a question and then he just walked away in the middle of me talking to him. I had the pork chop which was blah and the mashed potatoes tasted like they were made with water rather than cream or milk. Got there early on a Sunday night and walked right in. The staff was friendly and the service was exceptionally good. With that said, the food is overpriced and mediocre at best. Considering the price of the lobster ravioli you would expect it to be made fresh at the restaurant and not brought in frozen from another venue. The seafood pasta was probably one of the worst that I have ever had, 4 shrimp, 4 mussels and white fish (tilapia) in a sauce over linguini. The olive bread served with dinner was very good. We arrived for a late Tuesday dinner and the place was deserted! Our order included the eggplant anatolia, Caesar salad, capellini, and the lobster ravioli. Our waiter was a bit gruff, no-nonsense, he seemed more like a manager than a waiter. The appetizers came out quickly and while we were still eating them, the waiter appeared with our entrees - a bit of an Olive Garden way to serve food, not what I like from a nicer restaurant, though. The eggplant appetizer was very flavorful and its sauce was so good we asked for more bread for which to sop it up. The salad was basic. The capellini was very much like a puttanesca, lots of great flavors! The lobster ravioli was terrific! We passed on dessert, we were so full. We'll be back! read more

I definitely just found my go-to happy hour spot!!!! My sister and I were undecided about where to grab drinks. After thinking for awhile, we realized that we ALWAYS drive by Pan D'olive and see their happy hour sign. I've been telling myself for a long time I should check it out....and today I finally pulled the trigger! The have an INCREDIBLE happy hour. They have $2.50 domestic beers, $3 and $5 glasses of wine, and $5 martinis. I had the Chardonnay and the Cabernet for $6 (total!). The Chardonnay was pretty good (definitely worth the $3), but I enjoyed the Cabernet more. In addition to ridiculously cheap drinks, they have several appetizers to choose from. We started with the phyllo cigars stuffed with herbed feta, the grilled lamb kofte, and the arancini. All three were incredible!!! My sister fell in love with the phyllo cigars (imagine a flaky and melt-in-your-mouth mozzarella stick...but way better!). I really enjoyed the arancini (which I believe were similar to fried rice and meatballs--yummy!). After one round of appetizers, we again went with another round of the arancini and the phyllo cigars. We also got an order of calamari. I really enjoyed the dipping sauce for the calamari (and thought the portion was good, too). I would have loved to try the dessert tasting at the end, but my tummy ran out of room! In terms of the service, I thought it was incredible! Our server was super friendly and I probably never waited more than two minutes for her when I wanted to order another item. In terms of price, we ordered 3 glasses of wine ($3 each), two orders of arancini, two orders of phyllo cigars, one order of calamari, and one order of lamb kofte for a grand total of $35 with tax. Such a great deal! My sister and I are already dying to go back! I'd say the only downside is that although their patio space is nice, it faces Mccausland, which can make for a lot of noise. We went out to dinner with two other couples and had a great dinner! We had a reservation and was seated after a few minutes. Each of us got a cocktail and salads. I got the wedge salad and the dressing was amazing. My friend got the house salad-a greek salad and she enjoyed it. For dinner we all got entrees and they were hot, tasty and very good. I would order them again. I got the veal and it was very good. My husband got the chicken parmigiana and it was very good too. We didn't eat the pasta but substituted it for green beans and asparagus. We enjoyed our meals. I used a Groupon and we would go back without one. It was that good. read more

I've been here twice in the past two weeks and both times the experiences were great. The first time was a dinner party for a friend. We had a big group of people and all had dinner downstairs. The service was EXCELLENT. Sometimes with big parties it is hard to get good service but I had no complaints what so ever. Appetizers were served to the whole table and they were delicious. We had the risotto balls and the spinach/cheese stick things and I can't remember the third. I had the wedge salad and also the filet. Both were delicious. I came back a second time for their happy hour and was pleased as well. The appetizers were cheap and so were the drinks and that's a great combo! My review is solely based on thier Happy Hour, so if you're looking for a lunch/dinner/full dining experience, move on to the next review. I live close by and come here more often than I should, but not as much as often I should... Sounds a little confusing, but when I say "$3 WINE" it should all make sense?!?! Can't beat it! They have a great menu of Happy Hour specials filled with drinks and food! Lots of wine & cocktail specials for under $5, which is a great deal, espcially that $3 wine! The food I've had has only been off of the Happy Hour menu, but it has been delicious! Flatbreads are pretty good, on par with other Happy Hour flatbreads, nothing spectacular though. Pita & Hummus is my go-to... always good & refreshing, never a disappointment! The fish tacos are pretty good. The shell is almost deep-fried, not my cup of tea, so I just eat the fish and toppings with a fork, but oh my they are delicious! Patio area is small, but great when you get a seat! Service is so-so, but when you're there for Happy Hour, you shouldn't expect the best service. Overall, it is definitely something for everyone to try out... We had a wonderful dinner here tonight. Started with arancini which was excellent kind of a risotto and Gorgonzola cheese stuffed meatball. Then Shepherd salad which was the highlight of the night. It was an amazing salad. Next was Pan D'Olive Flatbread which was awesome. We will go back just for these 3 items, but there was so much more to choose. We also had Chicken Madeira and Walnut encrusted trout. While the entrees were good, it was the appetizers and salad that stole the show. The service was excellent. The waiter was very helpful. Nice atmosphere and nice people, BUT the food was amazingly flavorless. We had the shepherd salad (tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, feta). It really needed some help. It had nothing going on. To make it worse, the bowl it is served in is a disaster waiting to happen. It tilts over wildly and will soon elicit a class action lawsuit. The flatbread was terrible. I know flatbreads always stink but this somehow had no flavor whatsoever. The mussels were decent. The lamb kofte was decent but the sauce was horrendous. Went for lunch-not a crowded service-in the middle of the week. Ordered the veal piccata and was told they were out, went for the pan d'olio flatbread pizza instead. Pizza was pretty flavorless, surprising since it had olives and Gorgonzola which are both strongly flavored. Olive bread and olive oil were yummy, as was the hazelnut tiramisu. Service was a bit scattered - ordered an ice tea and had to ask server for sweetener a couple of times. All in all not great but not terrible. read more

This is a very nice, calm, elegant, comfortable restaurant. The menu is not extensive and I'm not sure it needs to be. I had the pork chop and my wife had the filet mignon. Hers was awesome, mine was very tasty. First bite of the pork I thought it might be a little dry but that was pretty much due to cutting from the end of the piece; it was moist and flavorful. The wait staff is very professional, not cloying at all. We were there after happy hour which a lot of the reviews tend to rave about. A lot of the negative reviews tend to be during other hours, but all I can say is our experience was top notch. I wouldn't call this a foodie restaurant with adventurous ingredients and dishes. It is more of a comfort food with a mediterranean twist kind of place. The olive bread was mild and excellent. Oh, and I saw a lot of people recommend the "phyllo cigars" and I'll have to pile on and definitely recommend those as appetizers. My family and I enjoyed a nice dinner at Pan D'olive. It was our first visit and we will be back. The food was very good and so was the service. The portions are not large - more than enough for me but my husband could have used a bit more of the delicious chicken breast. One person in our party had the chicken tortellini and it was wonderful. My daughter and I split a wedge salad and I was impressed by the fact that the kitchen staff split it for us so that each of us had a tasty portion nicely presented. I hosted a book club meeting at Pan D'olive. The service was excellent. We were given appropriate time between courses. Our drinks were kept full. They food was great. They asked us how we wanted the bill split without giving us the death stare that some places give. First time there on a Monday evening, 6pm. Parking lot was packed and I think I got the last spot. I went in the side door and was able to easily get a table, without a reservation, at this hour. I was there for a business meeting and not aware that my acquaintance had arrived early and was in the bar. When she tried to move into the restaurant to be with me, she was not allowed to bring the appetizers she ordered and was told that her drink price would increase if she went into the dining room. The bar is pretty loud. (They do a booming business for happy hour.) We needed quiet to talk so it worked out well that we moved. Due to the odd treatment at the bar, we kept our ordering light. I'm guessing there is a story behind this where people bring happy hour into the restaurant though it is not unusual to have a drink at the bar and then move into the restaurant. We both had worked in hospitality and found it an odd quirk. Staff is friendly and water glasses remained full. Based on the crowd, check it out for happy hour but stay in the bar! read more
