Hummus and naan

Latest adventure- we tried the pani poori appetizer. Pretty good if you like chick peas and potatoes. Apparently this is a very traditional street food/treat in India and it was cool to try it. You put filling into the pastry and pour spiced water over it. When you bite into it, the water gives it a burst of flavor. Neat concept, I just didn't couldn't get past that it was cold. Probably won't order again but it was fun to try. The rest of dinner was the food we have come to love! Butter chicken, lamb kadai, curry chicken and - one of my new faves - biryani. Cheese naan was yummy.

This place the best Restaurant Indian restaurant ‍ Super clean Mango drink Totally agree recommend

Mango Lassi to drink, yes!
Ruth K.

So we were greeted nicely and went directly to menu ordering as we're not big on buffets in any restaurant. First question, "Do you have Mango Lassi to drink?" Yes! We always order that in all Indian restaurants to offset any dish that might be spicier than comfortable. That's Mr. Picky actually as I like a little heat. We asked if they made Naan that was stuffed with both garlic and cheese. This favorite of mine wasn't on the menu but I was told the chef would definitely make that for us. For our lunch we ordered Chicken Tikka Masala for Mr. Picky and the lamb version for me. The restaurant is sort of cute with a modern hand of black, gray and silver, interesting-looking. The food wasn't bad.

Tiki masala

I love me a man that pays for my tiki masala and that's why kurrywalah is hands down the best food I'll ever have. I love you kurrywalah

Visited with my mom and sister last weekend, the food was very delicious and we really enjoyed it! Definitely recommend

Sampler for 2

I was really craving Indian food after my massage and I've had this place bookmarked for a while. I figured no time like the present to try something new so in I went. The restaurant is small but bright, plenty of booths and tables to pick from. I was greeted with big smiles from teen age waitstaff and they quickly told me I could sit wherever I'd like. I'm alone, I've had a really rough day, and it's after 7p and this is my first meal of the day. I'm greeted by whom I believe is the owner and he asks if I'm ready to order. I want one of everything and I'm not sure what to pick, so he suggested the sampler platter for 2. There are two available samplers, one vegetarian and one with meat options. I chose the meat although I'm sure the vegan option is just as delicious! I don't remember the name of all of the dishes, I do know everything was delicious though!! Some dishes spicier than others, and they ask what heat level you want when you're ordering. I got the medium heat and it was just right: definitely woke you up but not so hot you couldn't taste the flavor. My eyes were larger than my stomach so I packed the rest to go, and let me tell you it was just as tasty the next day when I ate the leftovers for breakfast! When the check was dropped off I told the owner I was really happy I chose to have dinner for my birthday here. He was so surprised (probably because I was alone and looked a wreck lol) and told me to stay put, that he had something for me. He came back with not only a fruit smoothie, but a kind note that said "Happy Birthday, wishing you many more!!" and a meal on the house. Little did this man know I was having the day from hell and his kind gesture left me speechless. I tipped the kids all the cash I had on me and was ugly crying once I got in the car. You never know what your kindness can do for someone else! So sir, if you read this, thank you for making a girls birthday meal the highlight of her day!! I will definitely be back, and with others!

As of August 2022, the price for weekday buffet lunch is $15.99. The interior had just been renovated earlier this year, and is very bright, modern and clean. Buffet options are on the limited side - there's about 3 kinds of chicken dishes, 6 types of vegetable dishes, one type of rice, papadum, vegetable spring rolls, pakora, and gulab jamun for dessert. Fresh naan is also available on request. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. They should leave some bowls out for the buffet (we see only plates) - we couldn't really enjoy the gulab jamun to its full potential!

No hard drinks just beers and wine

Is this location open???? We are itching to go back!!!!!!?

Yes, it is open again!

Does anyway know if they plan to reopen after the terrible fire? My husband and I love this place!

I called the Katy location last weekend and asked. They said in about 2 months it would reopen.

The samosas were delicious! My fiancé and I both loved our dishes. I ate most of the naan because he's not a cilantro guy. Honestly cool with that--I loved the naan. The ambiance was cool inside, cozy and I bet families come all the time and make core memories here. 10/10. We both got medium spicy and my nose was running but it was worth it. I got the qeema aloo muttor and my partner got the spinach with chicken curry and we both loved our dishes. Next time I'll try the muttor rice and try another dish.

My husband is from India (Gujarat) so we eat authentic Indian food on a regular basis and we found the food here to be a different flavor than what we're used to, probably because it's more Pakistani than Indian in terms of flavor. Both of the curries we had were more sweet than what we're used to, but they weren't bad. Just didn't satisfy our cravings! My husband ordered the Paani Puri as it's his all-time favorite dish and they prepared it here much differently than what he's used to. He really wasn't a fan. Their Masala Fries (an appetizer), however, were absolutely incredible! I haven't had fries like this before and the crunch fries paired with the assorted sauce combination was so delicious. If you're looking for Indian food and are searching for a specific flavor palette, I might recommend trying elsewhere because your tastebuds might not be fully satisfied here. Otherwise, give this place a try as they have a variety of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options to choose from!

Certainly trendy, but, don't feel put off...its still chill enough to be your spot for lunch. Valerie directs me to just what i needed. Indian inspired dishes. I get the butter masala lamb! So there are multiple choices of Tikka bowls. Valerie recommends the Butter Masala, and I choose Lamb for my Protein. Choose your spice, I choose hot. I'm avoiding rice, so I sub out for veg. (peas, carrots, onions and the like) This is the perfect lunch portion for me with left over sauce I am sad to see go into the bin! Not too heavy to need a nap and perfect enough to not need a dessert! Wow, was Val right! That butter Masala was perfectly spicy, and so buttery and full flavored, I couldn't believe it. Even after all my lamb and veggies were gone, I kept lapping up forkfulls of the curry, just to get another hit of flavor and spice. Soooo, good. So not busy, and it should be. So priced right for the filling lunch. So original and true to its roots. Plus, this place is cool, hip, post industrial and utilitarian in a fully commercially produced way that works on so many levels. I want to feel like I am at the Starbucks of Indian Fare. They carry an assortment of self-serve teas and so many menu items I could not explore alone on lunch. Tomball; the next culinary destination in your adventure? Start here!

We couldn't even bring ourselves to eat the naan because everything was so messy and blended together , not at all appetizing. In all my years of ordering Indian food for takeout, I have never once had a restaurant pack curry and rice together in the same container. Every other place I've ordered from either uses separate containers or a divided tray as standard practice. I emailed the restaurant to flag the issue, and the response I got was basically "next time, request to have the curry and rice packed separately." As a customer, I shouldn't have to specifically request basic, sanitary packaging. This should be standard, not something you have to ask for. No apology, just an excuse. Really disappointed with the food quality control and customer service here. Hoping they improve their packaging standards, because the taste of the food itself has been fine in the past. It's the experience that fell apart this time.

We placed a to-go order and waited about 30 minutes before picking it up. We live 30 min away so it's not like they're close to us. After pickup and leaving the parking lot, we realized the order was incorrect. We received our Tikka Masala, but instead of the Veggie Saag we ordered, we were given samosas. We called, explained what happened, and were asked to come back so they could swap the order. We were already tired from a long morning with our 5-year-old and 2-year-old, but we turned around and came back. What disappointed me wasn't simply that the order was wrong. We understand mistakes happen. It was how the mistake was handled. When we returned, they took back the samosas, charged us the roughly $8 difference for the Saag, and had us wait while it was prepared. There was no real apology or acknowledgment of the inconvenience and no gesture to make up for having us turn around and come back because of their error. I understand paying the difference between two items, and I wasn't expecting anything extravagant. But good customer service could have been as simple as apologizing, letting us keep the samosas that had already left the restaurant and likely couldn't be served again anyway, offering us a drink while we waited, or making some other small gesture to acknowledge the inconvenience. Did they offer any of that....nope. Instead, we ended up sitting in the car longer with two tired, fussy young kids while waiting for the correct food after already waiting for the original order. We've eaten here many times and normally have a great experience, which is why this was so surprising. Mistakes with an order are understandable. How you respond to the mistake is what customers remember, and unfortunately, the customer service in this situation fell short.

Food was good (Punjabi, which we love), but not spectacular - quite oily as the photos show, and Methi Malai, though tasty, was a bit too sweet.
