If you're not a fan of spicy, I would stick with level 1 or 2. I ordered mine with basil rice. Pretty good. I'll be back for sure. The restaurant itself is nothing fancy at all. Decor was very basic. I noticed one table that needed to be cleaned the entire time I was there. Bottom line - Really good Indian food. However, The lack of attention to detail in the dining area cost them a star. I'll be back. Bon appétit, y'all.

Then we ordered our entrees, which were full of flavor. I'd go back just for the noodles. They didn't have quite a few of the desserts I wanted, but they offered alternatives. It was okay. Not really a fan of fried foods, so it's not something I'd get again. The presentation was superb though. Each table has bottled water at room temperature. Service was good. I had an alternate plan initially, but timing didn't work out for me, so I perused my bookmarks as I took the parking shuttle to my car and settled on Curry Masala. I called them once I got to my car and was told my order would be ready in about 20 minutes, as my GPS read out that I was 20 minutes from the restaurant. Everything was coming up Milhouse. Because I am a basic B, I ordered chicken tikka masala and butter chicken. It was ready about 3 minutes after I arrived, and off to home I headed. I enjoyed both, but thought the tikka masala was definitely the better of the two, and the wife agreed. We had a favorite Indian spot really close to here that has unfortunately closed down, so I have been on the hunt for a new one. Curry Masala did not quite match that level, but it's not a bad option when in the area.

It looked really good, but unfortunately it was the worst Indian food I've ever tried. Even the better dishes weren't that great. My entire experience from start to finish was just perfect and well executed by the staff. I made reservations since I wasn't sure how difficult it would be to get a table. Upon entering....the restaurant only seemed half full but by the time I left, nearly every table was full. We were actually seated in a decent spot toward the rear of one section at a 2 top so it was nice and quiet. We started off with the oyster appetizer which seemed strange but turned out to be actually really good. The oysters were probably the east coast variety as they're visually smaller and better quality than gulf oysters. They seemed more steamed than roasted. I prefer chargrilled when cooking them but this was definitely an interesting take on an oyster appetizer that I'm glad I tried. For the entrees, we tried the filet with eggplant fritters and the Chilean seabass. Filet - this is a 6oz portion from Gourmet Ranch, but very tasty, cooked perfectly and of course tender. It seemed to be prepared with a dry indian spice rub. The menu didn't indicate it, but the filet already comes with the truffle mashed potatoes and you can choose 1 additional side. The eggplant fritters were very tasty, especially when dipping them in the red sauce. Note: The menu indicates you receive a choice of sauces with your steak (madras curry or kashmiri chili chimichurri) but the waitress didn't ask and just brought the chimichurri, which isn't spicy. I probably would have selected that one anyway. Seabass - The seabass was definitely on the smaller side but it had a nice presentation. It comes with an orangish sauce, asked for it on the side, which we felt was similar to the curry gravy you receive at Malaysian restaurants when ordering the roti canai. I already had dessert plans somewhere else, so I didn't get a chance to see Amrina's dessert menu, but I would definitely return and try it on a future visit. There were no issues whatsoever the entire night. Everything was timed perfectly, everything tasted delicious, but this all comes at a cost. Mine was around 100/pp on this given night and that's with no alcohol.

To be honest, when I made the reservation we didn't reserve anything with the tapas menu but we went with it. We were sat near the bar giving us the view of the kitchen and asked to check out the menus. I did the vegetarian tapas and my husband did the non vegetarian tapas. I absolutely love Indian street food so this worked out. In order we recieved: Pani puri - the puris were crunchy, had some spice and the passionfruit topping was adding the tangy spice, delicious! It also had avocado and fruit which is so unique. Presentation was picture worthy! Papidi chaat- not one of my favorites but tasted pretty usual, I enjoyed the yogurt also giving it some tang. Bhel puri- tasted like your typical bhel puri but the topping placed on the top was very unique- made it seem a little more high end. Pok pok po - the presentation was very unique- I almost didn't understand the dog statue as seen in my photo but the food was still good! But I also learned that the chef has another sister restaurant downtown called Pok Pok Po mainly Indian style chicken. Paneer wrap- had some heat! The chutney was a good addition to the wrap Birthday chai bomb- there was a chocolate ball where you pour hot chai on top and it was delicious! Choice of popsicle- the last item- at this point we were extremely full, I picked the passion fruit popsicle and it was fresh and delicious! The presentation again didn't really make any sense to me. Overall- the tasting menu was actually a really good surprise and delicious! I wound highly recommend! The staff were great, the chef brought us one item and introduced himself- definetly felt like a special night.

The spice had a nice depth & heat. I liked the onions too :) The veg kurma was pretty good. It had a great spice level. Both a mix of spice and heat without being too overpowering. The portion size was enough for two meals. I also got a cup of chai and it was the best chai I've had in a while! I was very happy This place specialized in hyderabadi food (biryanis and such) and their food definitely lived up to the mark! I'll be back here for sure

Apparently my kids have entered their Indian cuisine era, and I'm completely here for it…read more We ordered Tarka Indian Kitchen to-go and everybody had their own pick. We went with three kids meals: the Biryani Rice Bowl, Tikka Curry Bowl, and Coconut Curry Bowl, paired with strawberry or mango lemonade. And because my kids have apparently decided garlic naan is an absolute requirement now, we grabbed a couple of those too. This was another HIT! Everybody liked their own choice so much that before long, they were splitting everything up so they could taste each other's dishes. The sauces were flavorful, everything traveled well, and each dish gave them something a little different without being too much for the kids. And the garlic naan? Gone. I feel like I barely saw it before it disappeared. Next time, clearly, we need more. I also really liked that the kids had actual flavorful meal options to choose from. Sometimes kids menus feel like the same few foods everywhere you go, so being able to order them their own curry and biryani bowls was a nice change especially when they genuinely enjoyed them. Needless to say, Tarka has officially earned a spot on the kids' To-Go Friday list. When all three kids approve AND everybody wants a bite of everybody else's food, we have ourselves a winner.

The chicken was perfectly cooked, super tender, and packed with flavor. Every bite had the right balance of spices without being overpowering. You can tell everything is made fresh and with care. The samosas were crispy on the outside with a flavorful filling, and their tikka sauce on the side took it to another level. The chicken pakoras were just as impressive -- crispy, well-seasoned, and not greasy at all. And let's talk about that desi spicy ranch... absolute game changer. It paired perfectly with everything and honestly made the whole meal a 10/10. This is officially my new favorite Indian spot. Highly recommend if you're craving bold, flavorful, and perfectly cooked Indian food. Also, the prices are out great and the service is extremely fast! I'm editing this review because I just tried the tikka masala and the coconut curry as well as the garlic naan at a different location and even their chicken Pecora's at the other location in Montrose was not as good. I would rather drive to spring and go to this location tasted better. coconut curry was good however it's not better than the tikka masala so I wouldn't get it again same with the garlic naan it was good but not something I need cause it comes with basmati rice and I need to remember next time to get the tikka masala at normal heat rather than hot. I feel like the hot overpowers the flavor.

Most of the customers during my visit were Indian, so that was a good sign. The name of the restaurant sounded a little familiar but it turns out they have over 20 locations in 4 different regions of the world. Their 1st US restaurant was in Houston and their 1st franchise restaurant was this location in The Woodlands. With so many choices on the menu, some items I've never even heard of, I took a chance on a new curry I had never eaten which the server said was spicier than the vindaloo. I chose the andhra curry with goat and a garlic naan. The dish was around $18, plus with the naan and it wasn't exactly a bargain priced meal for one. The curry was possibly a tad bit spicier than my usual vindaloo at other Indian restaurants and it had a very nice flavor. My biggest complaint was that the dish was smaller than I expected. I was able to eat all the curry and most of the naan, which I'm usually never able to do at most Indian restaurants. Service was very friendly though, so I will be back to try other dishes soon.

Also got the butter masala with chicken aka butter chicken. Comes with white rice. I liked it more than the briyani. Also got the garlic naan. Loved that one. The sole worker was running frantically between tables and doing take away and the cash register. Geez. I came in with my husband and 3 kids (one tween, one picky little kid, one picky toddler). We ordered a lot of food so we could share and try it all. There wasn't a single thing anybody didn't like. Samosa, Chana, paneer masala, lentils, roti, naan, the street food things I can't remember the name of right now, and the fried rice. When I say I could eat here every day and never get bored, I mean it. The menu had a lot of classics we have had before and also had a lot of new things we'd never heard of before. The man working there was very kind and answered all of our questions. He even made some great suggestions which we totally went with. He was also very kind and patient when it took us forever to decide because we have picky kids. The prices are very reasonable for what you get but we spent more than we normally would so we could try more stuff. The paneer masala was the best I've ever had. I'm usually more of a korma fan because the tomato can be bitter but the masala here was creamy and flavorful without any hint of bitterness. It was everybody's favorite. If you go here, let them know what you like and listen to their suggestions, especially if there are things you haven't tried. I almost didn't get the dosa but they recommended it and it was my absolute favorite. This is a tiny little hole-in-the-wall type building and you can't see the seating from the parking lot. There isn't decor on the walls and it looks closed until you walk up to the door but I think they might be remodeling or in the middle of redecorating. The inside is very clean and cozy with a variety of booth and table seating of various sizes. We will be back. Actually, if they don't know who we are in just a couple of months, I'll be surprised.
