I used Tom at Palm Springs pool service to look at a situation we were having with the water feature on our pool not working correctly. We have used the company that built our pool for years for service and cleaning. They wanted to dig up about 30 feet of our yard to try to find a check valve that they thought was faulty. Before doing that, I thought I would get another opinion. I posted my situation on Nextdoor and a neighbor responded to try Tom. Sure glad I did - he fixed the problem in about 20 minutes for not a whole lot of money. I have another issue my pool company can't figure out so I'm calling Tom now. read more

Poor customer service and faulty equipment The Company replaced a polaris motor for my pool in mid/late January through my home insurance company. 2 months later there is a steady drip in the motor. When I called Tom the Owner, he wants to charge me more for them to fix the faulty equipment they provided me. When I spoke with him he told me that I only paid $60 for a new motor (which was my deductible) and tried to make it seem like that he doesn't get paid anything more for it so what should I expect. He was unwilling to come and look and repair the faulty equipment he provided us. There is no way a 2 month old motor should have an issue like that and he refused to take any responsability for the faulty equipment. He was tring to get me to go back through the insurance which I'm sure so he could get paid by them again too. Very disappointing. I will never use them for anything again and definitely not recommend their service. read more

I needed to replace my pool Heater with Raypak. I found this company on Raypak webpage as certified installer. I contacted them on Wed 8/11. Tom said, he will be busy in next 2 weeks. he will call me on Thursday 19th or Friday 20th to schedule it for following week. Thursday came, he did not call. On Friday morning, I called them nothing! on Friday afternoon, I called him, nothing. Since my phone area code is different. I called him with my wife phone on Sat, he picked up. He yelled at me, why are you calling me. I told you, when I have time, I will call you (Which is not true!). I told him, I am a customer, I have work as well. I have to clear my schedule.. He keep yelling at me. I said, we are done!. Don't fall for Tom southern accent and yes Sir thing. He is extremely unprofessional. Screaming at customer who wants to pay them is against any business rule. I will give my business to someone else and assure you that I sent a letter to Raypak about him and his company. The behavior is very unprofessional. Specially for a company which supposed to enter people house. He could easily tell me on first day, I won't have time for next 6 weeks (as all other companies done). No harm, I would either wait or go to someone else. These bait and switch behavior is not right! read more

I have had a terrible experience with Palm Springs Pool. They were contracted by my home warranty to come look at our pool heater that was not working. I got a call from Tom on May 9th (4 days after they were originally asked to make the appointment). He asked some questions and said he could come out the first part of the next week. He was going to call to let me know when as soon as they knew their schedule. I never heard from them. The following Thursday (5/16), Benny left a message that he was going to come out that day, but that he must have missed me. I tried calling him back a number of times within minutes of the message and could get no one to answer. Despite leaving messages, no one ever called me back from Palm Springs Pool. I called the warranty company to let them know that I had not been able to set up an appointment. A week later (5/24), I get a call from Tom wanting to know if I want to cancel the request. I told him no and explained that I was having trouble getting anyone to respond or to come out and would like to set up an appointment. He said it would have to be the next week, but could not give me a day or a time. He said his company did not give appointment times. I asked to speak to the owner and Tom indicated that he was the owner and that it was company policy to not set appointment times. I intend to find another company to look at the problem. read more

This has been some of the very BEST customer service I have ever experienced! I moved to Dallas and my house had a pool. Upon my initial call Tom came to my house within a few days to teach me how to run my pool, check the water, etc. he patiently took the time to go above and beyond showing me all the workings of my pool. Helped me upgrade some things to help my pool/spa run better and ALSO showed me how to work everything. He personally delivered pool supplies, helped remove stains from the plaster, and supervised the installation of my new spa heater. As long as I live in Dallas Tom and Palm Springs Pool will be the ONLY company I deal with!!! read more

For more than seven years I have enthusiastically recommended Palm Springs Pool Service to my clients. Tom is a highly educated professional with remarkable knowledge of pools and the care they require. I once called him from a client's house with a pool problem and without photos or ever seeing the equipment he told me how to find one of the controls and solved the problem right then and there. He does not rush my clients through the inspection process and spends as much time as they need to understand their system and how to care for their pool. When it comes to repairs he will price out the items and let you know what is truly needed and what is a recommended code update. He can also recommend others professionals in the field for work outside his expertise. I also had a terrible experience with Palm Springs Pool. Our home warrenty company contacted them about replacing our pool pump on a Friday afternoon. We did not get a return call until after hours on Monday. We had to leave a message since it was after hours. For the next three days we played phone tag until we got them on the phone and demanded they arrive on Thursday morning. It was almost 100 degrees every day, and we had a stagnant pool since the previous Friday. When they finally arrived on Thursday morning, he went out to the pool equipment, tripped the circuit breaker, and then came back to say he needed additional parts and asked for the service fee. When we asked when we could expect him back to start the repair, he said he didn't know and is was based on when the scheduler had availability. We told him that wasn't acceptable and we needed a return time to pay him. He said that we were required to pay him the moment he stepped onsite, and we responded that we didn't feel comfortable doing that without knowing when he would return. He then told us that he "didn't want to do the job anyway" so he wasn't coming back. We then had to go back to our pool company to make the repair, because we couldn't wait for another appointment with our homeowner's insurance or the pool company. read more
