We got this meal as a carry out order. To eat I got the Lamb Saag wala along with the ras malai and the garlic naan. My husband ordered the chicken vindaloo. Everything was delicious. Normally I would have stuck to something I was more familiar with but the spinach in the photo of the Lamb Saag wala intrigued me. Im glad to say it definitely didn't disappoint. The portions were great and each order came with a side of white rice. The ras malai was also a wildcard order that didn't disappoint. So we were greeted nicely and went directly to menu ordering as we're not big on buffets in any restaurant. First question, "Do you have Mango Lassi to drink?" Yes! We always order that in all Indian restaurants to offset any dish that might be spicier than comfortable. That's Mr. Picky actually as I like a little heat. We asked if they made Naan that was stuffed with both garlic and cheese. This favorite of mine wasn't on the menu but I was told the chef would definitely make that for us. Just received our uber eats order from Kury Walah, which we get at least once a week. This order was awful!! Food was very bland, watery, with absolutely no taste, spice or flavor, very disappointed in tonight's food! Once on the plate it's like it was something that was previously frozen then microwaved, sauce separated and became just a watery mess, it was quite awful! Called and talked to someone, they really didn't care. Told me to call back on Wednesday ‍. Food definitely not up to its usual standard, not too sure why. We've been wanting to try this place for a long time but always opted for some other cuisine. I can't really say a lot about the service or ambiance since we ordered takeout. I CAN say that we both really enjoyed our dishes. My wife had the Chicken Tikka Masala and I got the Chicken Saagwala. The food was great. All of the food was well seasoned, spiced and well balanced . It had a pleasant depth of flavor and it tasted like they really took their time to prepare their dishes. You can choose the level of spicy from mild to hot as Indian food is known to be spicy. I love spicy food and can handle a lot of heat but my wife can't handle it too spicy, so we chose mild to be on the safe side since it was our first time trying it.. It was enough to let you know it was there and didn't sneak up on you with more heat as you continue to eat. It was quite enjoyable. We also got an order of the Garlic Rosemary Naan. We really enjoyed that as well. Their Naan is more of a thinner, crispier type. Definitely different from the more fluffy, softer Naan that you normally would find at other places, but don't let that trip you up. It was still very good, just different. I was really craving Indian food after my massage and I've had this place bookmarked for a while. I figured no time like the present to try something new so in I went. The restaurant is small but bright, plenty of booths and tables to pick from. I was greeted with big smiles from teen age waitstaff and they quickly told me I could sit wherever I'd like. I'm alone, I've had a really rough day, and it's after 7p and this is my first meal of the day. I'm greeted by whom I believe is the owner and he asks if I'm ready to order. I want one of everything and I'm not sure what to pick, so he suggested the sampler platter for 2. There are two available samplers, one vegetarian and one with meat options. I chose the meat although I'm sure the vegan option is just as delicious! I don't remember the name of all of the dishes, I do know everything was delicious though!! Some dishes spicier than others, and they ask what heat level you want when you're ordering. I got the medium heat and it was just right: definitely woke you up but not so hot you couldn't taste the flavor. My eyes were larger than my stomach so I packed the rest to go, and let me tell you it was just as tasty the next day when I ate the leftovers for breakfast! When the check was dropped off I told the owner I was really happy I chose to have dinner for my birthday here. He was so surprised (probably because I was alone and looked a wreck lol) and told me to stay put, that he had something for me. He came back with not only a fruit smoothie, but a kind note that said "Happy Birthday, wishing you many more!!" and a meal on the house. Little did this man know I was having the day from hell and his kind gesture left me speechless. I tipped the kids all the cash I had on me and was ugly crying once I got in the car. Buffet options are on the limited side - there's about 3 kinds of chicken dishes, 6 types of vegetable dishes, one type of rice, papadum, vegetable spring rolls, pakora, and gulab jamun for dessert. Fresh naan is also available on request. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. Wow, this place is fantastic. I am someone who loves spicy dishes and the Lamb Curry did not disappoint. The meat was tender and flavorful, the curry was delicious and it came with rice. I added some Garlic Naan which was excellent as well. The girl that helped me at the register was sweet and helpful. I will absolutely be back to try more of their dishes. The Chicken Tikka Marsal and Goat Rogan Josh were excellent. My mom chose the "mild" spice and we were both glad that she did. The heat was just enough to feel it, but not overpowering. I think medium might've been too much for either one of us. The staff was wonderful, and the training of new waiters which was occurring was subtle and effective. My opinion and based on our dinner experience this evening. Giving this place 5 stars exclusively for service and food taste. Been wanting to visit for a while; heard good things about it from friends and reviews online seem to bear them out. The place is located in a typical Houston area strip center at the intersection of Grant Rd and Malcolmson Rd in Cypress, NW Houston metro. The ambience is utterly minimalistic - too much so, and resembles an ordinary cafe type restaurant. The walls were stark white and tables were undistinguished as well - all pretty ordinary/industrial looking. Quite belies they photos on the website showing the Katy location. The refrigerator containing drinks and the soda dispenser in the dining room were incongruous at best. The website implied a more upscale ambience. The restaurant was not full and seating was freely available - service was prompt and friendly/solicitous. We ordered Gobi Manchurian for appetizer and mango lassi - this after learning that out first preference, Lychee drinks, was unavailable - the big bottle Taj Mahal beer too was disappointingly unavailable. Had the Himalayan Snowman beer instead, which was light and smooth. Ordered Bhindi Masala, Malai Kofta, Cilantro Chicken and Peshawari and Bullet Naans (Chilli Naan). Food arrived promptly, was piping hot and tastefully displayed on white dishes. Napkins thankfully were of cloth and not paper. Everything was clean - service certainly stood out, attentive and friendly. Food was not very spicy (despite asking for it) but well-balanced. Tastes were on the mark - very flavorful. The Bhindi was a bit fibery to taste but overall, the food hit the spot. Prices were on the high side - roughly $13.99 and up for a main dish. Quantities were not huge, but entirely sufficient. We finished everything that was served and we left full. The total cost was $89, including an 18% tip. All in all, glad we visited - the tasty food and excellent service will draw us back soon. read more

We ordered through a delivery service. I got the Chicken Tikka Masala, my husband got the Lamb Curry, and my son got the Lamb Rogan. We also ordered the Chicken Biryani and Garlic, Rosemary, Naan bread. Everything was fantastic! Cooked to perfection, tasty, and a generous portion. I will say the naan bread seemed to be made from scratch and was one of my faves. One tip...be aware of the spice levels. I ordered medium and it had a nice little kick to it. She then proceeded to touch every glass at an adjacent table, and when the wait staff politely offered to help, asking her to please not touch all the glasses, that instead they would get her another...she threw a fit. For some reason, we can't seem to keep a good Indian restaurant up here on the N/NW side of Houston. The one around the corner from me uses dark meat in their Chicken Tikka Masala. Yuck. The one on 1960 converted to a slightly different cuisine, and the food was never good again. They closed. Several off Veterans Memorial, but they're only kabobs/wraps. Meanwhile, Narin's is in the same location for a decade or more and only moved because the one on Sage burned down. Food is consistently excellent, but it's a long drive for lunch. Anyway... enter KurryWalah. I'm so happy. They have lunch buffet. Food is delicious. Location seems a little worn/small, but that didn't affect the food. I had Chicken Tikka Masala, Veg Pakora, Saag Paneer, Malai Kofta. Everything was delish. I did use Uber Eats for lunch on October 25, 2020. It was the first time that I've used Uber for food delivery and also the first time I've used this restaurant. It wasn't entirely clear that rice already comes with the main course so I ordered extra rice - which was a waste of money and food. The jasmin rice was cooked just right. You could define the spice grade during the order process. I can not recommend to spice it up as it takes away the other nice flavors.
