So, they've been open for about two weeks and we just returned from our third visit. Yes, the food is that good. Food was delicious. We started with goobi Manchurian and samosas. Both were really great. For dinner we ordered garlic naan, tandoori chicken, butter chicken mild, and spicy tikka masala. The garlic naan was AMAZING! Tandoori wasn't baked and super flavorful. The spicy tikka was definitely spicy and very well done. Our service was attentive and friendly. Can I give more than 5 stars? My fiancé is Punjabi and his family have been in the restaurant business for years. When I want good food, I ask them. Now, I have another delicious option. Kurrywalah is delicious and affordable with spectacular service. Currently BYOB, the servers gave us wine glasses that were nicely polished while we waited for our meal. We got the non veg dinner for 2, which includes 2 samosas as an appetizer (veg), basmati rice, raita, rice pudding, saag paneer, chicken tikka masala, mixed veg & paneer korma, and lamb curry. It's really, really good. -oops I forgot to take a picture of my food because it looked too good to even bother I find myself often disappointed when I order Saag as most places tend to use only spinach as their greens. When we make it at home, we use LOTS of mustard greens with our spinach. I don't want to be wrong and say this restaurant uses mustard greens in their saag, but whatever it is, their saag has great body and flavor that never seems to be easily achieved when using only spinach. The korma, tikka masala, and lamb curry were equally as delicious. The raita and rice pudding was spot on. And the naan... get an order of garlic naan. YES THEY HAVE A TANDOOR! No baked tandoori chicken or naan in this establishment. The samosa was flaky, crispy, and not dry whatsoever. As we were walking out they served a dish to another table that I believe may have been tandoori chicken/kebabs/something similar and that smelled so delicious. It was served sizzling on a platter similar to how many Mexican restaurants serve fajitas. Probably worth checking that out too. Owner was present and we had a great conversation. Call shared and order to go though - service is spotty and today I was refused seating at 8:28 because the close at 9..... If you close at 830, put 830 on your signs - don't turn away loyal customers trying to get food 30 minutes prior! My husband and I stopped in yesterday for the first time. We eat out Indian at least once a week. This is my new favorite place. We got the meal for two. I do t eat lamb, but had the butter chicken. Everything was wonderful and very flavorful. I had to get stuff to go, so I could have it again for lunch today. The place was very clean, and the owners were very nice and accommodating. We had the samosas, garlic naan, chicken tikka masala, chicken korma, tandoori chicken and saag paneer. We got it to go - it was all packaged well and delicious. Had to visit Texas for a work event. Luckily, Kurrywalah popped up on my google search for Indian food and all I have is one word to describe this place... PHENOMENAL. The service was TOP NOTCH. Got greeting right when I walked in the door, helped me pick the best items, and treated you so kindly and with so much respect. Now the food... if I could move to Texas just to eat this place all the time I would so do it. I wish they could deliver me there food to Michigan!!! Got takeout from here and absolutely loved it - their sampler dinners for 2 are perfect (and for us, it fed 2!). As some have said before, their naan was outstanding. Get the garlic naan if you can. Our sampler came with the chicken tikka masala which was to die for (I could have had four of these) as well as three other dishes. I only wish they would have been better labeled so I could reorder them again! We'll be returning, for sure. For the cost of the sampler dinner, it's a great deal and delicious food that stores perfectly for leftovers. read more

Got take out from Kurry Walah tonight. We were really hoping to like this new Indian restaurant but they missed the mark on almost every dish we got. The pakoras were burnt/dry (over fried to the point that you couldn't tell there were vegetables inside them). The samosas were really small - in comparison to other Indian restaurants - and very salty. The saag paneer tasted like creamed spinach with no Indian food flavors at all. The Chicken Tikka Masala was meh (I've had better). Portion sizes were really small and overpriced. On top of that, we waited 30 minutes for the order and it wasn't even hot when we got it home to eat it. read more

Fast Indian food for western tastes Had a bit higher hopes for this place but should have known better from the menu. My wife and I ordered the veg thali which came with samosas, naan, sag paner, malai kofta, nauratna korma, baingan bharta, raita and rice kheer. On the positives, the samosas were fresh, a bit salty but good. The Naan was excellent. Everything else was just OK. First it would have been nice to have a dal as one of the dishes in place of one of the veg dishes that were similar. Second I should have known that I might be disappointed in that the menu let you select your heat level from baby mild to super hot. Having lived in India for five years we knew that this was only possible by making a sweet gravy then adding a pepper sauce to determine the heat level. Real Indian cuisine gets its heat and flavor from the slow cooking process and chilies used giving it a smooth integrated heat that adds to the total flavor of the gravy. In these dishes they had overly salted and sweet undertone and then heat that didn't add to the flavor of the dish. The raita was not very good and the rice kheer passable. Overall, the flavors were Ok but not classic Indian. read more
