Sadly tonight I had the most bizarre and customer unfriendly exchange with someone who I assume was the manager. I ordered my bowl and got a few substitutions so it would be a vegan bowl. I asked if I could sub avocado for goat cheese (which I have done at their Del Mar location no problem). They said yes but it would cost .60 extra - I agreed and they finished making the bowl, tossed in the dressing and packed it up. Then when I go to pay, they charged me $2.50 for the avocado saying I couldn't substitute it for the goat cheese despite the fact that the server told me I could do the substitution for .60 additional. Instead of being gracious and acknowledging their error, the manager said I could have the bowl remade without avocado. She literally was going to throw away a $16 bowl of food over a mistake her staff person made. I saw the line had gotten pretty long at this point so I decided to just leave without the food. I do not understand why on earth managers think it is good business to nickel and dime customers to this level- especially when their staff is the one who made the mistake. Had they graciously just rung up the bowl and charged me the extra .60 I would have been a happy customer who would have come back many times. Instead I'm now on yelp complaining and will never go back and already complained to three people about this tonight because it ruined my dinner. Maybe the berkeley management team needs the Del Mar team to come and train them better. I'll be back to the Del Mar location soon- the berkeley one- not so much.

It was so fluffy, thick, and pillowy soft, and was not overly charred/thin or too crispy like other naan. Just pure doughy goodness. There was also a perfect amount of cheese filling--enough that you got the subtle kick of milky acidity, but not too overpowering. The naan itself was also not too greasy, and the garlic flavor was very aromatic. You could also taste a hint of the slight tartness from (I'm assuming) the yogurt used to make the naan. The "C" Chicken Momos came with eight large pieces, which is definitely enough to fill you up. The sauce tasted like a classic sweet-and-sour sauce with a very mild and pleasant spice. Also, because the dumplings were fried, they were crispy despite being covered in sauce, but still had a bit of the nice chew you would get from a steamed momo skin. The fillings themselves were also super flavorful: you get a herbal and fresh taste from the ginger, which balanced the tanginess of the sauce so the meal did not feel too heavy, and the subtle nuttiness and pepperiness of cumin in each bite. The dumplings also had some warm broth in them, which is perfect for a cold day. The prices are fair too. You can often find small discounts on Snackpass or delivery apps like GrubHub.
