The portion sizes here are genuinely some of the most generous I have come across. I ordered the falafel, mixed chicken and beef shawarma, lamb gyro and their new arrival kibbeh, paired with a traditional yogurt drink and soda. The falafel was crispy on the outside and perfectly seasoned inside. Classic and done right at $14.99. The mixed chicken and beef shawarma at $18.99 was tender, well-spiced and so generously portioned it could easily feed two people. The lamb gyro at $13.49 was rich, aromatic and beautifully seasoned, one of the highlights of the whole meal. The kibbeh at $3.99 is their newest addition. A traditional Middle Eastern dish made with spiced ground meat and bulgur. The traditional yogurt drink paired perfectly with the bold flavours of the shawarma. Refreshing and authentic. Everything came out in massive portions at great value. The food is fresh, flavourful and satisfying from start to finish. Came here because it's close to my work and it's pretty good! I would give it a 3.5 but rounded up for them. I got the chicken shawarma plate and the serving is huge! I definitely could have taken half home and still be full. The plate comes with chicken shawarma on rice with a pita/saj, and Tzatziki sauce, salad, and hummus. The chicken and rice were flavourful! But the chicken was too dry for my soft mouth. Hummus had a little too much olive oil for my taste (at first bite it tasted like I was eating actual olives, which I don't like) but was overall creamy. I didn't like the salad or Tzatziki sauce but that's just my flavour profile! The salad itself was really fresh and vibrant and Tzatziki sauce is probably as normal. Service is much like a food court. Self-serve, self-seat, no water provided. It's a small restaurant with around six tables. read more

After I ordered my chicken shawarma plate, the counter guy was just walking around inside of counter. Other lady was preparing my Baba ganoush in the kitchen area. It took 5 mins finally he STARTED to prepare my meal. So strange. Food was good. The rice, pilaf had good broth flavour. But not like dull rice, it's simple pilaf. Hamus was very very creamy. The food is great. We had the lamb gyro and a kiddie Bowl. The lamb was super juicy and tender. It was accompanied by a fresh salad, hummus and a yoghurt dip along with rice. Everything was well seasoned and tasted amazing. The kiddie bowl enough for an adult too but was a bit dry to eat on its own. Overall the food is worth the money. The kafta kabob and their falafel are pretty good. The rice and the hummus were just okay. I sometimes make my order online and they get my instructions correctly. Sometimes I have to wait a bit more when picking up my order but they're generally prompt and the pick-up process is not confusing (it always helps to be vocal though, like letting them know you're picking up an order upon arriving at the store). read more

This place is clean and the staff is friendly. I noticed the two woman working washed their hands a lot so that made me happy. I tried the kofta kebab it came with hummus, pita , two kebabs, salad, rice and a delicious garlic yoghurt sauce. ( Usually im not a big lamb fan but, these kebabs tasted really good and not gamy. ) We had to wait about ten minutes for our food but, that's ok you could tell it was super fresh. I hate that I have to rate Palmyra so low....as it has been one of my favorite places for years. I recently moved back to Surrey after being away for over a year, and it was not long before craved Palmyra's chicken plate. The service was great as always but I noticed new faces at the counter when I went for pick up. Because the menu and store interior seemed the same as before, I didn't think much of it..... I went home, opened our take-out and realized that the new faces might have been of new owners. The meat portions were significantly smaller, their garlic sauce tasted completely different, the hot sauce is not what it used to be....and the bread!!!! Ahh....they used to have these amazing handmade bread that was just so good. And now it was the regular pita bread. Don't get me wrong, the new owners are nice and the food isn't bad...but not as good as it used to be. I am not sure if I'll be going back any time soon..... read more

Tasty tasty savoury treats in Guildford I was in my old neighbourhood recently, and after I went into the Macs store that served as my haunting grounds in my youth, playing Street Fighter 2, Golden Axe, Ninja Gaiden, Shinobi.... I noticed the scuba diving equipment store next door was gone, and in its place this place, Palmyra. Had to check it out. Ordered the chicken shawarma plate. I have to say, it was so tasty. So delicious. The chicken, moist and flavorful. The rice, spiced just so. The hummus, on point. The fatoush salad, delish. But the topper for me, was the saj bread they make from scratch in house! I may live far from here now, but any chance I can get, I'll be coming back. Great work!! read more

I decided to stop by here because of all the reviews. Also, there was an Entertainment Coupon for this restaurant so I figured it was an even better reason to go try this place. We ordered a chicken kebob and mixed kebob dish plus two fruit drinks. I presented the coupon prior to ordering and the lady behind the counter told me that she will take $10 off instead of the advertised $11 off. I agreed and did not want to argue over $1. It was good she did somewhat honour the coupon rather than refuse it. The meat was grilled to order and wonderfully seasoned. The humus was fresh. The salad was a nice medley of fresh veggies. The saj bread accompanied the humus very well. The rice was seasoned differently and tasted similar to the seasoning of the chicken meat. I have never tried this flavour of rice before. I have tried many restaurants that served basmati rice with saffron alongside the meat kebabs so this was unique and tasted a bit more healthier. I had to take half a star off because of the lady not fully honouring the coupon. Food overall was really tasty and I enjoyed it very much. read more

Stopped in for a weekday lunch. Wasn't too busy. Ordered a falafel wrap. I was asked if I wanted pita or pardon my ignorance as I had not heard of this before, some other type of ethnic homemade bread and it was delicious. I had to wait about 10 minutes but the falafel ball were large and fried to crisp perfection while I waited. No nuked falafels here! Bread was topped with falafels, lettuce tomato onion hummus, tahini and red pickled cabbage. I would have like to have been offered some hot sauce and garlic sauce but I will just ask next time. It was wrapped well and heated for a short time in foil. It was delicious, although I'd like the falafels not so crushed up next time - again I'll ask! Wow, that was extremely disappointing... The rice was horribly seasoned. Never been to a Mediterranean restaurant that seasons their rice so poorly and in so much quantity Store bought hummus just topped with olive oil. Greek salad with green onions? Who's idea was that. This place has the best Mediterranean food I have ever tried. Specially the way they season their rice omg it's sooo good. We love everything here - kids bowl, chicken wrap and the platters. Food made with love and care. Palmyra is a great little family run place operated by Adnan, his wife Ilham, their son and daughter. The Saj flatbread is house made under Ilhams careful supervision and is the best that I've had (I have tried it in a lot of places here and in Europe). The falafel is perfectly crisp and still soft on the inside, the salads are fresh and crisp and the meat is always moist and flavourful. Really fresh and delicious flavours, everything on my chicken Schwarma plate was done right. Chicken was juicy and flavorful, rice was cooked perfectly, and salad was super fresh. You can tell that they make everything fresh, it doesn't taste or look like it's been sitting in the warmer since yesterday, and I didn't see them use a microwave microwave (unlike many other Schwarma places in Surrey). Literally slipped my way inside. Their floors are TERRIBLE when it's raining. Be careful. You order at the front and then get your food when it's ready which sucks because when you're lazy and comfortable in your seat, be prepared to go grab your food. I went here on the recommendation of someone else as we love Mediterranean and Lebanese food. The staff were kind and polite but as I was waiting to order I noticed that the walls , doors, windows, and kitchen were covered in a grease and oil with hand marks and clearly the place had not been cleaned in some time. Pre Covid, I might have toughed it out but there is no room for this level of dirty ness. We were sad as we had driven 45 minutes to eat here.
