one of each fish and chips

I highly recommend ordering online about 20-30 mins before you arrive! We did that at 2pm on Saturday and didn't have to wait very long once we arrived on location. The website says the online order is 'ASAP' but it also says it can take anywhere from 10 mins to 1 hr. Pajos is a classic Steveston fish and chips stop that is quite popular with tourists. It's nice to be out on the pier when the weather is good! The fish and chips are freshly made and perfectly crisp. It would've been nice to have a lemon or lime or maybe order some coleslaw to cut the grease.

Halibut fish and chips

Pajos delivered a really enjoyable fish and chips experience. The halibut was tender, juicy, and cooked just right. A helpful tip is to order online so you can walk around the wharf while you wait. The real time tracking is surprisingly accurate and makes the whole process easy. The chips are all you can eat, and even though the first batch that came with the fish tasted like leftovers, the refill chips were perfectly crispy and fresh. It ended up being a great way to enjoy a sunny day by the water.

They now have added online ordering, and you see a massive lineup to order on the dock, hit up their website to order online and just wait until your number gets called! The food is still amazing and great, and they still have bottomless fries and fountain soda refills!

The fish are soooo crispy!! Really fast service and huge portions. A must stop at the Steveston Wharf!

I always go for the cod here. It comes out tender and not dry, which is exactly what I want in fish and chips. The fries are great too, and the free refills are a nice bonus. It is definitely nicest in the summer, but I still enjoy it on a clear day even if it is a bit chilly. There is some seating on the wharf, which adds to the whole experience. Just make sure to check their hours since they operate seasonally.

This is where we celebrated memories and I love how the food was. I felt like a food court and exclusive space for my family and I, although not every seating area had umbrellas and it was hot if you were eating these foods with the sun beaming on you, but the dock to the boat was short, and that experience reminded me of the suspension bridge in Vancouver these memories were very precious to me for my family and I

Came here for fish n chips a week ago and I must say the portion size of the fish filets are not what it used to be. Everything was pretty oily as well. The fries was just okay. Won't be coming back.

My first Fish & Chips in Canada. It was amazing. I also tried it in Japan, it was totally different. The tartar sause is my favorite.

Lovely experience eating on the pier! Would absolutely come back again! There was no line when I ordered, but the wait for the order was longer than expected. Tons of people started queuing up right after I ordered. 5/5 cod, salmon, and halibut -- the tempura style batter is so crisp and the fish is light and flaky. 4.5/5 Bottomless fries - crispy, we went back for seconds!

Wow the line was long but it moved fast! Hard to find a shady spot to eat. They are a great fish n chips place because they have a variety of fish to choose from. We got Salmon, Cod, and Halibut. The salmon was my favorite because it had a sweetness to it. The fries were ok, I recommend just getting the fish. I likes the creativity of their tables with holes and they give you the fish in a cone where the table holds it stable. Their salad was also very tasty and refreshing!

Yum! So fun eating fish and chips on the pier. We got two pieces of cod with the bottomless fries for ~$23. A little pricey but the fish was very delicious with a nice crispy light batter. Bottomless fries was nice too - just go up front. You can also ask them for an empty cup for water (there's a fountain) and plates to share. Ketchup is self serve and they give you the tartar sauce and lemons.

We had a birthday BOGO coupon so we headed down to steveston for fish and chips at Pajos. It's a long weekend with nice sunny weather so it was pretty busy in the neighbourhood. It took some time to find parking. Took us a minute to realize where the ramp was to get down to Pajos lol. We ordered through the app and it didn't take too long for them to make our order actually. I wish there were more tables and benches to eat at as most of them were already taken up. We picked cod and thought the food was decent , but the price is a bit steep (at full price) for what you're getting. I would say that It's a nice treat to have once in awhile!

Sad the city cancelled the contract for the Garry pt location. Portions have def gotten à lot smaller. Fish and chips are still one of my favourite in métro van. Bottomless handcut fries. Fast turnover, online ordering. They added some more seating at the top of the wharf and somehow there are less seagulls than usual.

2 Alaskian pices of fish the size of 2 Mac Nuggets. Very greasy. The batter was dropped in grease. Did not even stay on the fish.

We both ordered the single piece salmon & chips along with a pair of cold beverages. When our orders were ready I was in great anticipation. Imagine my surprise to find all the chips underneath my salmon were hard, greasy and NOT FLUFFY inside their really crispy exterior!! I pawed through the entire dish and didn't find a single chip worthy of being the same as its British counterpart. The salmon was cooked kind-of dark but the fish was still moist thankfully. The coleslaw was tossed in an Asian dressing but the flavour did taste as bright and refreshing as I recalled. We were both so hungry that we ate most of our chips anyways. Big mistake. Little did we realize that this action would come back to haunt us later with indigestion that would last hours. We should have complained about the chips but we didn't because both of us had worked in a restaurant in our youth and know how orders that get sent back to the kitchen can get treated so we didn't want to chance it. Service at the order counter was efficient. We were only third and fourth in the line up when they opened up for service so it took quite a while for our orders to be ready. There were a number of tables available for patio dining on their deck. The ambiance was quietly expectant with regular diners waiting for their orders to go and to dine in the patio. The weather was great for a sunny Fall day that I couldn't enjoy it the way I had hoped to with gish & chips overlooking the water front. I couldn't get past my biitter disappointment with the chips because they are such an integral part of this traditional cuisine. It made me wresting whether the chips were the previous days chips refried again or the cook overcooked the chips from lack of care. Either way we have decided we won't be returning. Eating out has become much more expensive everywhere with inflation. Value for the money is not here for us. In past visits years ago my family and I would have rated this place 4.5/5 but that impression has disappeared. I can only rate it worthy of a 2/5 now. We can find better fish & chips from others elsewhere.

The building is definitely on the older side. Lots of wood trim. Reminds me of an old dock. The seating area is L shaped, and largely fits around the outer edge of the building (the restaurant is on a corner lot). Great view of the park and water. Staff are friendly and cheerful. As my friends and I were only here for a beer, I can't comment on the food. Pricing looked pretty reasonable, and I've heard good things about this place from friends. Not an Entree size and certainly not filling. The rest of the ingredients were so underwhelming. Barely any beats, a few tomatoes and just a heap of shredded carrots over a bed of greens. So very basic for an $18 salad without the chicken. The 2-piece Cod and Chips. The actual battered fish was nice. I loved getting to watch the bartender shuck the oysters and grate some fresh horseradish on the plate. It was also really fun that they had a variety of sauces you could put on the oysters ranging from a mild mignonette vinegar and cocktail sauce to spicy hot sauces. The oysters that day were from Fanny Bay, so they were very plump and juicy! The addition of the fresh horseradish on the oysters added a really nice flavor with just a hint of the spicy kick you get from jarred horseradish. They absolutely nailed every dish. The flavors, execution, and freshness were all on point. The only downside was the AC, it was barely doing its job when we visited.
