I am a fanatic about spoiling my little chihuahua, Oliver Kitty. That's why I will only go to Pampered Pets to get him groomed. The staff is professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. Oh, and the fact that little Oliver LOVES to go there to get a bath and have his nails clipped should tell you something! I'm so appreciative of Theresa, who is so caring and loving towards all of the pets; nobody could ever doubt how much passion she puts into her work. If I could give them less than one star, I would. I have taken our two dogs, one mini golden doodle, and one a mini Bernie Aussie doodle to them. The time before this our Bernie Ozzy doodle was nicked by his private parts. I informed them about this, so that it would not happen again on their most recent visit. I also went over the length that we wanted them and they had samples to review and approve. They were to call me if there was any issues achieving this. We were horrified when we picked them up and they were shaved, and both of them were nicked and bleeding. We were asked to bring them in at 10 and they weren't ready till five... Seven hours with no water or potty breaks. We are not sure whether they sterilize their shearers, but are glad that our dogs or not infected. read more

Do not take your dogs here! The ladies that work there are very nice but they just have way too many dogs to deal with. Once the dogs are done bathing they put the dog in the kennel with a fan pointing at them. Unbelievably sad!! When you go in there the dogs are all crying and shaking with anxiety. My dogs were freaking out when they went inside because they felt the energy of the other dogs. The place is dirty. I am sad to say I will not go back there because I like the ladies but I think that place needs a revamp! . At least call them ahead of time and go when there is like one dog there? read more

They raised prices quite a bit since the last time we have been, which is noted on the door as you walk in so not really the reason for the low rating. It just didn't feel safe for my dogs, they put them in wire kennels right next to stranger dogs. Just an accident waiting to happen in my opinion. The two dogs I brought are easy going so luckily they didn't mind going in a smallish kennel together next to two stranger dogs next to them but not every dog is going to be okay with that. Had I brought my third who isn't as nice she would have definitely had a melt down. You leave them there from the time of your appointment until they can get to them which can be close to closing. I appreciate the hard work done seemingly by one person. But I think there could be a safer way to get it done. read more

This review truly deserves zero stars. I brought my 13yr old Scottish Terrier to get groomed. When I dropped her off I let the owner know that she had a lot of "old lady" bumps along her back and face area and to be aware of them when grooming. When I picked up my dog she was completely shaved. She did not even look like my dog. They had shaved her entire body!!! Her entire head is shaved, she has no Scottie beard, eye brows or fluffy ears. Her tail is completely shaved. I asked the owner what happened when she checked me out. She said "Oh I don't know, I didn't groom her." She then pulled my ticket to double check that I had asked for a Scottish terrier cut, which I had. She then told me she didn't know what happened. Maybe she was matted when I brought her in. I told her that she was not matted that I had brushed her this week. She then told me she would call the lady who had groomed her and ask what happened. She was very nonchalant about the entire thing. Being that it is winter, and the average temps around Spokane are low 40s-Mid 30's I now have put her in a sweater 24/7. The customer service was great, and the lady we worked with was very kind and welcoming. Unfortunately our dog was given the worst haircut he has ever received. I'm not picky when it comes to cuts with our dog, but the quality was very poor. We asked that he be shaved all over with a little fuzzier on the chest and legs. His body, legs and part of his chest got shaved, but his entire underside was left (what appears to be) uncut. I actually can't stop laughing at him. Also, he had clipper burn on his backside and one of his paws. He is very uncomfortable and we're having to constantly make sure he isn't going at himself. read more

For over 20 years! Today my credit card was declined for unknown reasons. I was on the phone with my bookkeeper trying to find out why n fix it. The now owner NOT THE SAME DEBBIE refused to release my sons dog to his caregiver as he's terminal n bedridden. I am appalled! I took my five month old Yorkshire Terrier in yesterday to get a bath and his face cleaned up, I got him back he had been poked in the eye. I didn't notice til I got home. My boyfriend called to let know what happened after we took him to the vet($100 later). The young lady that answered the phone told him that he most likely had hair in it and had done this himself. We have taken our dogs here 3-4 times without incident and have received average to good cuts for our doodle. Our last visit was our last. They use choke collars to tie up the dogs when they run out of crates. My dog has never been in a choke collar. I watched as the handler tied him up and turned away - at which point he went to run for me - and was choked. Choke collars are horrible when used properly - and this is not proper use. Our pup also came home with razor burns and a bloody tail. We didn't notice until we were home and they never said a word about it! read more

My dog's haircut turned out very nice, and my requests were well listened to. I lower my rating to 3 stars due to the lack of receptionist. I found it irritating that if the groomers were busy (which obviously they are/should be most of the time) only a message can be left in order to make an appointment. It seems like this is common with dog groomers, but I find I always end up with a game of phone tag. Also, only after I paid and was at home did I realize I was uncertain specifically what was done. I just assumed a bath etc was completed as well as the trim, but I didn't specify this. Although I didn't ask this information was not posted, nor offered up to me at all. I will still be returning, those were just a few small turn offs for me. edit: since writing this i always now reach someone to take my call. all staff are all so so nice here, and they do a fantastic job! read more

I have never taken our dog here but I always take our cats. They do a great job with brushing and bath. Clip nails and cut a potty path and it's always super busy and they don't chit chat much but it's a volume salon and people need to understand they are doing a lot of pets and they don't have a designated person to ring you up and give you service. I'm ok with that. My cats love going there. read more

WONDERFUL! Our 2 y/o Shih Tsu has been refused by 3 previous groomers as "too mouthy and needs drugs." Arlo hates the Vet and hates anything around his face. He's a challenge...loving & sweet...but a challenge. The groomers at Pampered Pets were unable to complete his groom on the first visit and asked for a quick return to try again. SUCCESS! They were patient, understanding, and assured me I did NOT have the worst dog in the world. Suggested we come often to get him used to the facility and staff. I wish I would have read these reviews before I took my dog there today. It would have saved me a painful experience. First off, I was surprised they didn't even ask if he had ever had shots and didn't ask for shot records. They took my dog and put him in a crate and just left him, they said to come back in 2 hours. No attempt to get to know him, make him feel secure...nothing! It was his first visit to the groomer so I said I wanted to stay and observe his behavior and the groomers, and boy was I glad I did. One little dog was on the grooming stand and the gal was so rough he was loosing his balanced with every stroke of the shaver. He looked miserable! I told the owner I didn't want the gal that was so rough touching my dog and the owner got very defensive and said that was her daughter!. I said I didn't care she's still being rough with the animals and she looks like she hates her job and the animals. I took my dog and left! I went five blocks down the road to PETCO and what a difference! The employees came out and got to know my dog, helped him to feel safe and secure and the grooming ended up being a good experience. Each groomer had care of one dog and it was obvious all of the groomers were well trained and loved the dogs. AND PETCO was $20.00 cheaper! Save your money and give your dog a good experience, stay away from this place! read more

AWFUL!! My dog received this knick in her eye immediately after getting groomed at Pamered Pets. Took her to the vet and they said she received this injury (corneal abrasion) on both of her eyes. Clearly worse on her right eye. The owner said come in the next day and we will pay for the vet bill. They then changed their mind and said it was not done at their shop. Sickening people. read more

I just had the worst the experience! I had an appointment to take my dog in at 1pm...was told to call 15 minutes prior to see how their schedule was looking. I called and the lady was so extremely rude to me. Suggested I book another appointment, even though I had booked a week prior. I explained that I still wanted to bring my pet in but just wanted to know if 1pm was still the scheduled time. Explained that my dog is on anxiety medicine just for this grooming appt. She suggested I find a new groomer and hung up on me!!! Hung up on me! What kind of business does that? I tried to call back to maybe speak with the owner or perhaps another person working there and they continue to hang up on my call. By far, the worst experience. The sad part is, I've taken my dog there the past two years and then I'm treated this way. Such a shame. Please do not take your pet there and be sure to read all the other reviews. I took my dog here and was really disappointed. The gal working there told me what they normally do for grooming so when I dropped off my dog I specifically asked they don't trim my dog. I made sure to have a conversation about this so I was very upset when I picked up my dog and they had trimmed her hair. I told them I didn't want them to do that and the gal working just said "oh we always trim". No apology. No discount. I am upset that they ignored what I specifically asked them not to do and then didn't even get an apology for it. I will not be taking my dog there again! read more

Don't take your dogs here for grooming. I would leave a big fat FAIL and request they be closed down if possible. We took our 2 pups to be groomed. Not only were the cuts terrible, but the trim around the face and ears was uneven as though no one looked at the pooches when they were done. Also, when we got home we noticed that one of them, the totally docile, easy going dog that would never attempt to move while being handled, was nicked/cut in 3 different places .. to the point of scabs and blood. NOT OK. No one there said a word to us about this. These guys are not just bad at what they do, they don't care about our pets. It's one thing to be less talented; its another to be sloppy and careless with these pups .. to the point of negligence .. when these pups have no ability to take care of themselves. IF I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS, I WOULD! My Golden Retriever who is a rescue dog and I have had an extremely bad experience at Pampered Pets on 57th and Regal. I recently took her in for a shampoo, cut and nail trim. She arrived happy and healthy, as usual; however when we picked her up she would not come out of the kennel and she was frightened, shaking and scared, I've never seen her do this with me or around others before. Immediately after we brought her home, she began choking, gagging and retching all night. In addition, her eyes were blood red when we pulled the lids back. We then took her to the vet the next day for treatment and although the vet couldn't outright say the injuries were from a too tight choke collar (as they were not present), it was certainly insinuated that the immediate injuries were physical signs of potential animal cruelty. I just know something terrible happened to her there because of the behavior I saw before and after she went there. On July 18, 2016, my daughter and I went back to the grooming parlor hoping for some sort of resolution. We waited for the owner, Ms. Debbie Klassen to show up and we could tell she was quickly irritated that we were even there. Unfortunately, I wasn't even given the opportunity to show her the vet bill. She insisted that Lexi was just stressed out and they were at no fault. When I disagreed, she went ballistic on us, shouting and yelling "get out of my business" repeatedly threatening to call 911. She slammed her little half gate so hard, while screaming at us, I thought it would break. Neither of us could believe how she treated us, as we were not disrespectful, loud or threatening. At that point, we went outside and called 911 as we felt threatened while in her establishment. Within seconds of stepping outside, she immediately locked her doors and pulled the blinds. Never, have I seen a business owner behave in such an unprofessional manner. I have also discovered that their facebook profile has been shut down as well as their Pampered Pets of Spokane domain name under an assumed domain name of www.allpetsgroomingspokane.com Aside from all of this, there were obvious signs of potential environmental animal cruelty as the floor was unsanitary and littered with massive dog/cat hair, the air smelled of feces, the floors and walls were dirty and the kennels/cages used to house the animals were not adequate based on the size of the animal. At this juncture, Ms. Klassen's establishment will be reported to the Washington Humane Society's Humane Law Enforcement Department for suspicions of cruelty, abuse and neglect, as well as Spokane's animal control agency and Spokane's taxpayer-funded animal shelter. Ms. Klassen is not a member of the BBB; however, there is one negative report listed on her behalf, so I will be alerting them, too. S.D. read more

The worst people to follow directions i have ever dealt with. Simple things such as one length trim not shave, don't make any poodle accents (he is a mix), keep it long, could not be followed. No warnings were given to the random shavings, poodle accents happened, shaved (to the skin) nose with 3 inch poofs on the sides of his nose (not the same length obviously) and they couldn't care less. I got an "uhh sorry" in response. Avoid them unless you like bad surprises to those that you love. read more

i just visited pampered pets for a nail trim for my 2 pit bulls. the employee did a fantastic job even though my dogs are terrified of nail trims. we were done in about 5 min and the price of $8.00/dog was the best price i have found anywhere. i will be taking rhem there for nail trims and baths from now on. read more
