So prepared to wait for long. - Gujarati owner tried to get out of honoring coupons that they are participating for marketing activities. Today I ate at this place for the first time. The owners and chef are so warm and welcoming. I pretty much Ate like half the food on their menu. All the chaats are sooooo Yummy. What I didn't like is that they microwaved my appetizer and it tasted a little rubbery. Their service was very good. I had a little fun with one of the cashiers when I asked him what he would recommend. I told him he was "very diplomatic" because he wouldn't outright recommend to me what most vegan patrons order. Of course, he said he would recommend something if I came in more regularly. Love the sales spirit! I ordered the Vegetable Samosas, Gobi Mix, and Yelp awarded me a free Chai Tea for checking in. The Samosas were some of the best I have ordered anywhere. The Gobi Mix was good. To me it wasn't amazing, but it was good. The Chai Tea was delicious also. Fortunately, I was able to make it vegan with almond milk. For all those people who think this "restaurant" serves "fresh" food, they DO NOT!!!! My experience was terrible and the justification provided for the not so "fresh" food was even worse!! On my way home from work my wife asked for me to bring a Masala Dosa home because she was really craving it. For those who don't know what a Masala Dosa is, it's a huge piece of flat bread with a potato filling. The meal comes with a soup and some dipping sauces. Well, I yelped this place, and sorry fellow yelpers, ya let me down. It was rated extremely well so I figured they'd have good food. Well, I went in on my way home, grabbed a Dosa and headed out. Got home and unpackaged the meal, only to be hit with a foul and awful smell instantaneously. I opened the potato container and I could smell the terrible smell from 3 feet away. It had already spoiled within the 15 minute car ride. But that can't be possible, I thought, so I figured I would call the shop and let them know. Their explanation to my experience, "Well, we make our potatoes at 10am, so it is out all day and it can happen". Really??? Potatoes made at 10am, served at 7pm???? Seriously?!?!?!? Also the paneer came with no rice. It's a to-go order and I didn't even receive plastic-wear or a napkin. I ordered ahead through yelp, showed up 10 minutes later, and still had to wait 10 minutes more. Not impressed. It's basically a dive restaurant and only 2 ladies working. I am currently following a Vegan diet and was in search of somewhere to get food besides a salad place. I stumbled upon this gem on YELP (yaass!). I LOVE LOVE Indian food and thought this would be a great place to get a healthy meal. It did not disappoint! First, let's talk about the menu. It's HUGE. And I love that the food items are clearly marked either Vegan or Vegetarian. I ordered this cabbage dish (I forget the name), but it is basically sauteed cabbage with peas and seasonings. It comes with rice. Because I am a greedy Vegan (now), I also ordered a side of plain naan and got the vegetable samosas (it comes with 2). Soo...love love love the samosas. They came out super hot. Very flavorful. The cabbage and rice were pretty good. And the naan was delightful! I loved it! I was stuffed, but it was a good "stuffed." I didn't feel sickly. I think it's because it was a fairly healthy meal. Portion sizes were a little on the smaller side, but the prices are fair! The restaurant is more of a "Mom and Pop" kinda place. We went there around 12:15 and waited more than an hour to order and get our food. After waiting for so long, I finally got the Raj Kachori which looks good but tastes like they just took it out from the fridge. It was extremely cold. We asked them whether it was supposed to be like that, and the lady said they heated it but probably not long enough. Here comes the most ridiculous part, she said there were too many customers so she could not make me a new one. If I come next time, they can give me something else. 1st: The restaurant was not even half occupied. 2nd: I won't want to go there again. 3rd: They didn't make notes of any of my info. How will they remember me next time? Since the wait already took away so much time, I thought of just finishing the food and leaving the place, but it tasted too cold I could not eat it. We asked her again to heat it up with microwave for couple seconds, but it was still cold. I was not able to continue eating it and she finally said they will make another one for me. (It was already around 1:40 pm.) She said give her 2 min. (I waited for half hour to get the cold food but she can make me another one in 2 min.?!)
