I'm writing this so other people know what happened. I used to order from this place almost every day on DoorDash--usually 15 chapatis and a chikoo (sapodilla) shake. Sometimes I'd add mirchi, pakora, or bhel puri too, so it wasn't just a one-time order. Recently, I placed my usual order and it was canceled twice without any proper explanation. After that, they disabled online ordering on DoorDash, and now the chapati item has been removed from DoorDash completely. What makes it more frustrating is that I can still see chapatis listed on Uber Eats, which tells me the item still exists--they just removed it from DoorDash after canceling my orders. Small order or big order, customers deserve the same respect. If you can't serve customers consistently, then don't list your items on DoorDash. And if management is reading this, please be clear about what you're willing to serve on DoorDash instead of canceling orders and removing items without explanation--so other customers don't go through the same thing.
This place is so good. The people there are super nice and if you have no clue what to order, they will totally help you. We had samosas, the masala dosa, the choles bhature, and the idli vada. Totally worth the price, which is really cheap. Go see them! Totally worth the visit!
Order 3 different chat dish. All tastes same. Restaurant is always filthy, been there 3 times dinning room always mess. If dining is filthy , imagine about kitchen ?? 3 employees standing at the front counter on their phone. No hi no thank you. Looks like they don't care.
Nice and friendly place but not attentive. The restroom is not up to the mark - 3.5/5. The plates and spoons are closer to how food is served back home, which is nice. Dahi Puri - 5/5 Nice and tasty. 5 pieces came to a plate. Lemon Juice - it is a combination of lemon, ginger and some other ingredients. 2.5/5 Chole Bhature - 4.5/5 it was nice and tasty. I think the oil was a bit old. Mysore masala dosa - 3.5/5 it's too crunchy. We asked for the tea after the food but it came out before the food. Would visit them if I get a chance to try to taste rest off the menu.
This is a great place to grab great-tasting vegetarian Indian food for decent prices. We were recommended this place by our vegetarian Indian friend. The ambiance is plain but clean. The large windows on two sides of the restaurant let in a lot of light and gives this place an airy atmosphere. This is a self-service place where you place your order and pay up front. Water is self-service - you grab your own pitcher of water and foam cups from the side of the payment counter. There is a large selection of items on their menu. We ordered the following items to try: - Samosa Chat (Chaat?) - there's samosa in this dish somewhere but beaten up beyond recognition - Paav Bhaji Dosa - Dosa with a thick vegetable curry - Bombay sandwich - Vege toasted sandwich - Dabeli - Type of sandwich with a potato paste and peanuts - Masala dosa - Dosa with a potato filling - Bhel puri - Snack made with puffed rice, vegetables and various spices It takes about 20 minutes for us to get our food during moderately busy times. All of them were very tasty, except for the Bombay sandwich - it's fine but not in the same league as the others. I would be keen to come back and try the other items on their menu - it's quite a culinary adventure!
The workers were nice and they took the time to answer questions. I got the samosa chaat. The flavors were good however, I think the amount of sauce that was on top cooled down the samosa a bit so it wasn't up to temperature as I would have liked. The green sauce was really good. The dish was spicy but not overpowering. I also go to try the Dahi puri, it was very interesting with the yogurt inside but I liked the flavor. I would get that as an appetizer next time The star of the show was my mango lassi. The mango Lassi here was sweeter than other places and I really enjoyed it. When in the area and wanting some veggies I would probably stop by and try another dish.
Everything was delicious.. that spicy chutney tho..SO much flavor and spic.. and the Samosas were For some reason fb would only let me check-in at the one in India so I posted a pic of the card incase yall wanted to give them a try.
Been to the restaurant a couple times. Nothing fancy about the restaurant. The food is fairly good. But the samosas, I don't know what they put in them... I don't know what they fry it with. They are heaven on earth. Literally haunts me! Every time I go to an Indian restaurant and try the samosas...this is the restaurant that I compared to. And I have not found another one that is better. Maybe I need to get out more. I haven't tried too many but this one is my favorite.
We were in the Tomball area and were looking for some place to eat. This place popped up within half a mile radius and the reviews looked good too. The place is conveniently located off the fwy and has good visibility from the road. It was empty when we got there with one lady behind the counter. She smiled and greeted us when we entered the restaurant. The place was fairly clean and had good amount of seatings for large parties. We ordered their masala dosa, mysore masala dosa, vada pau and ragda patties. The dosas came first and were fresh and hot. But when we tried them we felt they really lacked flavor. However, their coconut and mango chutneys were great! Then came the vada pau and again the dish itself didn't taste so good but their red/brown chutney was great. Last came the ragda patties and that was the worst of all. We wanted to try some desserts but by this point had given up on finding anything that we would like at this restaurant. We would not come back here to try anything else.
Came in to satisfy our South Indian food cravings on Thursday for dinner and weren't disappointed. Place had quite a few customers for a Thursday night. We got the Paneer Dosa & Onion Rava Masala for dine in, and 1 Idli plate togo. I initially wanted to order the Khaman Dhokla but they said that they only give it for bulk orders, which I found very strange & misleading as it was on thier menu. Food came hot & was delicious. They don't give the orange tomato chutney with the dosa, just the coconut chutney and sambar. Nice to have this place that offers South Indian food close to Cypress. We will be back!
Now I don't need to travel to Hillcroft or Sugar Land, closer to home Raj Bhavan saved me a lot of travel for the search of a perfect place for Indian vegetarian snack and meals. This place has awesome dosas, My favorite being the cheese masala dosa where they use Amul cheese, (not the Sharp cheddar other places use). They have a wide range of items on the menu and The ones that I tried were simply Delicious. The place is clean, comfortable and the services is to the point of ur comfort.
What a great restaurant. I came here on a recommendation, and the food was delicious. We arrived during a non-peak time in the afternoon for a late lunch, and there were only a few other tables dining in spaced far apart from each other. We definitely over ordered. Lol. But, it was worth it. Here's a breakdown of what we ate: Bhel Puri (5/5): Loved this appetizer. It had so much flavor and texture from the tamarind sauce, crunchy bits, onions, cilantro, and peanuts. It's quite filling. So, be mindful of this before ordering more food. Chole Bature (5/5): I loved the spicy chickpea curry. It went so well with their puffy fried bread. Vada Pav (4/5): You can't go wrong with carb on carb. Buttered bread sandwiching a spiced potato filling mixture. They serve you two of these with both mint chutney and tamarind sauces. I stuck with dipping my sandwich in the mint chutney. So good and spicy. This was a filling dish too. Samosa Pav (5/5): Fried samosa sandwiched between buttered bread. Wonderful spices, filling, and delicious. It also went great with their spicy, mint chutney. But, next time, I plan to order the samosas on their own. They already taste yummy without the bread. Overall, we will definitely be back. We will just likely order less, as their appetizers and sandwiches were all quite filling. Come check them out.
EASILY the best indian vegetarian spot in houston. I've tried so many thalis and I'd have to say that this one really took the cake. The service was also spectacular, food came out in ten minutes and every item was very fresh. The food tasted very healthy too. I love the minimalistic element to the thali, it wasn't TOO much or TOO little--just right. The ambiance was very comforting too; it's a very quiet and relaxing environment. My partner ordered the mysore masala dosa and he was pretty pleased with his meal experience here. 100000/10. Eat here! You won't regret it.
Personally, I have had tastier chaats, but these were good also. Ima give them 5 stars, because of the overall experience. As I entered the store, I was greeted with friendly, smiles. It felt very approachable. There were some good 80s and 90s Bollywood music playing throughout. Also, at the back, there was a television with the cricket game on. There were plenty of tables and chairs and booths available. Bhel puri. 5/5. Vibrant. And a generous portion. It didn't have that much sweet chutney that other places do, which was perfectly fine with me. It was good. Chaat Papri 4/5. Also good in taste. Not too sweet. I would have preferred more cholay/chanas in the chaat, along with more Papri and slight more spice. Overall, I enjoyed myself and it felt very calm and peaceful to dine in. read more

This is my new favorite Vegetarian spot! First, the staff were so nice and helpful. The lady up front walked me through the menu and fave suggestions. The prices were more than reasonable! The food was homemade, fresh and colorful. The sauces were bright, bold and flavorful. The restaurant was clean and spacious. I recommend! read more

OMG!!! First time at a vegetarian place... wow, my mouth was in flavor town. So many different flavors and I didn't have to have meat to feel satisfied. The food had such great flavor from the cold dish choice, to the spicy hot dish with the puff bread, to the fried potato balls!! All amazing! We had Dahi Puri ( custard filled crispy balls). Chole Bhature (a vegetarian type of chili with puff bread) and the Samosa (fried potatoes balls) read more

What makes a restaurant worth going is the Taste and the service... this place has both! very friendly person behind the register... The best chole bhatura ever 5 on 5! It reminded me the taste of my mom's cooking... Vada pav was not bad either I would give it a 4... As spoiled as Iam in taste wise. Haha Definitely will be back!!! read more

Good food. Plan on getting 2 dishes as the dishes are small. Each dish is $7-10, so it won't break the bank. Good service and it was pretty fast. I don't know if they serve meat at the restaurant, so carnivores beware. You can still fill up though. I could barely finish what I ordered. read more

I discovered this little gem during Lent when I wasn't eating meat on Fridays. Great little spot and everything tastes amazing and super fresh. I know nothing of the cuisine or where it comes from all I know is it is delicious, and the owners make great suggestions. My first few times in I stuck with bhel puri and samosas and I know I will return to those as they are both outstanding. Today I wanted to venture a little further and I tried aloo parathi, like a flatbread with potatoes inside (so good) and I tried the dahi puri, which I have no idea how to describe except to say that everything that happened on that plate was perfect. I will be back again and again to try as much of the menu as I can! read more
