This restaurant has a strange set up where when you enter, pick up a menu at a little table inside the door, find a seat and they bring you water and cutlery. THEN you walk up to the front counter and order...but then you don't pay until they check on you at the end of the meal, or if you go back up to the counter. I'm guessing it's due to the limited staff, but we're never waiting after sitting down and they're attentive to drink refills, etc. Strange as it is, the food and service is fabulous. My husband orders Butter Chicken every time we visit. Creamy sauce, not too heavy on the spices. The chicken is tender and plentiful. White rice is cooked perfectly. The lunch portion of the Butter Chicken includes naan and a side as well. We get vegetable korma each time as a side and it is sinfully delicious. I make way too loud yummy noises when I eat it. I order the lunch portion of Tamarind Chicken with the side of vegetable korma (mmmmmmmmmm) and then we usually purchase another side of the korma to eat at home. The Tamarind Chicken was wonderful too, it's served with lemon rice, if I remember correctly Next time I'm just going to order the Vegetable Korma plate, with a side of Vegetable Korma. The wait staff is friendly and the the owner has come out on occasion to check on us and say hello. Whenever we're in Spring, this is always a stop. Check it out! read more

Wow, I am so impressed with this spot; it's definitely a gem. My friend & I was around the Tomball area & was craving some Indian food & this location popped up. I'll say this, I wish Palette was closer to my house because I will be a frequent customer. The food & service was top notch. Here's what we've ordered. * Mango lassi- Very good, great amount of yogurt to add some tartness to it. While it was rich, creamy & fresh, it was a little on the sweeter side. Maybe a little too sweet. 4/5 * Vegetable samosa- fresh, hot & a great amount of filling. I enjoyed the green sauce; red sauce not so much. 4.5/5 * Onion Kulcha- this was definitely homemade, it was freshly baked, fluffy, & stretchy. It kind of looks like garlic naan because it's usually garnished with chopped cilantros but there were onions inside, so I'm certain it's Onion Kulcha. Either way it still tasted fantastic. 4.7/5 * Almond chicken- cooked very nicely with a good amount of spice. 4/5 * Goan coconut shrimp curry- probably one of my favorite dishes I've ever tasted. I can taste the curry spices & coriander coconut. It was full of flavor although a bit too spicy for a mild. I asked for mild because I wasn't in the mood for spicy however I didn't mind. 5/5 I didn't get the person name who brought us the Onion Kulcha, I think he was the owner. He was very polite, welcoming, asked us if it was our first time & came by to make sure we were enjoying our meal. Overall it was an awesome experience from the service to the food, will I come back? Never being big on Indian food, the food was amazing. They offer a buffet for lunch which gives you a little bit of everything especially if you don't know what to order. The staff was very attentive and patient when going over the menu and answering any questions we had. It is a small restaurant but does offer a couple of tables and chairs outside as well as a big room for the bigger parties. It is definitely a place that we will return to. read more

First time trying Indian food, and all the yummy, delicious smells hit us as soon as we walked into the restaurant! Everything we ordered was really good, ESPECIALLY the Chicken Popsicles! The owner, Calvin, who is the nicest dude, told us it was his own recipe. It's amazing! We liked the pizza, but would've preferred it on roti or naan; personally, the crust is a little thick. My Hubby loved his Goat Rogan Gosht, and my Chicken Biriyani & spicy aloo had just the right amount of spice. The service was completely awesome! We tried the buffet so we could taste a lot of different things and see what the place does well, etc. Everything we tried was done well. The chicken curry was awesome. First of all compliments to chef who made my tikka masala today. I got the lamb tikka masala and when I tell you it melts in your mouth. I haven't had lamb taste this good or be this tender since I moved to Houston 3 years ago. AMAZING I will definitely be back to try more menu items. 10/10 HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! What a great find in the Spring area! Came here for dinner with my mom on a Sunday evening. We are so happy to have found a good Indian restaurant to go to in North Houston. The food was flavorful and came in good sized portions. -Butter Chicken: Plenty of sauce and protein. The sauce was very rich and delicious. The chicken is sooo tender and moist! -Lamb Vindaloo: I liked this dish, but butter chicken was my favorite. It had a nice kick. -Naan Bread: It came out hot and fresh! My girlfriend who lives in Spring raved about this place a few times, so when we did a poolside date on her side of town, we ordered delivery from her favorite spot: Palette Indian Kitchen. Comfort food on a Sunday, why not? Besides, spicy Indian food pairs perfectly with a nice cold cider. The menu offered everything we needed: vegan options, vegetarian options, and low carb options. One gal pal got the chicken tikka plate with a salad (low carb); another gal pal ordered the chicken tikka malasa; I ordered the saag paneer; and we all shared veggie samosas, naan, and roti. Everything was devoured. Portions were sizable for a dinner; it was served hot, fresh, no mess, and no-mess ups! I am glad that I ordered the naan because it didn't come with the any of the dinner plates - but rice did. If you like spice, request some extra condiments to kick it up a notch. Have come here several times as this is a favorite spot of my parents. Came on Saturday night for dinner and really enjoyed the food. We ordered two orders of each to share - the garlic nan, chicken Tikka, veggie korma, and the gobi Manchurian. Everything was super fresh, piping hot, and delicious. It's hard to find really great Indian food in this area, but they do it well! The only thing I would complain about is the restaurant was so hot at dinner time. It felt like the ac was either broken or not turned on until the very last moment. They open I think at 4:30 and we were there around 5:30 and it was probably around 80 degrees in there. read more

The restaurant does not offer family style to go orders so I ordered many different entrées. I wanted to try something different which is the reason why I ordered the shrimp. Omg!! It was delicious! Please note the names in the pictures might be wrong because I don't remember what I ordered...but I can tell you that the food was amazing! That all that really counts here. The flavor is perfect...the meat is tender... The sides are love...The naan brings it all together! You simply can not go wrong here! The food does not disappoint at all. We wanted to Palette India Kitchen, the only Indian restaurant in our area that we hadn't tried out. It offers a mix of a la carte and buffet food. Most of the food on offer is North Indian but they have some stuff from other parts of India. We got tandoori chicken (very mild and not accurate), saag paneer (not too fresh), dal and rice (ok), tandoori roti (good), and kheema mutter (good). The service was pretty slow. Overall I would rate the place as merely ok. If you want a really good rendition of North Indian food, drive to Aga's in Sugar Land. In the Woodlands, Hyderabad house is the best in the area in our opinion. read more

I love Indian food, and I love Palette indian Kitchen. The other day we received a coupon in the mail for this local Indian eatery. So we waited for the right moment and went over to celebrate my daughter's birthday and her new driver's permit. (I was more keen on the first than the later, lol.) The Palette offers a lunch buffet and since Indian food is such a favorite of mine I chose the buffet, and so did my daughter. The restaurant was beautifully decorated and bright. I could tell that the owners had wonderful taste, style and an understanding of the importance of light. (Too often I am disappointed at how dark a place is. I believe it detracts from the visual cues a well prepared plate presents.) The gentle sounds of conversation and laughter from four other tables, made me feel comfortable as my daughter and I made our way to the buffet that offered a wide selection of dishes. I am not ashamed to say that I had a spoonful of every dish, with the exception of the rice pudding (I've never been a fan lol) but my daughter helped herself to two servings of it. :) The food was spot on. Fresh, Hot, and layers upon layers of flavor. I went back for more and my daughter beat me by going back a third time. The owners were present but didn't introduce themselves until the end of the meal when they asked if everything was to our liking. I complained that I would have liked to have more room in my stomach for more. We laughed and I told them that the food was excellent. When they asked why we selected their establishment my wife explained that we were celebrating my daughter's birthday and 2 minutes later they surprised us with a slice of chocolate cake with well wishes written on the plate in chocolate syrup. Later, as we were driving away my wife reminded me of a conversation I had had with some friends where we had asked for their recommendations were for good authentic Indian food. We searched out notes and sure enough Palette was one of the top three for all of Houston. Oh boy...I can't wait to go back. A solid FIVE STARS. read more
